October 2022

The place is nice and clean, location is good, staff is friendly

The hotel has a strange taxi/transportation habit and if you go via the reception, you are being overcharged. There is perfectly fine taxis outside the hotel with friendly drivers. Some speak good english or even some german or french. As a price reference (status October 2022), a trip from the president hotel to somewhere in Zamalek should be around 30 Egyptian pounds, to the old Cairo/Taheer square it is about 40 pounds and if you go to the airport it will be around 250 pounds. If you organize a taxi via the hotel/reception they charge at least double of this amount, because there seems to be some arrangement in place whereby the hotel receives a commission. However, the cars are exactly the same.

I was in Cairo for four nights for work. This hotel was recommended to me by my manager and it exceeded my expectations. The location is golden: it's in the heart of the beautiful old neighbourhood of Zamalek and the hotel has the charm of Egypt's golden age. The room had a gorgeous view of the Nile and the city, it was on the 12th floor with nothing blocking the view. The room itself was spacious and clean, with a renovated bathroom and everything I needed. Room service was excellent and I had a delicious dinner at 3 am the night of my flight which was obviously made with love. Staff at the reception desk were super courteous and helpful. I have to give a special thanks to Mohamed (pictured below), who greeted me with a big smile upon arrival and helped me with my suitcases. The night of my departure, he ensured that I knew where to order dinner from and asked me if I'd like a wake up call in order not to miss my early morning flight. He called me more than once to ensure that I don't sleep in, and when I was about to leave and asked for help with my suitcases, he came to the room and instead of just taking the suitcases, he asked me if I'm sure I didn't leave anything behind. I said I think I'm sure, then he opened the cupboard only for me to find two of my favourite and newest clothing items still hanging there! Not missing a beat, he grabbed them, opened the suitcase, folded them and put them inside it then closed it again, all the while asking me if I'm sure I have nothing left in the safebox. He later made sure my bags were in the correct Uber car and that the car would wait for me. I mean, this is not customer service, this is ABOVE AND BEYOND anything I've ever experienced anywhere else in the world, and I'm a frequent traveller who stays in many hotels. Please give him a raise. He does his job with passion, dignity, honesty, and above all with a big smile. He is a true gem.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Found out the hotel we booked in Giza was a scam about 2 weeks before leaving for Egypt. Was able to book this hotel quickly and for only slightly more than the scam hotel in Giza. Zamalek is probably the best location for foreigners. Checking in was easy. The staff spoke English very well. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant the first day and it was very good and reasonably priced. There is security at the front of the hotel when you enter with a metal detector which is a different experience coming from America, but was appreciated. The hotel is nicely updated. The pictures really reflect the rooms. Of all the cities we stayed in Egypt, this one had the best shower with the most room. The beds were very comfortable as well. My husband and myself stayed in a double room. My sister, her boyfriend, and my mom stayed in a triple room. The triple room was nice because it had a main area with the double bed and a separate area for the single bed. After a bad experience with an Uber driver the first day in Cairo, the hotel helped us to contact a legitimate driver for our second day.

The hotel was a little bit hard for our Uber drivers to find. It seems to be on a bit of a one-way side street. The hotel has a smoky cigarette smell. However, this is true of basically all buildings in Egypt so you quickly get used to it.

We stayed at this hotel two different times during our visit to Cairo. The first time, our room had two double beds which were quite comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower was good! The second visit, we had a king sized bed with the room being a little larger. The bathroom was fine, though a little smaller than the first. The bed was also comfortable. For this visit, our room was not ready when we arrived, so we were given vouchers for a free drink in the sports bar, which was appreciated! We had room service twice - both times the food was delicious and the food was quickly delivered. We also ate in one of the 5 restaurants and also found the food very good. We used the free airport shuttle for both pick-up to/from the airport. The driver was polite and on-time. There was a casino on-site, but you'd never know it. It's located a short distance from the main hotel so there is really no interaction at all.

Firstly, the hotel is very clean, the corridors in the hotel are fragrant, the room size is excellent, the reception is excellent, the advantage of the place is that the hotel is located on the top two floors only and the rest are furnished apartments, taxis are available outside, the restaurant and breakfast are good, the food is varied and the place has a beautiful view and quiet seating.

The price is high compared to surrounding hotels

The property is located in prime area where easy to walk around. The Staff - Madonna , Ahmed and Mahmood Mahdi was brilliant, I am very pleased with them . And the housekeeping teams - Mostafa Hasan and Ahmed Gamel also very helpful.

To small . And some old front office team ( i guess night duty manager or something ) was not friendly and consider not polite. One evening I was seating on their lounge and would like to order something and from a distance he yelled at me “ what do you want !”. it’s really piss me off and thats make me reconsider to come back to this hotel whenever I visit Cairo. it’s really sad to know that because of one person, the whole experience was ruined.

This is a lovely hotel. I stayed for about two weeks; the room was larger than expected, bright, modern, and very comfortable. The hotel is on a smaller street so not as much noise. Breakfast is great with a lot of choices. I also used room service and laundry which were both fast. It's a short walk to the new metro station (Safaa Hegazy) ; taxis and Uber also available. There are many restaurants and shops in the area and several small supermarkets within walking distance. The staff is wonderful, very helpful and friendly. When I asked for towels or anything else it was delivered within fifteen minutes. I had arranged to be picked up at the airport and when I couldn't find the car right away I messaged the hotel. They responded immediately with his location and then kept checking with me until I found the driver. The coffee shop in the lobby is a great place to stop after a day sightseeing. Looking forward to staying here on my next visit to Egypt!

Faster WiFi would be nice. However this was my second trip to Egypt and in total I've stayed at four different hotels and used WiFi in various other locations and speed was the same or slower than at the President.

Excellent service, with friendly staff who always greet you with a smile :) The room was beautiful and well maintained. Amazing view of beautiful Zamalek :) The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of foods and drinks/ juices. The music in the restaurant is amazing :) I also used the lemo service, and the escort “Marwan” and the office manager “Hussam” were beyond excellent and accommodating. This was my second stay and I’m definitely coming back :))

We didn’t have an iron which was a bit frustrating. Better have your portable iron in your luggage just in case. I think the room also needed more vaccuming.

The rooms are perfectly adequate and very clean. They have a safe, a desk, an easy chair, a window. A nice bathroom, towels are large and fluffy, common areas clean and pretty. The breakfast is very good and generous. The staff super friendly and nice: at breakfast, at reception and a special shout out to the bell-boys. Amazing. The area is very pretty, quiet, and around the corner from corridor 26 of July with all the restaurants and fun. Actually it was awesome.

The coffee at breakfast could be better and there is some construction going on, so there was a little dust on the elevator but otherwise, it was great.

Good Safe area and clean. Staff Pleasant.

Noisy property. With a school opposite & i assume restaurant staff or some kind of store on the floor as we were on the floor of the restaurant and there was always some commotion going and also there was construction going on in the building. Rooms not sound proofed. u can hear people walking and their conversations in the corridors . Considering I had asked for a quiet room when booking. They did apologize for the construction / noise and offered us lunch. The cairo cellar refused to let us in as they don't allow open shoes and have a dress code.
