The design of the place was exceptional, as was the attention to detail everywhere. The patio had comfortable chairs and beautiful landscaping. The door from the patio led to the breakfast room. It was like being in France with all the fine decorative touches. The food was simple but good, the usual toast and bagels, yogurt, cereal but with fresh blueberries and strawberries but it seemed special because of the way the table was decorated. There were lovely rugs to sit out on the patio in the evening We arrived in the middle of a heat wave and our room was too hot and they had run out of fans but we were ushered to a much cooler and larger room downstairs by the attendant at the desk. The bed was so comfy I was in heaven

The hotel is still being updated with air conditioning and there were workers busily fixing things but it didn’t detract from the experience.

The Larix far exceeded our expectations! The lobby and the comfy living room downstairs are so artfully done and our bedroom was wonderful. Stunning local art everywhere. Joey and Janet were so friendly and open. Breakfast had everything one could imagine, including fresh lox and bagels!! The gardens and patios outside are beautiful! It truly is a boutique hotel in all good senses of the word, all the way down to the Larix' logo. And the special touch of the hand-crafted soap and face cream in our bathroom was amazing. And thank you, Janet for gifting me a little extra when I mentioned how much I liked it. Will highly recommend you to anyone passing through Kimberly! In gratitude, Suze and Kenny

The Larix exceeded our expectations from the gorgeous and comfortable decor to the excellent location, to the beautifully crafted toiletries, to our welcome from Stephanie & Ted. One of the best pet friendly hotels we have stayed in. Loved the coffee & tea bar and fridge.

Breakfast was fine. It was good that gluten-free bread was available. Staff was helpful.

Coffee at breakfast was weak and uninteresting. Espresso machine in the snack area was too complicated, and many guests were unable to use it. Lighting in the bathroom was inadequate. The entire room was on the dark side, which was okay for one of us. In the shower, the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all in large glass bottles. That seems like a hazard that should be fixed. The conditioner would not come out of the spout no matter how many times it was pumped. It was necessary to take the spout all the way out, and turn the bottle into your hand. Dangerous.

What an absolute surprise of a gem! We rode our bikes through two thunder & lightening storms & gobs of rain from Nelson to Kimberly to arrive at the quaintest hotel we've stayed at. From the moment we arrived we were in love with the building, no expense was spared when it was remodelled from the original office building to hotel. Continental breakfast was superb, customer service was exceptional, location is perfect for walking to the main part of town. What a pleasure it was to support a family owned & operated business! Well definitely stay there again & highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Kimberly.

Breakfast was good and had many choices, the location was nice and you could go outside from there and enjoy breakfast outside. Very nice.

By far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. For a fraction of the price, you get a gorgeous quaint hotel right in town. As soon as you step inside, you feel like you've just walked right into a 5-star resort. Everything about this place, I absolutely love! From the personalized bedrooms (which make you feel like your in a A-frame mountain cabin) to the luxurious lobby area that makes you feel right at home. One very unique feature, about this property, is as soon as you walk in, you can smell the oils in a diffuser (which instantly makes you calm, relaxed and toasty)....and don't get me started on the bathroom condiments (body cream, shampoo, soap, conditioner,etc.) Nice smelly stuff!!! My room had a Smart TV, which was a huge plus! Got to watch either Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney+. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

I didn't get to spend enough time here. This place is so well done that I felt like I had to enjoy every square inch of this property. Most hotel rooms, you are ok staying inside your room.....but at The Larix, you almost feel guilty staying inside your room. This place is sooooo amazing!

The Larix Hotel is a very cozy, comfortable home away from home. There are several sitting areas throughout the house with snacks (cookies, tea, coffee, water) available 24 hours a day. A very nice continental breakfast was included in our stay. The Larix Hotel is pet friendly, we were made to feel very comfortable with our small dog and she enjoyed playing with Louie, one of the house pets.

We did not have any complaints about the Larix Hotel. For a future stay we would prefer a room on the main floor because of our puppy.

Everything from facilities, decor, bed, toiletries, common area all are top notch! But most important are people working there, you do really feel welcome here. Very nice twist on breakfast, great variety of healthy and fresh items. Gentleman that was working in breakfast bar was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Keep it up, guys!

Nothing. If I had to chose one thing, then rooms are on the smaller size. But it wasn't an issue for us at all.
