The breakfast is very complete and the staff is very attentive. Although the rooms are not modern, they are clean, spacious and have a beautiful view. The door staff is always very attentive and the porters too.

There is food service on the terrace, and they have few staff, it takes them a long time to bring you a drink or a coffee, about 20 minutes. They do not provide hot water that they could easily give you. The gym was the biggest disappointment, only one machine and treadmills and bikes. Few weights, the mats were of poor quality, there are no benches or bars to do weight training. I went with the expectation of training and I had little desire, very little.

Breakfast was great but the same thing without any change for 7 days that we stayed. Location was great, one of the cleanest and safest beaches of Rio; If you are interested in the clubbing or night life or busy beach vibe, probably not your best option but as a family with two kids, we definitely enjoyed the location more than Copacabana (we stayed there as well)

The room hadn't have basic equipment like electric kettle or complementary tea or coffee (probably not that common in Brazil as we didn't receive them in other hotels as well)

Its our 2nd time at Windsor Barra Hotel, location is great; in front of the beach. Breakfast and dinner buffet are very good with a great variety. The pool area has a beautiful view of the beach and surrounding mountains. Overall this is one of the best hotels in Barra da Tijuca, the area is very safe and security in the hotel is very good. We had a great family vacation and we’ll be back.

5 star hotel didn’t provide the guests with the free umbrellas for the beach and also no sun chairs!! i found it a No go!! thin walls, we could hear some repairing noise in one of the the evenings breakfast was too expensive when we arrived, the line for check in was huge, we needed to wait about 45 minutes and then even to wait till 2 pm to get a room… check in time was also very long with the paper burocracy 😤

Location, pool with sauna.

The pool area smells like fried food, you need to fix the chimneys so the difunda from the kitchen don’t spoil the environment at the pool. Also the shower drain on room 421 does not keep up and after the shower the bathroom is flooded. The view from room 421 was bad, I expected to see the ocean, for the prize I payed.

Breakfast is very good: a lot of variety, everything tastes really good and staff was very polite and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable and we were really pleased there was a bathtub in ours !

Unfortunately the jacuzzi in the pool was in need of a fix: the water heater was not working and only a few jets were on. Also, we could hear some noise from the corridor in the room.

There’s a small issue that was not solved. I booked by mistake one more day it was a non refundable room, however I texted to the hotel at the same time I booked to fix this and refund the money for the extra day I wasn’t there and also during my stay tried to do it directly with the front desk and didn’t have any positive solution about it. Also the gym should be improved, there aren’t proper machines and some are wrecked.

Room was good and clean.

When I booked i selected ocean view, which for me should be ocean front view. For my surprise was ocean side view. I would suggest to have coffee facilities in the room as well as free water.

Lot of eurpean charging plugs , we arrived late after long trip and just one american plug to charge phones, tablets and laptop in the bathroom , even worst, hotel does not have any adapter , this is really bad
