We arrived at the hotel and were welcomed with a room upgrade. Our suite was beautiful with super comfy beds and a balcony with a view to the Nile and the sunset. Maviey Ayman and the other guest services young ladies are very friendly and always happy to help. We loved the meals at the Egyptian restaurant by the pool and were treated like royalty by Peter and also by Iman and Nagha at the pool bar. We absolutely loved our stay at Sonesta St George and would love to visit again in the future💕

Good location as it was in walking distance to the Temple of Luxor and Luxor museum. Lovely local restaurants The Lantern.. just around the corner from the hotel.

Breakfast is pretty average - cold buffet mostly premade pastries, hot food pretty average. Also the incessant tipping of staff for doing very little a bit off-putting. Happy Hour is not 2 drinks for one but buy 2 drinks and get one free.. which is weird... how do you share an extra glass of wine between 2 people. Hotel prices for food and drink really pricey compared to other hotels and local restaurants. This is a tourist area and locals harass tourists for money constantly. You can't walk outside the hotel without being swarmed by people either wanting to give you a lift or sell you souvenirs. Some locals just shout "money, money" at you. Would avoid asking hotel reception about distances to tourist spots or restaurants.. no idea and not really interested in helping.

It was clean and in a good position, the staff were on the whole very good

When we arrived at the hotel expecting to wait awhile to check at in the hotel manager the said we were a day early and to come back the following day to check in !! Well we were on the correct date and he just wanted to charge for a extra night if we wanted a room, so not a good start at the Sonesta and it tainted the hotel and the holiday, we wouldn’t book there again and will be advising friends who want to go about our experience there

We had an incredible room with a spectacular view of the Nile. Our room was really wonderful and most of the staff were also friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed our meal in Miyako, one of their hotel restaurants.

We were a little bit disappointed by breakfast: the fruit wasn't very tasty (it's January) and a lot of the baked goods were too dry. One annoying thing happened during our walk of the property grounds: one of the hotel staff offered to take a picture of us in front of the Nile and then demanded "baksheesh" (tip). This should simply not happen at a 5-star hotel, where we already pay enough for our rooms.

The staff were lovely! Very friendly very helpful - we booked all our excursions through the hotel, perhaps a little pricier this way but a very good experience! We stayed over the Christmas period - the decor was great and they left a little stocking for us to open which was a nice extra touch. We were also surprised by a room upgrade - and woke up to some lovely views. Breakfast was great - especially the omelette station! My biggest attraction to any place I book is its cleanliness and the room was very clean!

A very minor point here - the spa bath might need a bit more instruction to it. The water pressure fine on most features but not on the back washers. Please note this is a very picky comment and even without this working as it may the hotel was still a dream!

We arrived at Sonesta St. George Hotel very tired and upset (we had to change hotels because the one we booked before was unacceptable). Luckily there was Wahed working in the reception that night. We explained to him our situation and he made everything he could to help. The check-in process was fast and smooth - he also gave us an upgrade free of charge. The view for the Nile river was breathtaking! In the morning you can see the balloons flying and in the evening there's an unforgettable sunset. The room was very tidy and clean, the housekeepers work was amazing as well. Everyone at the hotel was friendly. We also asked for room service during our stay - the delivery was fast and the food was good. The position is good - there are some restaurants around and you can reach the Luxor Temple easily. Thank you very much for everything!

Everything was perfect.

The view from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking! Waking up to the Nile River and watching the boats sailing across with every sunset is so blissful. We loved our stay at the hotel. There are room was cozy with a very comfortable big bed. The balcony outside was amazing. The Reception, Conceirge and Travel Desk staff was really welcoming and helpful. The vibe of the entire hotel is very pleasant and positive. We will surely return back to this hotel. The pool also looked great and they also have a spa. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to utilise these facilities as our itineraries were full. The location of the hotel is wonderful too. Although I travelled here with my husband, as a woman, I would also recommend this hotel for solo women travellers as it’s a safe hotel to stay in Luxor. A big thank you to the hotel staff for helping us and making our stay so memorable!

Firstly the door stopper in the bathroom is very dangerously placed in front of the bathtub. We hit our feet twice and anyone can slip and fall. And the bathtub also needs maintenance. Secondly, the restaurants are not so great. The food was really not up to the mark as compared to other restaurants in Egypt and the bar tenders don’t even know how to make classic drinks. Although the outdoor grill restaurant is beautiful with its river view, and the hotel offers 4-5 different restaurants including Italian, teppanyaki, grill and buffet, the experience was disappointing. The poolside restaurant also had only one staff attending to all the guests which made the operation very slow.

We absolutely loved our stay here, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing personal concierge, Naderine (I hope I’ve spelled that right!). She was an absolute star from start to finish. Her English was excellent, her professionalism was top-notch, and she went above and beyond to make our stay feel extra special. Honestly, Naderine felt like part of the family. She had this magical ability to anticipate what we needed before we even asked. She made everything so smooth, so easy, and honestly made us feel like VIPs. Because of her, we’re already planning our next trip here—on the condition that we get her again! No Naderine, no booking. That’s how much of a difference she made!

The only thing we didn’t like is that we had to leave! 1 night wasn’t enough to soak in everything this resort offers. Next time, we’re coming back for longer—and bringing more brownie points for Naderine.

We got an upgrade to a room with front view to the Nile. The view was amazing!! I stayed in different hotels in Luxor and this is by far the one I enjoyed the most. The hotel is very clean and has comfortable beds. We got different amenities,fruits and Christmas cookies to the room. The Japanese restaurant is really good.

Even tough I really like the breakfast, I would suggest to improve the pastries since they were quite dried. Also, it would be great that the hotel has a coffee machine instead of instant coffee. Be careful about the taxi drivers in front of the hotel. You can get scammed.

Excellent service, together with great installation. Although it is on the oldie side, it is well preserved and very clean. I am very bad at memorizing names but the guy who checked me in was very good! Also Najat (or if I mistake the name, it’s a name that it means successful), the Lady at the pool on Sunday morning. She made the best lemonade with mint.

Price could be a bit expensive for the amenities like soap and so which are below a 5* hotel. Also the Gym could be improved very much. I tried but couldn’t train on those machines. Also the extra charge for a very little Spa should not be. Also they deny help to find a taxi. In a country where people abuse WILDLY with prices, hotels should help their guests and inform how to better get around.
