Beautiful old hotel in the style of the grand European hotels of the early 1900’s, the place is full of original features, stylish updated design and the oldest working elevator in Scandinavia. The staff were super lovely, helpful when I needed to change rooms and the upgrade I got was stunning. Decent breakfast and the garden room is beautiful.

On the street facing the cafes the soundproofing could be better as it can be loud especially on the first floor. Would also recommend putting water in the rooms, just tap water in refillable glass bottles would be adequate

The hotel has had extensive redecoration. It has made it more boutique in style. The reception area is very welcoming. They have kept the character of the original hotel but updated it The room has new furnishings & paint colour scheme & carpet. The location was central & the room was lovely & quiet The bed was super comfy I had the best night's sleep in a hotel in a long time.

The bathrooms as yet have not been redone. They do not reflect the same quality as the rooms The room lacked sufficient lights. The hall needed a light as when you went in the room at night it was very dark.

Old fashion style, very charming and well maintained

The breakfast buffet and other dishes that you can order don’t match the quality of the facilities. I understand they like to maintain a royal standard but when you charge those money you got to present better options. Don’t get me wrong , the food is fresh and taste good just not worth it the money ( specially the pancakes which you have to purchase as extra from the buffet)

This hotel is really beautiful, right in the city center (you won't get a better location than this) and the staff is friendly and helpful. - our room was big - good water pressure - good breakfast with many options - usually quiet

Although the room was nice, it didn't look like the pictures on booking. The pictures on booking are aligned to the overall esthetic of the hotel, our room wasn't. Because the hotel is located in the city center, if there are any events in the city, it might be noisy. There was a festival for the first night we were there and it was really loud, but they gave us ear plugs, which helped. The rest of the nights were really quiet and there were no issues.

Superb location to cover the main town of Aarhus. King Suite was lovely! Very large spacious room. Staff were super friendly

Shame the room did not have mini-bar or snacks, and should come with free water in my opinion (given the price). Check in at 3pm when flights arrive at 9am could be improved, but at least they held on to our bags.

We were totally blown away by how spoilt we felt arriving at this hotel and then entering our room. It was very spacious, even the bathroom, plenty of towels, block out curtains, separate armchairs, it was unbelievable. Absolutely will stay again and will only stay there as the location was amazing, so close to shops and restaurants and not far from the train station (we walked from the train station). The staff were so accommodating. One lady helped us find a laundromat and printed out the name and map for us. Whatever we asked it was not a problem. So very kind people.

Nothing here, we have no complaints or suggestions as the hotel was perfect.

We loved everything about our stay. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Aarhus, but quiet through the night. The staff were really helpful and breakfast was delicious, with something for every taste. We even grew to appreciate the extraordinary murals in the lobby!!

A double duvet on our double bed. Two singles is a very Danish approach!!

The Hotel Royal is very grand! From the reception, which has a giant fish tank built into it, the chair in the lift, and all the amazing portraits of the Danish Kings & Queens for over a thousand years in the hallways. The breakfast is fabulous, the room quiet and the decor was beautiful. I loved my curtains, heated bathroom floor and a face washer. Staff are very friendly, helpful. The hotel is opposite the Cathedral and in the centre of everything. Excellent location. I highly recommend for you to plan a stay here.

All staff without exception were charming. The building had great character and decor and was very well situated in the centre of town. Our room was sizeable with a great view of the cathedral. The breakfast spread was super fresh with a good range of products and fine coffee.

Although our room was sizeable there was a lack of drawer space and hooks for clothing etc Personally I felt the bed was a little too soft and being at the front of the building there was a fair bit of noise from revellers outside, at night.

Beautifully decorated hotel and very comfortable. Unfortunately, there is no free parking, and we had to pay for parking off-site. Small selection for breakfast, although it was delicious. The design of the shower in the bathroom was open, which resulted in water all over the floor. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
