Overall design of resort, location are fantastic and views are breathtaking. Including pool, dining areas, and rooms. Very good staff. Kind, polite, helpful. Truly a place you could love to be in! Pool area and service around it are one of the highlights. They too need upkeep. However, for a 5 star hotel and price point we expected more. See below.

The resort is aging and so are many of the basics. It needs some serious investment in renewal and updating. A few examples: - Pool side chairs and tables broken/sagging. Pool area needs power wash. Pool should be skimmed every morning - Towels and linens overused - Shabby carpet in lobby area and corridors - Resupplying of room and bedroom inconsistent Overall, we did have 10 amazing days there and really enjoyed ourselves. However, we think that Hyatt could do better with such an amazing place they built, and we hope they do!

The property is beyond stunning and it’s true luxury in the middle of paradise. The rooms: our room was spacious and comfortable. we definitely enjoyed the bed and large bathroom. one perk is if you don’t get it cleaned everyday they give you a $10 food credit. the food: was outstanding. the breakfast buffet is pretty pricey based on our experiences at other hotels but offered a lot of food. try tidepools or splurge on a Share the Stars dinner… the food was absolute perfection. the luau was a lot of fun, food selection wasn’t great but we still enjoyed it. amenities: there are various pools and hot tubs on the resort but we opted for a splash at the beach located right on the property and then headed to the salt water lagoon to relax everyday. complimentary washer and dryers was a very nice touch. but he advised they are usually always full. the fitness center is stocked with everything you’d need for a good lift. location: perfect location on the south shore. right down the road from all the shops and food you could need and Poipu Beach (go there at sunset to see turtles and seals).

Everything in the Resort is fantastic. I enjoyed swimming in the 24-hour learning pool every day. I loved all the hospitality and service from the hotel, especially 'Learning Hawaiian language'. I had a 30 minute Hawaiian language class with my partner. I learned how to read them and the beauty of the language, which was super helpful to understand Hawai'i for the rest of the trip. I highly recommend their Pad Thai at TidePool, one of the hotel restaurants, which was the best one in my life, better than anything I had in Thailand. Also the Hyatt made it possible for a friend to pay for our stay in advance as a wedding gift, unlike for example the Marriott hotel in Honolulu, which was completely rude and unhelpful about this.

Breakfast brunch was great. Loved the live music every night. The pools and lagoons were dreamy. Access to shipwreck beach was quick and easy.

Would have liked a place by the pool where we could get an early dinner to eat and swim in the evening. If Hale Nalu cafe stayed open longer, for example. Loved all the pools but umbrellas were hard to come by. Many lounge chairs would be unoccupied w no umbrella and no shade whereas all the chairs with an umbrella or shade were always taken. Please consider adding more umbrellas around the pools.

the staff were amazing; a really well run and efficient hotel.

not enough choice of restaurants in the evening. Sushi is good but not every night, we didn’t want a buffet and the main restaurant is booked up for 2 months! there are some tables that are available without booking but not in the main restaurant and you aren’t guaranteed a table of course. room service was very good but we wanted to eat out.

The restaurants served good food but the prices were very high.

The distance we had to walk just to get to our room or to breakfast in the morning was exhausting. I think the resort is better situated for young, athletic, and energetic guests. At 76 we found the distance we had to walk to the pool quite daunting.

The staff was amazing, very accommodating and friendly.

The food choices were somewhat limited. It was difficult to get into the restaurant and the food was only okay at the available lounge. We ended up leaving the hotel for other options or using the in room dining options, which were expensive. Our Luau was canceled and the replacement was sub-par and nearly an hour away from the hotel.

Food was good but expensive, as you should expect from resort food. The lack of rental cars on the island made it tough to get around leading to lots of ppl staying on the resort, so finding a table wasn't always easy, but there were lots of options available to mitigate that. Try to book reservations in advance, especially for TidePools as we were disappointed to learn that they are booking 2+ months in advance

The resort was phenomenal. The behavior of some of the other guests was disappointing to say the least, but it's difficult for the resort to control that. All resort staff were exemplary

Pool and restaurants were great. Breakfast included with our room was great addition.

Transportation was brutal. Did not rent a car as we planned to spend most of our time on property. But getting to and from the airport or any outing was inconvenient and expensive. Our room had dirty spots (dried blood on bathroom door). Loud. Could hear clearly neighbor's 5am conference call.
