I didn't eat breakfast, but the location is amazing - steps from Tahir Square, a short walk from the Go Bus station and easy access to everything else. I asked them to pick me up -- the driver was on time and the price (paid to the hostel) was exactly as expected.

I had a great stay and plan to go back if I'm in Cairo again. I will say they have a very cool but old elevator that works, but is not for those afraid of heights. I took the elevator once, then walked up after that. For me this just makes the place more interesting, but it is on the 5th floor, so could be an issue for some visitors.

The best part of the stay here was how helpful and available the staff were. I didn't book subsequent nights far enough in advance but staff still juggled things around and found me a room to stay in. This is no luxury hotel so there were times when communal bathrooms didn't have toilet paper, or other small things, but this was no issue. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Location is right downtown so great access to the Egyptian museum and other sites downtown. Rooms were comfortable and AC worked great! Rooms also had a fridge which was a nice addition.

There was a situation where a staff member tried to come into my room when he shouldn't have, and he even insisted several times. This was no big drama, as I refused each time, but it did make me uncomfortable. Meramees could have a staff meeting to discuss appropriate behavior with guests, especially solo female guests.

The stay included a breakfast of an omlette, bread, cheese, fruit, tea or coffee. I really enjoyed that. There was a nice spacious common area to lounge in and get on the internet or talk to other travelers.

The closest bathroom to the dorm I was staying in had construction going on next to it so there was a pile of dirt next to the door. The dirt got tracked in sometimes and the floor in the bathroom was always wet. I couldn't find anywhere to put anything while washing up.

Everything is perfect The hostel was completed when I arrived because I was so late so they thought I will not come and didn't able to reach me because my mobile died on the way But they offered me a new place so close to them with upgrade my room to a room with private bathroom without any additional fees How generous and professional staff I really thank you for everything you did for me and thank you for making my stay too easy and comfortable

Best thing about Meramees was Migo! I was here for an exam. I booked a small room. But as small room was busy he let me stay in a big room and as i had an exam he did not move me from the room. This hotel has everything you can expect but the most delicious thing was the breakfast. It was so great! I wish their best and will come back here again and again!

I really liked the room and the old vibe of the building it gave a vibe that was a signature for Egypt. I'm extremely happy about the staff, Majdi, Mustafa, Mahmoud, Nasma and Nada were amazing and the cleaning staff was extremely attentive and friendly.

I really liked the time I've spent in the Hostel. Nice and friendly area, you can feel safe there and people who work on reception are always ready to help. The location is also great, near the Tahrir Square and Egyptian museum, in Cairo Downtown

Everything is perfect location, quiet, spacious and clean building I literally loved staying here. the great people only receptionists Israa, Ahmed the young guy and woman staff.

The bedding elements pillows(very dirty), blankets and sheets are too old The evening receptionists. Amir and Karim both suddenly told me don’t make reservation on the booking? they asked me to write a review in front of him in the form of a threat because I kept booking! There are a lot of weird things these evening staff do! there must be clarity giving when using before asking for payment in the end to avoid any of profits of own benefits.

Everything about my stay at Meramees was fantastic. The staff were super communicative, friendly, and helpful. The location is great, the rooms and amenities are clean, and the all-round vibe is really good.
