We got picked up form the parking lot and shuttled up to the hotel. Later in the conversation we realized that it was the owner of the place himself. Very cool dude, very helpful and he made sure our stay was as comfy as possible. The staff are very nice as well, very polite and service oriented. They have a beautiful terrace with a stunning view. Breakfast was always plentiful and tasty. I love how they always make you fresh scrambled eggs and you can choose if you want them with truffles or just plain. The room was in the second building, very clean, spacious and minimalisticaly but very nicely furnished.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Great location and it was close to parking. There is a possibility to arrange transport from the parking place to the accommodation, but is necessary only if you have a lot of bags in my opinion. Otherwise, it is a nice walk. Our room was cosy and we had everything we needed - towels, hair dryer, additional blankets and pillows, great AC, nice view to old city gate. Breakfast was also included and it was excellent, a lot of things to choose from, and we especially liked freshly made scrambled eggs - I recommend truffle version. Drinks are also available to buy at the property but they also have a small bar just across the narrow street. What we really liked was the terrace where we enjoyed the breakfast - the terrace has the view of the Mirna river valley and it was so relaxing.

They allowed our group of 6 to take all 3 rooms on the same floor instead of the other building, I think because we'd been there before and had fond memories of the deck right off that 2nd floor. Our host was wonderful! She made us feel totally at home. The breakfast she provided was excellent. If we get to go to Croatia again, we will definitely stay at the Villa Borgo and enjoy the peaceful beauty of Motovun! I hope we will have our same hostess--she was beloved by all of us!

Honestly, nothing! It would have been nice if the weather had been a bit warmer, but Villa Borgo did not disappoint!

The property is located in the most beautiful part with an amazing view. The staff was amazing, they helped us to book also the dinner in the best restaurant. I would personally recommend to choose a higher room with view as room 1 is facing the terrace where is served the breakfast so we were awake early. However we enjoyed everything! Amazing place

Everything was great ( only that our room 1 was directly in the terrace where people eating or drinking in the evening, a bit disturbing as you could not open the window and enjoy the view)

The hotel makes you feel welcome, more like you came to visit friends that just staying at a hotel. The staff goes out of their way to accomodate your requests and trusts you with anything, from bar to kitchen to use as you wish. Location in the heart of Motovun also couldn't be better. Breakfast is great and scrambled eggs with truffles a must, you're in the heart of the truffle country after all. Visiting the place in the winter proved the hotel is well heated, as opposed to many locations in the region that are great in the summer but lack proper heating. Everything is impeccably clean and friendly, so definitely one of the better holiday experience.

When you stay in medieval house, you have to deal with narrow corridors, steep and a bit creaky steps and small rooms. Sound-proofing could be better, ventilation of bathrooms too, TV sets could be bigger, decoration fancier. Some guests may consider these an issue, but we just embraced it as a part of a great overall experience and enjoyed every detail.

Great place. Amazing views from our room looking down into the valley. The window in our room was on the small side, but we expected this from the pictures provided. There were even better and more expansive views from their balcony where we had B&B breakfast, as well as from the cafe/bar next door. Breakfast was really good! Eggs cooked to order and freshly made croissants that we could see them cooking on the stove, plus other stuff too, everything was very good. They let us store our bikes in a restaurant storage room across the street. Staff were all very friendly. Great place!

Would love to come back here, it was fantastic! Maybe next time to save a little money, we'd get a room without the panoramic view, mainly because there are so many other great places close by to see wonderful views, and the window was a bit small. (Don't get me wrong, we still enjoyed looking out our window!)

I loved being able to sleep up on the mountain top. The breakfast was a perfect way to get a good start to the day. Breathtaking views on top of the terrace. Walking distance to several restaurants. They have shuttle service to bring luggage up the hill.

One of the negatives was also one of the positives. It was up on the mountain top and restricted to cars. Steep climb up the hill at the end of the day. But this is expected with a historic village and frankly part of the charm. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who has mobility issues, but for anyone else, it is worth the stay.

Motovun is a charming village, and so is the Villa Borgo. Staff was great, checking-in after hours was not a problem at all(they gave us instructions how to self-check-in, where to park, etc) Breakfast was very good, and with an awesome view of the surroundings from the terrace. Room, while not particularly big, was adequate and clean, nicely arranged.

Air-conditioning solution in the room is just terrible. It's a one-in-all system so when it operates it very noisy as the compressor is within the unit, inside the room. In order to be able to fall asleep we had to switch it off and open the windows, which only made a different noise problem - 20m away is a restaurant terrace, with its slightly or less-slightly drunk guests talking loudly until 1am or so. Thank good I brought earplugs with me, they were able to bring the noise to a minimum acceptable level.

My fiancé and I stayed here right after getting engaged in nearby Vrsar, it was a perfect way to celebrate our engagement and we left wanting to come back. The staff, especially Antonela were incredible and went above and beyond for us. We wanted to go truffle hunting the following day we arrived, and Antonela made sure it happened! They helped us with our laundry, and dinner arrangements. They were also so helpful to us in making further holiday arrangements beyond Motovun. Watching the sunset from the terrace is something to behold, we both thought we were living in a dream. The room on the top floor in which we stayed in, had an incredible view too! The breakfast was great, with freshly made scrambled eggs, among other options. We would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Motovun.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Borgo - a very charming and rather quirky place with amazing views. Slavin and his team were warm, friendly and extremely hospitable. Slavin in particular deserves a shout out - he picked us up from the car park, seemed genuinely interested in us having a good time, and went the extra mile to find us two bikes so we could go cycling along the nearby trail. He also recommended a route and some fantastic stopping off points, which were great! We thoroughly enjoyed our Motovun experience and would.bot hesitate to recommend Villa Borgo.
