I liked the rooms and the beach, excellent clear water. I also loved the breakfast and the fact that we could use the paddle boards.
The food was not always good, but staff was super friendly and open for feedback. The staff doesn’t seem to be to coordinate. They have to be more clear about the receipts for consumptions. The music was really bothering. They have four different types of bad quality music, one at the bar in the beach, another at the beach for Pasadias, one at the restaurant and one at the pool. All music devices have terrible sound. That make the whole experience very disturbing.

The positives: Beautiful location, facilities, and room. Wonderful staff - Find Chris on your first day and stick with him, he won't disappoint. The pool was amazing and the perfect temperature. Food and drinks were great.
The con: When we first walked in the room, I noticed there were ear plugs left with the waters and toiletries. I thought, "Hmm, thats odd". The first night was perfectly quiet. But come Friday, I realized why there is a need for ear plugs when the bass from another establishment started to vibrate the room. This went on well into the night. Same thing Saturday night. This is no fault of Isla del Encanto but do know that if you go for a weekend, you might want to use the ear plugs.

Firstly, the location is stunning. As you arrive via the boat, you are immediately greeted by staff with a glass of fresh juice, and get to take in the beautiful property. You truly feel removed from society and like you’re at the edge of the world. Overall, we had an amazing experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and go out of their way for you. The staff were definitely a large factor to why we had such a great time here! The rooms were very clean and well maintained, and so is the property. There was only about 20 rooms, so it never felt crowded by guests, and there was truly very little to do but unwind and relax. It was exactly the vacation we were looking for. Whilst we had an incredibly lovely time, there are some considerations that i didn’t really see in too many reviews. They didn’t bother us, but worth noting: - all meals are included. Breakfast is buffet from 7-9, and lunch (12-2) and dinner (7-9) are a la carte. The meals are not groundbreaking, but they are tasty and fresh. If you are vegetarian/vegan, there were limited to no options i could see. You get complimentary water, soda and juice with your meals. - alcohol needs to be purchased, which was fine for us. The bartender inside the pool bar made a great pina colada! Also, other drinks like extra water need to be purchased throughout your stay. - the hotel opens up to ‘day trippers’ from 10-3 every day. There is usually about 50 of them, they are not really allowed on most of the property and have a seperate place to eat. However, you do share the beach with them (though hotel guests get first pick of lounges). For the most part, they did not impact our stay much, and if we got overwhelmed by people , we just moved to the pool area. - not many of the staff spoke English, and we didn’t speak much Spanish. Even so, communication was almost never an issue. We smiled, nodded, pointed and ultimately communicated with one another.
The only downfall to this beautiful and relaxing resort, was the late night music blasting from the nearby town. We thought there was a club right behind the resort because the bass at the night was so loud and annoying, but the property manager informed us in was from the nearby town where the local residents like to party late on weekends (until 2 or 3 in the morning). However, this happened 3 of the 4 nights we were there. If you’re extremely sensitive to noise like my partner is, take some good quality ear plugs! Whilst this really bothered us, it wasn’t quite enough to detract from all the things we loved about the resort.

The staff were friendly and helpful and tried hard to get to know us. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was wonderful. The air conditioning and water pressure in the showers were great! The drinks were great.
The water by the resort was murky and the excursions were over charged. Everything was extra other than your meals. The beds were hard and the water was not drinkable- only given 2 bottles a day for free. The food was subpar. It was open to day travelers during the day but they mostly stayed on one side of the resort. Not much to do for kids.

The staff were extremely attentive, the food was wonderful and always so fresh and flavorful, the room was comfortable and spacious and always clean. We loved the beach and pools! We were there during the offseason so it never too crowded. Transportation there was so easy and we loved having that included. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a beach getaway near Cartagena
The music at the beach was on repeat… the same 5 songs for our entire 3 days. The music at the pools was loud too. It would have been more peaceful with no music. Our shower never had hot water. We tried it various times a day and told staff but it wasn’t fixed.

