We loved our stay at Basecamp Lodge. The self check in was simple and it was handy having a room code so we didn't have to share a key. The room was clean, the beds were really comfortable with good pillows and the bathroom was clean with a good hot shower. The shared lounge and kitchen area were great with free hot drinks 24/7, an ice machine and various appliances to use. We used this area to prepare our packed lunch each day. We didn't see many staff but those we did see were helpful and friendly. It is on the outskirts of town but 5-10 minute walk along the river to downtown where there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. Also plenty of parking

The walls are a bit thin and there was a lot of noise from the room next door to ours on the first night. After this we didn't hear anyone (we stayed 3 nights) There are ear plugs provided in the bathroom

Check in was very easy. Staff were excellent, but not always available. Room was clean, but small, just big enough for all of the beds. The common area was big and allowed for groups to meet, allowing privacy. Also there were picnic tables outside on the deck offered other options to visit.

We left early but there was no one to check us out. I didn’t notice that we could have done this by text or email until it was well past the time for check out.

The place is beautiful with a cozy common area. It was very easy to check in and check out. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Even though they don’t provide breakfast, they had instant oats that were enough for us as a breakfast. They also have an area with a microwave and a coffee machine. Great stay overall!

The only bad thing about this place is the noise - you can hear a lot of what is happening in the other rooms. Sometimes it even feels like neighbours are in your room :D but I think hotel is aware of this problem, so they provide you with the earplugs to use during the night time - it solves the problem.

Lovely log cabin type building with large entrance area and lots of parking. Across the street from the river. The breakfast area (I cant recall if the room included breakfast or if this was an added bonus) has porridge, coffee and teas available (no cost) and an area for heating food and hot water as well (which was nice).

Room was quite tight. Not much room getting around the bed. And bathroom was quite tight as well with not much room for your toiletries. Hotel was a few blocks from the main strip (10 minute walk) and in an industrial area (was quiet though).

Great location right by the river and extensive walking paths. View of the mountains from some rooms. The log-style lobby was welcoming, and the mountain lodge theme continued throughout. The breakfast set up was good as they welcomed guests bringing their own food in. The shared kitchen provided a coffee machine, toaster, microwave and sink. Good value for families who reserve the loft style rooms, which have two single beds upstairs and a queen bed downstairs. Lodge vibe without the high price of well-known larger lodges.

The room we had was supposed to have a view of the mountains. However, due to the way the bed was positioned, we had a view of the tile entry roof. Also, they are very strict about check-in and check-out times. No budge on that .

The rooms and the lodge were beautiful as pictured. The beds were comfortable, and the complementary coffee and tea were great. Staff were responsive to texted questions.

The property is self check in, we did not see any staff until the morning when we were leaving - and without any staff on site someone was able to bring a dog into the property (in the room next to ours), and the dog barked several times during the night waking us up. We couldn't find any restaurants open within walking distance, but there are many a short drive away.

Early checking setup with passcode entry on mobile. Come and go as you please. I was in a wheel chair ♿️ access room and was very comfortable. I really liked all the soap, wash, conditioner in the tub area full and easy to use. There were plenty of towels and the fridge worked fine for my travel cooler needs. Location excellent.

There was no Clean Remote Program. Once you've seen it and used it...tell everyone about it The lodge is not sound proof. Expect a dose of traffic thru the nights and early mornings as folks are on adventures. Bathroom fan seemed non operational?? Climate control is manual with baseboard heater. You will have to adjust to find your sweetspot

We have stayed at Basecamp Golden a few times. It has a very cozy atmosphere and is conveniently located close to downtown, the road to Kicking Horse ski hill and the highway. The beds are very comfortable and we like having a fridge in the room to store delicious leftovers from Red Tomato Pies and Reposados (if we can control ourselves and not eat it all). There is also a great common lounge area with fireplace and freely accessible oatmeal and hot beverages.

The showers and bathrooms in general are quite small and noise from the hallways and common area can travel a bit given the small size of the facility (but it's generally a fairly quiet place).

We loved the open kitchen area where we were able to prep our own food. I sensed a backpacker vibe from my old travelling days where some hotels will provide an open style kitchen for those who want to make their own food, to save on a bit of money. I actually think this is a great idea tbh and more hotels should do this. I also left my digital watch behind and staff were very efficient in reaching out to me so that I was able to arrange a pick up with Purolator and get my watch back in one piece.

Soundproofing was a little poor, wasn't horrendous; it was more the steps or the movement of people in the next room though noise was relatively minimal.

The room was warm, spacious and comfortable. The staff were so wonderful! The best service we’ve had in Canada. The woman at the front desk was kind and extremely helpful. I would come back to stay again purely because the staff were so great.

There is no sound proofing. Its great you provide ear plugs and that helped, but our neighbours were up really late and the walls are so thin I could literally hear them sneeze
