My second stay at Om Kolthoom, and even better than the first. All the staff are lovely and so helpful with everything. There's also an amazing rooftop pool area now open in the summer plus a fully equipped gym and a Finnish and Turkish sauna. This with the location right in Zamalek (5 - 10 min walk away from a whole host of great restaurants and 10 min drive from downtown if you're travelling for business) makes Om Kolthoom probably the best value you can find anywhere in the area. I'll be back again!

The location of the hotel is by the Nile with restaurants and cafes available, easy to go anywhere by taxi, about 25 min from citystars mall. Reception area is great, very grateful and beautiful lady Donia is working there. And also Mr Magdy assisted us greatly. Of course I want to mention Mr Emad Youssef who was also very welcoming and friendly and helped us with check out request when we needed to leave our bags for a while. It was a pleasure also to eat breakfast in the restaurant. I'm vegan so I ate beans and falafel and both tasted delicious and very original, not cheap canned stuff. Waleed was very helpful and nice and attended to my requests in the restaurant in a very courteous manner. I really recommend this beautiful hotel if you appreciate authentic Egyptian flavor to your experience of Cairo.

The Om Kolthoom Hotel was perfect for my needs. It was quiet, clean, close to attractions, and upstairs from a 24-hour cafe and restaurant. The staff was also very respectful and friendly without being pushy. And because it was a holiday weekend in Cairo, I lucked out and had the pool to myself - so it felt very VIP. And as far as design and views go, it looks better in person than in pictures because this is an older hotel with old-fashioned, but tasteful furniture that don't show up that well in photos -- and their is a view of the Nile, but a parking lot in front. Once you're there, you can kind of ignore this. It's super pleasant and great for people who need a child getaway. And this location is great for foreigners, including western women traveling alone. You'll feel safe and respected here.

Hotel is located on amazing location in beautiful Zamalek, this is my second stay in this hotel because of perfect location. Everything is near and there is a lot of quality restaurants and coffe shops in the nearby. Hotel is vintage and hotel management is trying to keep this was and that is great. In the hotel lobby you can hear songs of Um Kalthum and it’s like time travelling to the time of Um Kalthum.

Great location in Zamalek (upscale area) and very friendly staff. The hotel has some great facilities like a well-equipped gym, Finnish sauna and steam room. Also ordered food from the Lebanese restaurant (Taboon) downstairs - they do room service to the hotel. Would stay again when in the area.

Though the room was super spacious it was quite dark and needed a ceiling lamp for more light. There was also no fridge and the bathtub drained very slowly when showering.