The property is located at the end of the Baru peninsular and the grounds are mainly well maintained and beautiful. The room was very comfortable indeed. The pool is salt water but very pleasant.
The food was very second rate. Breakfast was substantial and the fruit is excellent, but lunch and supper are dismal. The starter options are the same daily: a very dull salad, or soup (in a boiling hot country). The quality and presentation of the food is not good. And the chef has a passion for decorating the plates with multi-coloured mayonnaise. Breakfast is served strictly between 7am and 9am. Far too early when you are on vacation. Not a single cupboard or drawer to store your clothes. This is NOT an all inclusive hotel: it is full board, and you pay for any additional food/drinks items throughout the day.

The facilities are absolutely gorgeous, from the rooms to the pools. The pools are warm but refreshing and the lounges/chairs nearby are kept spotless. We had an amazing view from our room with great air conditioning, plenty of hot water, and a luxurious rainfall showerhead. Appreciated the bottled water in the room and the cooler to refill our bottles in the restaurant area (the hotel had originally told us none would be available and we'd have to purchase water so we brought a UV water purifier which we didn't end up needing). The beach is small, but very lovely. We also took a fantastic sunset boat tour to a private island where we swam and watched the sunset and then snorkeled in the mangroves after dark on the way home to experience the bioluminescent plankton, which was amazing and highly recommended! The best aspect of our trip, however, was the delicious food and amazing service from our server Denise! She made sure my dietary needs were met, even having the kitchen prepare me special meals so I could get exactly what I wanted, and went above and beyond to make our dinners special. Every single meal we had was amazing!
Nothing! Our room did leak in a massive storm one night but the staff came promptly to clean up and address an issue with our door caused by the humidity as a result. When the issue couldn't be fully resolved they moved us to a larger, upgraded suite free of charge and moved all of our belongings for us so we didn't miss any time by the pool.

Personnel was very welcoming, I asked to change a table because I wanted a better location for the honeymoon and they not only changed me the table, but prepared a dessert for us with “Felicitationes” this was a very nice surprise.
Let’s say that for tourists reaching Baru’ by car can be shocking, the city itself and the locals trying to stop the car for asking for money and the deep poverty of the village. Probably resorts that are located in the area should invest more money in the society around them and support more the village. This is more about the location, not the property.

Everything!!! Our stay at the hotel was worth every minute, from the boat ride from the dock to our return. The rooms are super spacious and comfortable, the staff is super friendly, the food is very typical and delicious. If you are looking for a place to really disconnect, relax in front of the beach and enjoy the advantages of being on an island, Islas del Encanto is the place. Many thabks to Dennise, Christian, Alicia, Martin and Lore for your outstanding service.
If I had to mention something bad it would be the attitude of the guy who is in charge of providing the small boat for free activities as he was suppposed to offer us 2 boats but only just gave us 1 without having any other guests waiting and all the small boat available.

Wonderful facility with great saltwater swiming pool. Perfect place to relax with children; not all places on the island are suitable for young kids and this is an exception, we had a 7-year old and it was wonderful. You have access to the pool and the beach. Exceptionally good food and service; we thought the food selection was amazing. We appreciated how simple they made the transport, including picking us up from our accommodation in Cartagena and organizing everything for the boat ride that is included in the price of the hotel. Organize staff keeps the place very clean.
There should be more transparency about the room selection. On the website all they advertise are photos of beautiful suits, which overlook the pool. We thought this was what we booked on Booking.com. We were very surprised when our group arrived was given what seemed like the only two rooms that were not those nice rooms - apparently we selected two standard rooms, which was what Booking.com recommended to us for the size of our party (6 people, we requested 2 rooms). These really felt like "extra" rooms for staff to use. They were far less nice than the rooms they promote, directly next to the reception and very shaky and you can hear everything. For the full experience, make sure you book what you think you are booking. Junior suits are the nice rooms. We still had a wonderful time!
