Location and property landscaping were great. Room 111 is on the lower floor and is tucked away from a full ocean view (though it can be seen) but the beach is a short walk across the property. There was no road noise. Ceiling fans allowed comfort without A/C. There is a trail along the beach which was nice for short walks. Lydgate Beach is a 10 minute walk north and it has reasonable snorkeling with lots of fish in two pools that are protected from the surf. It would be great for families with children. The pool on property was very clean and beautiful. Staff was helpful and competent.

Roosters were noisy. If this bothers you our room would not be satisfactory. They weren't a problem for us. The heater was out in the swimming pool during our stay (ending 1/21/22) but the pool was warm enough for day swimming. It was easy to hear people moving around in the unit above us but it was infrequent enough to not be a problem in our case.

SUCH a great value for Kauai. We usually stay at another property on the West side, but the prices there had gone up so much, we decided to try something new and we were thrilled with what we found at Castle Kaha Lani! Our room was lovely, clean, comfortable and spacious with a stunning ocean view. We spent mornings on the balcony with a cup of coffee and late afternoons with a glass of wine. The kitchen was SO well stocked - everything we could possibly have needed. BONUS was lots of beach equipment in our room - boogie board, flippers, chairs, mats, umbrella. I don't know if every room is equipped with all of that, but it was SO appreciated for our many beach days! The property is lovely as well with lots of tropical plants, plumeria, hibiscus and wildlife (as well as the omnipresent roosters/chickens - bring your earplugs!). The property is right on the beach and we took many walks down to Lydgate to snorkel, swim and hang out. We also enjoyed staying on the East side for this trip. Since it's closer to the center of the main island road, it's easier to get to other parts of the island. And Kapaa and Lihue are both close by with plenty of food and drink options. We were SO happy with our stay and will definitely stay again.

There is not a ton of privacy on the"inside" side of the condos, so you just have to be careful to keep your shades drawn when changing! :) Also, mgmt highly recommended we use the safe in the room, but ours was so old, we almost couldn't get it opened again! Needless to say, we didn't try using it again after that and just took our chances. But those are SUCH little things and did not take away from our enjoyment of Castle Kaha Lani and all it had to offer.

there was no hot tub or air conditioning

proximity to airport, shopping, groceries, nightlife, restaurants, all were nearby within a quick trip to town north or south of us by 6 miles or less. Privacy, smallness, grounds, beachfront property, pool, next to two public beaches if you wanted to go, golf course nearby, cook your own meals, like living in your own home, location, location, location to us personally was quiet, relaxing, rejuvenating, and refreshing.

No spa, small pool, no exercise equipment, no restaurant on-site, no groceries on site, needs updated interiors, no a/c, outdated patio furniture on our lanai,

Immaculate outdoors around the property. steps from a 2 mile long deserted beach. big waves in November. incredibly equipped kitchen. lovely lanai.

Unit wasn’t clean. Roosters , chickens and feral cats everywhere. Very noisy at night in our location, east side of property. Roosters start at midnight, chickens fighting themselves or the cats, cats fighting, grounds work on the golf course starts at 5 am. Absolutely no communication from the resort, in spite of a late arrival and drop box instruction required to access the suite.

Location, upstairs unit on third floor, had a FANTASTIC view. Unit was very nicely furnished and stocked nicely - no complaints there. Location is nice and close to cute outside restaurant/bar and swimmable beach. We enjoyed the pool (all 13 of us) and the grill at the pool. Would we stay here again though? Yes, but in a ground unit, which would be cooler.

INCREDIBLY HOT & HUMID in our third-floor unit, which I guess is to be expected, but unit could use at least window air conditioning or more big fans (one provided). Too many steps for my husband and me (we are seniors though) - would go for a ground unit next time. Location is nice, but VERY HARD to turn left onto main road to travel into nearest town with ALL THE TRAFFIC.

Third time in 8 years at the Kaha Lani. The apartment was well equipped and clean. Beach front apartment has a beautiful view.

Depending on other guests education and occupancy of the resort, there is a lot of door slamming

The location was wonderful...steps out to the beach for beautiful sunrises. The property was well-maintained and along a great bike path.

The pictures showed that one room has a set of bunks and another twin bed, but when we arrived the second room only had a queen, which caused my kids to be frustrated b/c they were looking forward to their own beds. However, the staff at the front desk was very helpful in getting us a foldout cot which was much appreciated. The only other issue is that it was humid through the night and the instructions stated that all windows and doors should be kept shut through the night so we could not get the ocean breeze to come through...but without A/C that made it tough to sleep.

Fantastic view and sound of ocean. Nice area for long walks and surf protected snorkeling nearby (although limited species for viewing). our condo was very clean and updated. We were nervous arriving hoping we wouldn’t get a hidden view ground floor with tired decor and features but we got a good one. I’ve read it’s hit or miss. The internet was strong and handled movie streaming very well. Good security team checked on us every night.

Walls are thin and it was noisy. crying baby 1st two nights, neighbors clomping up steps or talking outside. Kitchen could use a few items. There were just 2 mismatched drinking glasses.

Ocean view, accessibility to Lydgate park, location.

Cable TV inoperable during our stay. Cable box defective and had to be replaced. Thus, the one, and only time we tried using the TV in order to watch an NFL playoff game, it did not work, and the office could not help us until the following day. Units at this facility are individually owned. Some units are better maintained than others.
