Hummingbirds have always been special to us and Hotel Playa Colibri lived up to it's name! The property was absolutely lovely. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The staff went above and beyond, working their collective magic to make sure we had a wonderful stay. We were touched and grateful for all the efforts of Yury, Aron, Pedro, Saul, Hemie(spelling) - the housekeeping and restaurant staff. WE look forward to returning in the future! Oh and we loved the Holiday decorations "magically" appearing on Dec.1st. Thank you!!!

We enjoyed the whole experience. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff made it special. We opted for full board and were surprised at the quality and variety of food. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and it was great to swim in, so clean. The apartment was traditionally Dominican and very well maintained, having everything we needed. They had thought of everything, even the Cork screw. Air-conditioning units and fans were in each room. Even a fan on the patio.

We should have stayed longer than 2 nights!

I loved the hotel entrance, so pretty and tropical great for pictures. I loved the restaurant being right on the beach. Karaoke was very entertaining! The beach was absolutely beautiful and clean. My son loved the pool and it was great to see him enjoying the water. The hotel room was lovely and clean and very spacious! I would definitely book here again.

I feel that the waitress at the restaurant could have been a bit more quick or engaged. Simple orders like water or a juice took a really long time to receive. They were very friendly and the food was well presented.

The hotel was right on the beach and had its own restaurant that provided wonderful meals, that were priced reasonably, either in the comfort of your room or right on the beach. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast was included and was buffet style. Bed was comfortable and amenities were great. I was pleasantly surprised.

The lights kept going out so that meant the air conditioner kept going out as well. This was not a hotel issue but was a whole town issue. The good thing was that each room had its own fan as well as the air conditioner that continued to work despite the main power going out.

The apartment style of the room, the terrasse, the kitchen and staff cleaning the dishes, the 2 sofas in living room and on terrasse, the wonderful garden, the swimming pool, the silent guests, the location just next to the beach.

Breakfast was very poor, we made our own breakfast. The small street between the hotel and the beach has a lot of moto traffic which is noisy, staff could have been more attentive, but we didn't really had to deal with most of them.

Breastfast was always delicious, very organized, tasty,coffee was excellent. Staff is the best. The Palce in general is peaceful, perfect for a relaxing vacations w kids. Eating, drinking in front of the beach is just amazing. The pool is great, always warm and not too deep, hotel is super clean.

The only thing we didn’t like was the pillows 🙈too hard, we wake up with neck pain every day and the mosquitoes ate me jajaja if I have know I will bring repelente but other than that, I will go again and recommend to families and friends. Excellent staff.

Food was delicious, one day was buffet and then next day a la carte. The room was very ample with kitchen and dining table. We cooked dinner one evening. The beach front was beautiful and most of the staff was very friendly.

There were mosquitos in the room and you have to be insistent with reception to send someone to fumigate

I LOVE this hotel every single time. I feel so lucky that I found it - and it will be the ONLY place I stay in Las Terrenas. What I love the most, besides the beautiful beach and delicious breakfast, is the incredible staff. Thank you to all for making my stay a GREAT one!

The property was stunningly beautiful and literally right on the beach (a small brick road with minimal and mostly 2 wheel traffic is all that separates). The apartment was also first rate. AC configuration was off so family and dining area was always too hot. That’s the only reason I couldn’t give it a 10. Restaurant was right on the beach. had a number of options with the meal plan we added. Food was very good and wait staff was amazing!!

As noted above- the AC was an issue. It wasn’t properly sized so the family room area was always just too hot. Also, there was an issue with the toilet in the master bedroom. I had to fix it myself after maintenance either didn’t show or couldn’t fix it.

lack of attention from staff in a specific request. The toilet had a problem and we were told they will send someone but no one came. we had to fix it on our own excessive security measures: they give you the AC and TV control remote, room keys, and towel card keys in an envelope that you have to return at check out. they also take copies of your IDs, request to know the car you drive, and put a bracelet on that is to identify you are staying in the hotel when you go to the restaurant for breakfast which is across the street. even after all that,at the breakfast buffet, they ask you your room number.
