The location is perfect, just in the middle of Lapa's interesting life, good supermarkets, restaurants, music-samba, very nice, old houses around (unfortunately many in bad condition, but they have charm), the aqueduct just 5 minutes on foot, center, cathedral, metro, tram and Selaron steps (so Santa Teresa) 10 minutes on foot, plenty of buses nearby. Flamengo beach and good weekend market 15 on foot. Nice rooftop with pool and view over Santa Teresa e.g. Of course you will see here homeless people too like in any other country's big cities, but I traveled alone as a woman and I felt safe (I am not a brave type). Anyway, you will see policemen at many corners in Brazil. After this hotel in Lapa I stayed in Copacabana/Ipanema area for some nights and I think was a really good idea this kind of split between locations. Breakfast was great. The room was big with comfortable bed. The street was noise, but you are in the center area... I could sleep well by open window. I didn't use the air-condition (It was summer, but for me the temperature was good without ac), but I tried once and seemed a little bit loud. (As far as I know that is a common problem in Brazil.) The senior man with glasses at the reception (unfortunately I don't know his name) was really professional and friendly.

Cool rooftop pool, gym and nice building and facilities in general. Very comfortable bed.

The views were ugly, both from the main entrance and from the windows. Did not provide anti-insect /repelent

Really excellent room with a super comfy bed, wardrobes and desk. Bathroom had a hot and powerful shower. On-site restaurant was great price and did really good food. The pool on the roof was great to cool down and had a bar with sports on in the evening. Great location with supermarkets and restaurants around. Place for Ubers to pull in for us to explore the city

could improve the sun beds on the roof as most were broken.

If you enjoy going to pubs in the evenings, then the location is great.

Like in many Brazilian hotels, the coffee was awful. It's prepared in a thermos and doesn't taste good. The same could be said for the entire breakfast. There's a wide selection, but it's tasteless. The AC was incredibly noisy, so when it was turned on, it felt like a car was running inside the room.

Excellent breakfast choices. The small gym and rooftop splash pool and bar are nice extra facilities.

WiFi frequently dropped out on 10th floor. Location is excellent for walking to downtown sights during the day but I felt uneasy at night on the streets since the area looks a bit run down. However, taxis are everywhere and remarkably cheap so there's no need to take risks.

I like the pool area. It was very nice and clean and somewhere to relax. The bar and television showing football were also awesome.

For me (English) and my wife who is Brazilian the breakfast was a little heavy or sweet. Many pies and things you eat for lunch and also many cakes. But we desired simple things like Pão de quiejo. I believe that is a must along with a good quality sausage and not the cheap hot dog sausage. I wasn’t excited for breakfast.

lovely clean hotel, comfy bed, really nice en-suite, loved the pool and having a wet bar in the pool was cool

1 working lift in a 12 floor hotel so took a long time to come (we were on 11 so long way up the stairs). Ordered food twice and both times it took over an hour to arrive, the first time we only ordered a sandwich.

it was comforting. good location. the staff, especially Ivson were incredible as I’d be robbed on the beach. they kept me calm, ordered me Ubers, let me borrow his phone to contact with family. I wouldn’t have got home without their help. the food was cheap. the coffee was good

the shower was a old but it was clean. variety of hot breakfast was minimal

Reasonable price for down town in Rio

Took too long to check in. I was waiting for over an hour for checking in even though I was at the reception before 2 pm. I don’t know what system they use but it was not first-come-first-serve. I got cut off by many people who came after me

might not a fancy one but good enough for a few days stay. Location isnt bad but not encourage you to walk at night since lots of homeless around. We traveled by Uber most of the times as well. Room was cleaned/arranged everyday.

a/c was old so it was noisy, bearable though. some staff couldnt speak English. pool is just for a dip not to swim. water in the room isnt free. breakfast has mostly sweet/dessert. ps. not what i dont like, just a few reminders/correction
