The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. I am a solo traveler and when I reserve a table at a restaurant, I usually get a small table in the back. Not at Maisons Wat Kor! The staff had prepared one of the most beautiful tables at the restaurant for me. The table had an amazing view over the water. I truly appreciate the effort they made. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Furthermore, I loved the salt water pool. The temperature of the water was perfect, not too cold. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a traditional Khmer style. The hotel feels authentic. Finally, I booked a massage and it was one of the best massages I ever had. Simply amazing!

The socket in the bathroom did not work. Moreover, the hairdryer was old and stopped working in the middle of drying my hair. But these are small details. Nothing to write home about. Lovely hotel!

Maisons Wat is a very special place and we feel utterly blessed to have stayed there. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by the team of incredible staff and within minutes it became apparent this was a very magical place indeed. It is uniquely calm and serene and its design and layout are utterly stunning. Kim, the owner and his wife Sopia have cleverly created something that incorporates the history and tradition of Khmer style and also respects the neighbouring community too. This has been done with such precision and taste that it feels modern, extremely comfortable and super stylish too. Committing strongly to its eco principles all materials and decorations around the hotel have been up cycled and re purposed. Kim is passionate about many things and especially food which is reflected in the excellent Khmer cuisine. The hotel has a great 12 metre salt water pool and with 30 minutes notice the hotel can arrange a massage. The hotel is located in a small village close to a temple and some historic dwellings. It is a 15 minute tuk tuk ride to the centre of Battembang. During our stay my husband was unwell and the kindness of the team here was touching to say the least. I cannot recommend Maisons Wat enough and really hope one day to return.

This is a simply stunning hotel. The owners have created something really quite special. Surrounded by nature, you can sit and relax, watching the trees swaying gently in the breeze whilst listening to the wildlife and insects calling in the background. It is so very peaceful, you feel completely isolated from the distractions of the outside world. The gardens and swimming pool are incredible, the rooms authentic and beautiful. Moreover, there is a real focus on the environment and sustainability. For example, some of the hotel is made from reclaimed local wood, plastic straws are replaced with metal ones, water refills are available. All these little details build into a feeling of being appreciative and respectful of everything around you. The food is delicious, we very rarely do this, but we ate at the restaurant most of the time, the prices are very reasonable, the dishes varied and tasty and the setting so tranquil. Staff were fantastic, so very welcoming and approachable. It is easy to strike up a conversation with them and learn more about Battambang and Cambodia. This is one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had, we felt completely at ease and relaxed here and didn't want to leave. We did stay in one of the larger rooms, it was absolutely massive! Slightly more expensive, but if you are treating yourselves, it's very impressive! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike, the hotel experience was perfect for us. You are of course surrounded by nature and the fantastic sounds that brings, also Battambang itself is a quick tuk tuk journey away, the hotel can sort this at reception for you.

Where do I start? The rooms are incredible, huge, stylish, spotlessly clean with super comfortable beds. The property itself is so beautiful, with a lily pond, lush greenery, a lovely pool and plenty of seating to enjoy the setting. It’s an oasis of luxury just outside Battembang. The food is outstanding - the only problem is not eating too much of it. And the staff are so incredibly kind and attentive. A wonderful hidden gem in Cambodia.

The place is amazing and peaceful. The lake adds a special touch, making it a perfect spot to disconnect from everything. The staff was friendly and helpful.

No Wi-Fi in the rooms, which actually helped with disconnecting from technology. There’s also a temple next to the hotel, and during certain times of the year, there will be prayers throughout the day. It wasn’t too disruptive and added a ‘local’ feel, but it’s good to know ahead of time.

We loved just about everything about this hotel. The owners really tried to maintain a traditional Khmer style, while still making the rooms and other facilities comfortable. The food was delicious, the rooms spacious and comfortable, but above all, the owners (Mr. Kim and Ms. Sophea) and staff were simply amazing hosts, who made our stay at Maisons Wat Kor truly memorable. We will be back for sure.

This wasn't an issue for us as we had our own transportation, but if you don't have a car and need to take a tuk tuk into town, the location might not be the most convenient.

The people working in the hotel are the best! Special thanks to Sinath, Somnang and Sarong (‘Handsome’). Always friendly and joking around 😊. They booked our boat trip to Siem Reap and prepared a lunchbox for us. Thank you, Sinath, Somnang and Handsome, you made our stay extra special and we didn’t want to leave.

Lovely authentic property in a quiet location. Staff are fun, funny, helpful and very charming (especially Handsome!) - we enjoyed their company and knowledge a lot and appreciated their help organising day trips and tuk tuks. Food and drinks were great quality and well priced. Great breakfast and brilliant coffee.

Nothing. The property is a little way out of the centre but do not let this put you off, it is a far superior location that allows you to see the area authentically and you can easily access everything you need to.

Incredible hotel in lush grounds, with excellent food and wonderful staff. The setting is authentic Cambodian style buildings set around a pretty lotus pond, with a good swimming pool and lovely gardens. Everything spotlessly clean. The elegant and charming Mr Kim and his wife run a very sophisticated yet unpretentious hotel. All the staff friendly and welcoming. We loved it all, enjoyed all the meals we ate there, and had a great day tour out with Rith in his tuk-tuk.

We have just spent 4 fantastic nights here. The resort is set in a village on the outskirts of the city and feels semi rural. The rooms are lovely and designed to mimic traditional houses - but with wonderfully comfortable beds and glorious fabrics. The days have followed a relaxing pattern. You awake as dawn clears to the sounds of the birds, and distant local music or village life. Breakfast is a feast. Then off to do what ever had been organised. One of the greatest strengths of MWK is the owner Kim. He will organise everything with a smile and his depth of local knowledge. For us the heigh point was a trip to Banteay Chhmar. Back in time for a swim in the pool, before dinner. A daily changing 4 course menu of Cambodian food is one option. This is a lovely resort. Made truly superb by the staff. Always smiling, friendly, and eager to help. Very much recommended.
