Huge & deep bathtub with hot water (a rarity in Costa Rica). The location was fantastic, and my room overlooked a beautiful park. It is within walking distance to most of the museums and tourist sites, but not in a major traffic/crowded area. I felt very safe walking around by myself. Room was large and comfy - loved the bed and pillows. The hotel is right next to a casino with a nice restaurant (you get 20% off your meal there for being a hotel guest). The breakfast was decent. 12 p.m. check out. Good Wi-Fi in my room. The hotel staff was very accommodating, and there was secured parking and a guard out front. I sincerely feel I got a great room for the price. I would absolutely recommend this hotel as well as stay there again.

I have nothing to complain about. Thought all was great - keeping in mind that this is a 3-star hotel and not the Ritz Carlton. So, base your expectations on that. Oh - and be mindful that you are in a Spanish speaking country, so don't get annoyed if only a couple of the TV channels are in English. . .

Clean comfortable

I messaged to ask about airport shuttle but never received an answer so I had to pay 40$ for a taxi on my own reason I booked here was for the airport shuttle

After travelling for weeks, I was very pleased to find a bath in the room, hot water, no insects, working air conditioning, a fridge and a coffee machine. And a massive bed! Luxury!

The hotel is slightly set back from the road and there are upper and lower levels.. this made me panic about a taxi pick up that I had booked. Walking distance to lots of places was easy but the area did feel. Bit seedy alone at night as a solo female traveller.. but that's the same everywhere.. No pool. There is a weights room / gym though, and a casino.

Excellent and very friendly staff, clean rooms, great location for the museums tours we wanted. Nearly all staff spoke English even though I can speak poor Spanish. Rooms were very quiet from the city noise. Had parking which was important for us. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of food although I would have liked an omelet bar. All in all a great value and close to many things that we wanted. We requested an extended check-out that was granted, (although it turned out that it was not needed after all), We were also able to check-in early which was very nice. We would recommend this hotel and will stay again when we have visitors that want to visit San Jose.

The shower heads should be replaced as they are not strong or with a lot of flow. We had to request some more pillows as ours were small and not really comfortable. The replacements were larger and comfortable. We were a bit disappointed in the sports bar as it was quite small but the casino and restaurant were larger and nice. The menu looked good but we did not sample the fare. We really just wanted some cocktails and snacks but they offered no appetizers or snacks. This was the biggest downside of the restaurant.

I was able to leave my bags with them, the room a decent size, the staff were friendly and it felt safe

Someone was chatting I assume to the security guard outside on/off most of the night, it was quite distracting Also I had two bookings for consecutive nights due to availability and not being able to change the original booking, I was able to change it on arrival to avoid changing rooms which was great but, I was only able to pay for the first night, which meant that I was on the check out list the following morning and even though I paid for the 2nd before breakfast when I arrived later in the day, my key had been deactivated and the cleaners had to let me in (I'd explained to them before popping out that I shouldn't be on the list as I wasn't leaving that day) It would have made more sense to be able to pay for both when checking in

I was able to drop my bags off before check in and to check in slightly early I was only there a short while as I had an early bus to catch but the staff were friendly and also looked after my bags for a few days so I could explore

I think a sign is needed by the lifts to draw peoples attention to the fact that there are rooms beside it, as other guests were quite noisy standing, chatting outside the door There was also some work going on in the room next door and a couple of times it sounded like they were trying to get into my room, as opposed to being in the next room working

I like that someone was always willing to help, even regarding translation. I also liked that the hotel could call a taxi, and I used the same taxi driver for all my trips throughout my stay. The location was perfect, where I could go for walks and buy fresh local fruits, bread, and food in walking proximity. The staff was great. I had no complaints. I like the breakfast as well. The fresh fruits were delicious, and the staff were accommodating. I like going to hotels where I can also mingle with the people of the country and eat the various foods that are quite similar to mine, especially tropical fruits, such as guavas, avocados, coconuts, and ackees, to name a few. I also like the measure of security at the hotel.

There was nothing to complain about. I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, with private parking, good breakfast too.

If you’re planning on just sleeping and resting and have transportation available, this is a good choice to stay in, but if you plan on walking around the area, I suggest a different location. The location outside the fenced property did not feel safe at all. My mom and two kids took a walk around, there are museums and lots of shopping options to see but sadly also lots of homeless and drug addicts as well. While walking around one of the museums, a taxi cab stopped by us and warned us that someone had just been robbed at the next block where we were heading to…we were with 2 kids and took no chances, went back to the hotel and took our car and just drove somewhere close by (a shopping mall) instead of walking around the hotel the rest of the day.

The hotel was located very close to all the attractions of San Jose. The staff was very pleasant. The room was spacious enough and we enjoyed having a safe, a fridge and coffee making facilities in the room. This was our 2nd night in this hotel during our stay in Costa Rica. We were very pleased to get a room which was not giving out on the main street as we had on our first visit as it was rather noisy. The breakfast was very adequate with a good choice of food at the buffet. It was nice to get some toiletries. Having the possibility of parking our car for free in a safe space was a plus. Being able to use the computers and the printer in the reception hall was very handy to print our boarding cards. Thank you very much to all the staff that made our stay a very pleasant one.

The air conditioning unit was rather loud. There was no shower gel in the toiletry selection.

This was probably the quietest hotel that I have stayed at in San Jose - being so close to the train station, I was sure I'd be woken by the train but wasn't, nor could you hear the casino (my room faced it) I also arrived early to drop my bag off and was able to check in early, which made my day so much easier I have also never had a room cleaned so quickly, I popped to breakfast, returned and it had been done! PS the bed was huge

The area can be a little sketchy at times, there has been a sad increase in homelessness in the area, most don't bother you but this time a few made me feel quite uneasy, you also want to avoid the road by El Rey of a night, knowing the area is part of the reason I have not stayed here before but my overall stay was great, so I will return No ceiling lights only lamps made the room a little dark
