We always stay here when we travel to Fernie. It seemed more organized and managed better by front-end staff this year. In previous years, there have been long waits at the front desk. We love the balcony with river view, pool facility, and waterslide. My kids love the game room, though we spent a silly amount of money on the stuffed animal claw game 😆. More actual arcade type games and or air hockey would be a great addition. The indian restaurant is nice and yummy food. The breakfast included is good. They have a decent selection, and its nice having a pancake and waffle machine. It helps speed up the wait time. The kids love the pancake maker.

It would be nice to be closer to town but the location is fine. There is a bike path to town. The beds are a bit hard. We were there for 4 nights, and my sholders were sore for a week after (but I like a softer bed) We stayed in one of the jacuzzi rooms, which is fun and we enjoyed. Time for some upkeep and maintenance. I have an eye for detail, so it was hard not to look at the filthy and beat-up baseboards and wall scrapes etcetra. Needs a deep cleaning in the nooks and crannys and some paint, but no harm done. The room is still great.

The hotel was very clean and the room was a decent size for the 4 of us plus a bit of hiking gear. the games room and pool were a hit with our 13yr old and 1.5yr old and made it easy to provide entertainment when most of our trip plans got canceled due to rain. The pool is very clean has change rooms if needed, the waterslide is thrilling enough for a teen and adults but mild enough we could take our toddler down for her first time ever and she adored it. The outdoor hot tub was our favorite way to kill some time in the afternoons as we talked and looked around at the great view. Location was perfect for us as we were close enough to everything but not in a busy area (you do hear the road but that doesn't phase us). We even took nightly and morning walks along the river right behind the hotel and saw beavers. The free breakfast had lots of quick options and I was very happy to see gluten free options for myself after 2 weeks of traveling and having zero gluten free options in other hotels. The Indian restaurant is incredible and we joked that we would travel back for the food alone! We are big fans of curry and have tried many places and this was hands down the best we had had. I had made a mistake when ordering and got myself a non gluten free dish (100% my error as I was tired and forgot to notify them of my allergy) so we got it packed to go for my partner and they had a new one out to us very quickly so I could still eat with my family. The staff were some of the nicest people we have met and I wish I got their names so they could get the recognition they deserve! They interacted so well with our toddler, chatted with us as we waited, and never once made us feel bad about our toddler being a bit wild. Was this the fanciest hotel I've stayed in? Not at all. Will I be back? 100%. It ticked all of our boxes as a traveling family. And it was very affordable compared to other places in Fernie!

As others have said, the place is a little bit outdated, but not in a run down way. We expected based on some reviews for the room to be in worse shape and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The bed wasn't very comfy but we have stayed at a lot of hotels and find this is usually the case so not a deal breaker. Staff didn't really interact with us much when we saw them which left a bit to be desired in terms of friendly atmosphere but they were friendly enough when we did interact. (Staff at the restaurant were incredibly friendly and helpful though 10/10 experience).

The bed and pillows are very comfortable. I stayed at the family room, very spacious. The 2 boys had a lot of fun at the pool. Hubby and I really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. The restaurant is very charming and food was good. As a family we had the chicken pasta , butter chicken meal..all very good

Easy fix, the toasters don't work very well, buy new ones. Also the toasters and the pancake machine area gets very crowded, as people need to wait for the food to cook. Moving the toasters and the pancake machine away from each other would make the breakfast room less crowded. No big deal, just an idea.

Breakfast was great, my husband and grandson really like being able to make their own waffles. My grandson loved making the pancakes with the push of a button. Room was clean, beds were excellent. Our grandson would rate the pool/waterslide 10/10 - he had so much fun. I know the pool area is small, but more places to sit (chairs) at the pool would be great. There needs to be places to put your towel (hooks) so they don't get wet, as the floor area is very wet. Restaurant - great, servers were very polite and accommodating, foods was wonderful

Didn't care for the games room - claw machines to pick up the plush animals especially, felt it was a rip off and kids not understand. Really enjoyed the hockey game.

We loved our stay! Our room was in the perfect position overlooking the river & stunning mountain scenery with a lovely balcony. Checkin was smooth & the staff were friendly & efficient. The accommodation was very clean & well presented with comfortable beds. We really enjoyed the free continental breakfast of boiled eggs, pancakes, waffles, yoghurt, oranges.. There was not time to experience the hot tub, pool or spa but they look great in the photos. We look forward to staying again!

Nothing we didn’t like

Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Jacuzzi was nice and hot, which was good since it is outside. Pool has a giant slide which was fun to use. The staff was very accommodating, turning on the slide and jacuzzi for us since nobody else was using them. Laundry facility was clean and easy to use.

We were on the road side of the facility and the noise in the morning was a little loud. Tables at the complimentary breakfast were not very clean.

Beds were super comfy. Loved having a balcony. Pool, hot tub and sauna were alot of fun and also the games room. So much to do with the kids. Close river access with walking paths.

Games room was a little expensive. The continental breakfast in the morning was a little disappointing. Would love to see some more warm breakfast options like scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon. Fresh fruit/veggies possibly

Room was spacious and comfortable. It was nice to have a patio with a view of the river and surrounding mountains. The restaurant in the hotel was a great addition to the stay and the food was delicious.

Breakfast could have been better, but I am not much of a breakfast person anyway. It was just continental with toast and waffles, no other hot food. Location is really within walking distance to any other restaurants or bars than the one in the Hotel and cab service in Fernie is extremely limited.

One of the best value/money hotel in Fernie. Good location, minutes from the Fernie Alpine Resort and the downtown. Our room was on the river side so less noisy than on road side. Room fit 6 persons (2dble queen + 1 king). The breakfast is good and you can eat on the terrace. Also there is a restaurant in the hotel, indian/western food which was good. Nice swimming pool with a big slide for the kids.

Maybe an update on the room (furniture and a large Tv)

Nestled right next to the mountains. The food at Tandoor was amazing! The jacuzzi suite was comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely stay again.

The screen door on the patio did not open and close easily. I loved the room, but ours faced towards the front, so with the patio open we could hear the loud sounds of the highway, which is right beside the hotel. Because the loft is higher, it was quite warm, so would recommend table side fans.
