Loved the family feel and friendly staff. We arrived tired after a long flight and they made us a delicious Dominican dinner and brought it to our room. They had put a travel cot in the room for our baby. In the morning the breakfast was great, you can get one of the standard ones that's included or pay more for other options. I've stayed in a bunch of places in the same area and the shower water is almost always weird smelling and kinda salty, but here it wasn't like that, it was fine. The dogs are really cute and very friendly 🙂 and the gardens are really sweet. I would definitely go back.

I couldn't make the hot water work/it had very low pressure but it's over 30 degrees so you don't really need hot water! I was too tired to go and ask for help 😅

This is our second review, as we stayed a total of 23 days. We already talked about the amenities in our last review, so I’ll talk about the value of this place as a base to explore the island. This is from the perspective of first time visitors, written for other first time visitors. Our initial question in planning our visit to the island was one of value. Was it better to stay at an all-inclusive, or somewhere more homey that allowed us to use our budget differently? If you’re an adventurous type, we advise the second. At the Riviera you’ll get a much more authentic Dominican experience. We highly recommend using it as a base and renting a car. You will, of course, do some guided excursions, but there are other beaches like Macao or Playa Esmeralda for which it’s very useful (necessary in the case of Playa Esmeralda) to have a car. As an example, Playa Esmeralda is a phenomenally beautiful, golden-sand beach, clean, and not crowded. You’ll never get there via the normal tourist venues; you need a car. There are several other places within a couple hours drive (such as Boca de Yuma) which really give you a sense of the real Dominican Republic. We look back on the places we were able to visit by car and it feels like such an adventure. The great thing is we were able to eat breakfast at the hotel, travel through the day, and eat dinner at the hotel at night. Eating out in the DR is not cheap. The hotel offers a great value, especially if you’re able to pay in cash and avoid the high credit card use fees of the DR. Furthermore, you can park your rental within the gates of the hotel for safety. In one day, if you leave early, you can make it to Santo Domingo and back, or Sabana de la mar. You can go even farther if you don’t mind driving back at night.

Riviera punta cana is the pearl between all the hostel in punta cana. We came here to relax and we did. The pool was just the size enough to enjoy water. The shadow of the trees were perfect for protection against the sun. All the family to Marcos,Magdalena and Maya even with Mitches and Chispa made our trip perfect. We passed a perfect time there and the service with Leo, Manuel and the waitress was really good, we improved our Spanish by that way. The room was fine and with the fridge and the ac it was good. If there was something wrong they helped us really quickly. They explained us the culture of republic Dominican and they gave us multiples tips to buy some presents. We enjoyed our summer trip in their B and B. Some information that they can't deal with was just the seaweed on the beach and the noise from an hotel near it by night. Thanks a lot for this time.

That we couldn't stay more time to share with the hosts and the clients

It’s a good place to stay for a couple of days. The rooms are very comfortable and it’s near the beach. Breakfast is included which makes it a very good option.

In general, this is an average hotel, with some issues that probably won’t affect your stay. Major issues are related to the city itself, being expensive and with few options to visit besides the beach. For the prices you find here there are better options such as Acapulco, Cartagena or even Miami. At least in these cities beaches are public.

This place was absolutely gorgeous! Marco and his wife are super nice and friendly hosts, the hotel bar has the best mojito you can find around and all the food we had was super delicious. We even prolonged our stay because it was worth every penny. We will definitely come back one day!

This is a family owned business and you can tell that the owners deeply care about your experience. The location is great - you won’t hear any noises or car honks, and the beach is literally 2 min walk from the property. The hotel territory is really nice and green, with lots of palms and a bar/restaurant that also serves as a reception desk. The staff is very sweet and speaks English, and the owners speak really good English, which seems rare in the DR. The room was spacious and clean, with a nice balcony and many windows. Some of the earlier reviews mentioned lack of Wi-Fi but this has definitely been fixed — there were 3-4 different networks offering great connectivity and speed. I’ve had a much worse experience with a different hotel, so I can’t recommend this place enough. The owners, Marco and Magda, are extremely nice people and are always curious if there is anything they can do to make your stay even better.

The hardware on the doors and windows in my room was very old and flimsy, some windows do not lock (may be a user error). The bed was a bit too small for the two of us, although my partner and I are slim. Aside from that, there’s nothing to complain about

It was super clean and the breakfast was outstanding. The location, with one of the few through roads to the beach, couldn't be beat. It was also very quiet at night.

It isn't that I didn't like anything. Sometimes the staff weren't as people friendly as one would expect. Something on the grounds attracted sand fleas or jejenes. Overall, in a sea of mega resorts, these are really small issues.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They helped us book the tours and activities for our stay. The breakfast was nice too. Good quantities and wide variety. The hotel is located a few meters from the beach. The rooms were really big, with a nice big balcony. The air conditioning worked well.

We were not aware that the water for the shower gets heated by the sun, meaning in the morning and evening there is no warm water.

Great place, near the beach and close to the main street. Ideal for those who want to socialize. The european family that runs the business always takes care of the customers. They can recommend the best tours in the area and will help you with an adapter or another needs.

If you don't know Spanish, communication with the bar and kitchen staff can be difficult (not everyone speaks English), but someone appears and saves you.

I read reviews of others and was informed in advance about the level of accommodation = it met my expectations. The distance from the beach and the price per room were the reasons for my choice. I met with the warm approach of the entire staff. I've been more than a week. Breakfast was sufficient and there was a choice.

I tried two types of room-Economy and Room with balcony. The Economy category does not have to suit everyone, I was informed in advance that there is no wifi in my room = I accepted it and went to the bar where the wifi was. After coming from the beach, I used an outdoor shower = better stream of water to wash the sand. The street is strongly influenced by the construction of new apartments around the accommodation.
