very scenic location, great to be close to, but not on top of all the ski activities. Our room was large, with comfortable king size bed and patio with back access. There were very few hanging places for coats etc., the closet area was taken up with the fridge and coffee making facilities, and only 2 dining style chairs to sit/hang things over. The bathroom was large, but not a good use of space, no hooks except behind the door or shelves for toiletries etc. also, it was a shame that the breakfast goods were all pre packaged, so much waste was generated, with no recycling. All in all a lovely lodge, the main lounge was cosy, we oldies spent a lot of time relaxing there and enjoyed chatting to the friendly, helpful and efficient staff. But you are missing a trick with seemingly small details that are actually quite important when guests think about re booking.

The lodge was lovely, staff exceptionally friendly. Bistro food was very good. I would suggest that the breakfast could have some more cold options other than cereal and toast. Local bakery products, boiled eggs, fresh local bagels, (loved the homemade granola BTW), fresh muffins rather than packaged (over processed). It would be nice to have an infra red Sauna and a hot tub to make the lodge experience more valueblen for money.

Snow conditions. But you can’t control that. We came to ski but decided not to spend the $. Hiked, snowmobile and cross country all excellent. The jets in the bathtub did. It work.

Gorgeous space with kind and helpful staff! The shared space downstairs was a bonus as well as fridge in the room and lovely balcony area with chairs and loungers to lie on.

Only thing we would change is the location in the summer is a little isolated - but as long as you have a car you can get into Golden which has a supermarket etc. Also, there isn’t a restaurant in summer but you can walk 5mins to Peaks Grill which is great. Mosquitos were quite bad too but not the fault of the hotel!

What a gorgeous authentic ski lodge. Furnished with luxurious comfort, big open fire. Lovely room beautifully decorated. Restaurant next door. Staff cleared the fresh snow away from our car, such a great treat. Excellent, friendly staff. Excellent location, amazing views of the forest. Fabulous ski and heated boot storage room.

Breakfast was very basic. Cereal, toast, yoghurt. Would have loved some fresh pastries and a hot protein option. Would be great to have milk available all day for when making a hot drink.

It was a great place to relax and use as a homebase for going up the mountain and other hikes in the area. In addition to the room, you have access to a comfortable lounge, where there is a kettle with tea, microwave and toaster, and plates and cutlery. With the fridge in our room, this meant we could bring a lot of our own food and make our own meals quite easily. It does take about 15 or 20 minutes to get into Golden, but this wasn’t a problem for us. We went out for dinner in the town one night, but spent the rest of our time hiking and lounging at the lodge. The staff were exceptional, super friendly, and incredibly helpful. Can’t say enough good things about Tom and his team!

Location was great, the log cabin style building was cosy and comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Fire in the lounge room was beautiful.

No hot tub and bath jets in our bathroom weren’t working. No laundry facilities. A kitchenette would have been great as we were there for 5 nights.

The accommodation at Winston Lodge was great and our host Tom was awesome during our stay, he has a vast knowledge of the area that he shared with us like places to visit and see around Golden BC. Tom treated us like family from when we arrived all the way until we left. He had gone above and beyond our expectations with helping us in a variety ways. We will be keeping in touch with Tom and have gained a new friend. Highly recommended!

Comfy beds and towels, big room, great view - even from the shower/tub! Easy self check in and great communication.

Shame there wasn't anywhere to grab breakfast other than in Golden (the on-resort cafe was closed the day we were there), but that's a minor thing! Just double check what's open in summer beforehand, to avoid it (which I didn't do, whoops).

Tom was very friendly and asked us if we ever needed anything, even offered us a discount coupon for the golden skybridge. The place was very clean. It was a bit of a drive from downtown but we got to enjoy some nice scenery during the drive. The main area always played some nice music. The whole place had a nice vibe and good for a quiet place to relax and spend some time away from the city. Checking in and checking out was incredibly simple!

Some of the softest, fluffiest towels we've ever had. This felt more like staying at a friend's cabin than a hotel. Quaint and charming. The extra information about food choices on and off the resort was very helpful.

It was a very hot day, and even with the window open it was hot at night. Air conditioning would have been appreciated.
