Grand spaces, plenty of common lounge and courtyard for working and eating. Super friendly staff; one of whom very handsome. Excellent location with great restaurant scene and park within easy walking distance.

Noise carries: slamming doors, voices from lobby… Some elements in disrepair and hot water in shower unpredictable.

Very charming hotel, ideally located just around the corner of the food district. The room was not big but nice and comfortable. Good hygiene. Staff was very friendly. Perfect for a short stay!

Because the rooms are not very well insulated and located next to the lobby, you can here what's going on in there quite well. Fortunately it's not a really busy and loud hotel so it didn't really bother us. Also there is an unguarded train track right behind the hotel, meaning the trains sound their horn every few minutes early in the morning... So earplugs are advised.

The building and reception area is a very pretty historic house and the style runs through the rooms with colourful touches like patterned tiles and brightly painted walls. Our room had thoughtful extras like a hairdryer, hidden wardrobe and the shower was hot and high pressure. The staff were lovely - held my parking space when we were late to arrive at night and the whole stay was very reasonably priced.

The enclosed garden was lovely and great for families with kids. Staff was very helpful and friendly. That was the highlight. As a single-level boutique hotel, we could put the kids to bed and stay in the common area with our room (and nearly all rooms) in sight. This is a big plus for parents with little kids. At the same time, the door blocked noise well and the hotel was quiet.

The rooms are not equipped with a coffee machine, mugs or glasses. The plugs are hard to access.

Great value if staying for one night as it’s close to some nice coffee shops and restaurants. We arrived late as our plane was delayed and there was no problem with the midnight check in. Airport pick up was smooth.

The room is very basic so don’t expect five star. But the hotel common areas have interesting decor and style.

The building is very nice, the room was small but nice and clean, so was the bathroom. The patio was very beautiful. The location is good, the neighbourhood is rich and safe, so perfect if it's what you're looking for. Reception is open 24h and we were received at 3 in the morning, so, again, excellent service.

we couldn't have breakfast because it was just past 10. ok, a bit late maybe, but we arrived at 3 in the morning and we would have appreciated some flexibility. Neighbourhood is very expensive.

This small hotel was charming. The location was good for an easy ride or good walk to the main plaza. The staff was excellent letting us leave our bags on the ladt day while we shopped and finding us a taxi to Alajuela. I likedthis moderately piced hotel.

Friendly staff, breakfast was good. Cleaned room daily and changed towels daily. Perfect location, close to restaurants

Did get cold at night, not enough bedding. Room occasionally had a damp/ musty smell. Train behind hotel very loud in morning

Nice and welcoming staff, family run. Located in an old charming building, with an internal courtyard. A few minutes away from restaurants and bars. Very well located for going to the museums, Mercado Central, etc.
