The hotel is outside of central Tartu, next to a large shopping mall. It seemed to be very popular with families with small kids. The city centre is easily accessible by car or by bus. The room was nice, comfortable and clean, the wifi worked well, breakfast was good (although almost the same every morning), the free parking lot was huge.

The staff didn't seem to know well the area - when I asked how to get into the city centre by public transport, they only suggested a shopping mall shuttle with quite a limited route, when in fact there is a bus stop about 5 minutes walk from the hotel with several options.

The hotel is a great place to stay if you want to be near the city but not 100%. The room is very cozy and clean. It is also directly connected to a big shopping mall with a cinema which is nice if you want to have a movie night. I can 100% recommend the Fii restaurant which is in the hotel as well the taste of the food is stunning with a great service. The service overall is also very nice and friendly.

The only negative experience we had was while checking out. We had to do an early check out due to a family emergency. This caused us to leave 4 days earlier then our planned leave. While I went to check out was I confronted by 2 front desk workers who were kind of annoyed that we are checking out early. They took the room keys, ignored me for 2 minutes then looked at me annoyed and told me that the stay is not refundable ( which I expected). I told them that I know and was send away with a „that’s it bye“ This was in my personal opinion very unprofessional handled and 0% customer oriented.

Breakfast included good variety of foods and fish, bakeries were delicious. Lactose and gluten free options available. Rooms were very tidy and spacious. Lots of storage room, also fridge. Beautiful big mirrors in the room. Restaurant seemed really nice with good food. 24h reception, friendly staff. Convenient parking lot. Big shopping mall right next to the hotel.

Caffe latte and cappuccino options not available at breakfast table, must pay extra for them. There were not enough hangers for bathtowels in the bathroom. Only one hanger for all the towels. Also, the showerhead was weird - water did not flow equally.

Rooms size, breakfast quality, located at shopping mall - you can enter shopping mall from hotel directly. Kids playroom at breakfast facilities. Value for money. Modern rooms. Staff.

City center is far away is you want to reach by walk, by car around 10min drive. Eating area (where food is placed, not the tables) is small and on busy mornings it gets too crowded generating "jams" and waiting line. Poor free coffee options - black or white, no Cappuccino or Latte as in similar level hotels. No equipment in the rooms except fridge.

All that was required for a good stay were there and everything worked as it should. Breakfast spread was very good. Parking in front of the hotel and under security cameras. Built over a mall, so if one needed anything, it was right there. Easy enough to locate the hotel. Very clean and tidy operation.

The only issue was that the building design was noisy ..... any movement of people or furniture above or next to the room you are in is amplified. Not much that can be done about that, but it can be irksome.

The hotel location seems far from the city center but don't worry about that. This place is perfect for a weekend getaway if you like to see Tartu and add some shopping to your weekend. The hotel is connected to Lõunakeskus shopping center, so you can go shopping in your slippers. But don't do that. And if you want to visit Tartu city center, there is a free bus from the shopping center every 30 minutes. The trip is about 10 minutes. The hotel is nice, the rooms are spacious, and the breakfast is tasty - all is on the right level.

All except one thing was really well

I purchased an extra hour to extend check-out time which unfortunately resulted in less time to use my key card than it was agreed, therefore there was no possibility to use elevators to get out of the hotel and directly to the shopping centre. I was with a toddler and a stroller (myself being 8 months pregnant) and therefore could not use stairs. Luckily the reception Lady was kind enough to allow us the exit to the shopping mall.

Comfy bed, large room that included a sauna, mini kitchen with microwave, fridge with free water, capsule coffee machine and coffee. It is possible to set the perfect temperature in the room. Huge breakfast selection, delicious coffee and very tasty dishes, especially the salmon. It is quite convenient that the hotel is connected to a shopping center with direct access by elevator.

Very far from the city center, there was a huge reconstruction of the road nearby, the noise could be heard a little even on the fifth floor through the closed windows. A funny detail - the sauna door has gaps. Although the sauna heats up well, the whole bathroom gets very hot at the same time.

The breakfast at Fii is always exceptional. The room is clean and cozy. Love that the staff is helpful. The rooms are quiet too, we were right next to the lift but didn't get bothered by our neighbours :)

For us personally, the bed was too soft and the blankets were too thick. So even when the room was cold, it got pretty sweaty at night. Wish there could be options to choose between softer or sturdier beds, depending on the guests' preferences. Although that is minor, I get that most people prefer soft beds :)

Breakfast was amazing! The bed soft and comfortable. My go-to hotel when I have to stay on Tartu.

Sad that you have to choose between a room with a sauna or a room with a bath and that you can't have both.
