Great location near the river and within walking distance of the center and the residential palace. Clean pool and a great bar on the rooftop, with a wonderful view of the river. Great restaurant on the 4th floor where they serve delicious food and fresh produce. The restaurant is spacious, open, airy and offers a great view too. Our room had a cute private balcony in the trees with bird traffic early morning. The room was reasonably spacious, reasonably clean, and offering enough space to unpack your bags. Quiet location and a quiet hotel, with a friendly and helpful staff. Small bathroom with plenty of hot water.

The room needs a good makeover. Dirty walls in some places, and the bottom sheets looked yellow instead of white, with old stains on. Hard mattress and pillows. Basic furniture and facilities. Terrible lighting. If you want an electric kettle, be sure to book a twin room, no kettle for the king size, guys, sorry no can do. (Never heard such a ridiculous explanation in SE Asia in my 5 years here). That means that electric kettles are only for couples that sleep separately 😄? The A/C works well enough but is difficult to regulate because half of the digital screen on the remote was not showing. We love hostels, but this one is not good value for money. Too expensive for the lack of comfort and facilities. However, the location, their pool bar, rooftop, and restaurant made up for it.

The Staff were wonderful, very helpful and kind. Loved the rooftop pool and outside area, nice place to hang out mornings and evenings. Great view of the river. Great food, lots on the menu We extended our stay here as we were waiting on Visa's. We will definitely come back.

No fridge in room, for cold water and drinks. No tea and coffee facilities.

1. I was very impressed with the thought that had gone into the design of Pooltop and the attention to detail. The swimming pool area has great ambience and could be a great regular rendezvous for local expats, and a perfect venue for private and corporate functions for 20 or 40 people. The retractable awning is a stroke of genius. 2. The food was of a surprisingly high standard and well priced. 3. It was quiet and peaceful.

1. The hip-hop and techno so called "music" at night in the swimming pool area at night is aimed at the wrong market. It could have a sexy atmosphere that would appeal to a more mature and affluent local clientele with Brazilian guitars, French cafe music, Calypso etc. 2. No bar fridge in the room. It would be nice to have cold water or be able to make a coffee at any time, particularly as the coffee machine in the restaurant is turned off at 8.30PM (for some reason that escapes me). 3. Hanging space is adequate for an overnight stay but not for 4 or 5 days. It needs to be doubled and with more shelf space provided for toiletries.

The pooltop area is lovely, for a dip, a drink, to see the hornbills and for a bite to eat. The food is all decent quality and price, especially the spring rolls and fish amok, which were delicious. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was cool with comfortable beds and strong hot showers.

Although the rooms were comfortable, sound really carries in the corridors. I was woken up numerous times by people talking loudly, people shutting doors etc. Also some of the backpackers smoke drugs on the rooftop, the smell of which is really unpleasant and the staff don’t dissuade them.

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, the staff in the restaurant and on the front desk were very accommodating and upbeat. They have a great menu available and cold draught local beer.

The only aspects that i would criticize is, despite putting a please clean me sign on our room door, our linens and towels were not changed once during our 6 night stay, which I feel is not typical. However I am sure if I asked at the front desk they would've accomodated it. Secondly is the no outside food rule, in which you are unable order a grab to the property and eat it in your room (we were in a private room, not a dorm). I understand this in regards to smelly food like durian, but if I have a couple of slices of pizza left after a meal, I would usually be allowed to bring these into the property, but in this case not. We did have a great stay however, these were just a couple of things that stood out.

We had an excellent stay at pooltop Phnom Penh and it’s great value for money. The staff was so friendly and polite. The benefit of the hostel/hotel was the pool on the rooftop after a long day of the warm weather it was so nice to dip in the pool. The sky bar is amazing too and our room was spot on. The location is perfect and only a couple of minutes away was the night market and a few sightseeing seeing spots. Also on one night we booked the kun khmer fighting tour for only €8!! Such good value for money and an amazing time with the boxing match and transport return, Thankyou ❤️

The bed mattress was a little too hard but overall perfect facilities and I couldn’t fault them!!

Nice location. Within walking distance of all important tourist attractions. Clean facilities and rooms. A well-equipped hotel, in short. Phnom Penh is a tropical-climate city so aircons are in full operation all the time in each room, which I really liked.

Many mosquitoes flew in the room, which left me with plenty of bites on both my arms. No hangers in the bathroom. Had problems hanging my clothes while showering. Upon arrival, check-in staff asked for either US$10 worth of cash or the submission of passport as damage deposit. But of course, the next day everything was returned without any hassle, as promised.

I was very pleased by this hotel. It was extremely clean, location was exactly what's we needed (close to Riverside, garden area, and bus station. Excellent restaurant and food. Lovely pooltop area also. Lovely, comfortable, clean and firm mattress. Staff were all helpful.

A little downside was that our room had no outside facing window. And it was a little on the small side . We would have preferred a slightly lightly larger room as we were also travelling with our toddler. We only stayed for one night though so it was doable. Another downside was the bathroom had no outside facing window. I say outside facing as the room did have one small window but it faced the hallway. So there was no fresh air or natural light. But this is just a minor inconvenience. Because of this, (no window) there is a no food in room rule. Which we understood, but this again could be seen as a minor inconvenience, if you were to go shopping or prefer something to eat from outside rather than the restaurant.

Haven't stayed in a lot of dorms before, so I'm happy this experience set a good baseline for me. The beds have semi-curtains for privacy, charging point and reading light. 2x toilets & a shower in your 10-bed dorm so no need to walk far for the bathroom. Big lockers with locks already on them. You can get lots of yummy food options for under $5 which was great! You also get a free water refill when you order food. Pool is cleaned every morning. We came for the Water Festival and the location was amazing! Also close to where many of the buses arrive/depart.

Like any backpackers I guess, since the dorm didn't have any windows for natural light, you'd have to do everything in the dark as others are still in bed till noon. Not necessarily something we disliked but just to know there will be a $10 deposit as you check in.

The location was the best aspect and it was good value for money given that I wanted to stay in a room with private bathroom

The room didn't have any windows. They also provided flip-flops to wear in the room but to be honest it's better not to give any flip-flops then putting them there. They don't look very hygienic and if they want to give flip flops it's better to give guests single-use ones rather than once that have been used by many customers prior.
