+ Nicely designed, clean rooms: having the toilet seperate from the shower is always a plus. Large sink seperating the two also a plus. + Soft beds: excellent beds, soft and big. Providing a goods nights rest, which is the primary function of a hotel. + Excellent breakfast: broad variety of fresh products.

- Limited (expensive) parking: though I understand that in the middel of the city, this is difficult for the hotel to fix. Options in the neighbourhood are available. We parked around 5 minutes from the hotel, paying 4 EUR per day. - I was a bit disappointed by the welness. The lockerroom is almost as big as the welness area. There is a pool of about 50m2 and a (at the time I was staying out-of-order) sauna. There are as many as 8 showers which takes up valuable space and are way to many. Two or three would have sufficed.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Room is spacious and clean, housekeeping and reception staff friendly. Great variety of food at breakfast and the spa is fabulous.

The lighting in the room is lacking some thought. A lot of switches but few options. The worst is that you can not turn the light on in the toilet alone but all bathroom area, with glass wall, lights up. This disturbs the other person who is sleeping. The wardrobe has very few shelves, making it difficult to organise your clothes. Also, when you open the wardrobe door it bangs loudly again the wall.

The restaurant was especially good. We had a special party dinner in the white room(?). Everything was perfect, the service by one young man personal, not too overwhelming but attentive and natural; very much appreciated. We also had other meals on the terrace, also perfect every time. All the serving people were highly professional, special thanks to them.

A lady in our group wished to have massage. It was not possible for several understandable reasons but the person behind the reception desk was rather rude; she could have told the same facts in an amicable way so she would not have made an unhappy and dissatisfied client. I enjoyed your quiet spa twice, a wonderful idea! Only the second evening at about 22.00 there came a young couple with a little girl in my estimation about 2yrs old who was very sweet but made noices and behaved as they do at that age (I have 6 grandchildren). I do not know what you could do about clients who do not read/follow your rules; anyway one client was not happy about this event especially as I had just had a bout of migrane earlier that day.

- Excellent location adjacent to the main square. Short walking distance from the bus station to the hotel. Short walking distance to the some of the best restaurants, the famed Werner Cafe, Tartu University, Botanical Gardens and Toy Museum amongst others; - Friendly, professional staff; - Superior Room larger and better equipped than some of the Junior Suites we have stayed at previously at other 4* hotels; - Fast, free WiFi; - Premium complimentary cosmetics in the room; - Complimentary hot and cold beverages provided to guests; - Entry to Spa included in the room rate. Spa is small but well designed to maximise use of the space. Locker room with several showers and changing rooms, Sanatorium, Steam Sauna and Finnish Sauna, Pool / Jacuzzi combo and relaxation area with lounge chairs. - Complimentary fruit, still and sparkling water provided to guests in the Spa; - Towels provided to guests in the Spa free of charge; - Robes and slippers for the Spa are provided to guests in the room free of charge; and - Excellent breakfast buffet with a good selection of fresh fruits and veggies, juices, smoothies, marinated fish, pastries and pancakes amongst others.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is great! We felt very welcomed and comfortable during our stay. We did come across some issues during the stay but they were quickly rectified by the very professional staff members. Overall the experience was great and we will definitely give this hotel another chance in the future. Loved all the room contents- slippers, hair dryer, the shampoos etc. Very well-equipped room.

Very nice hotel! Room size was good and everything was clean. Room as already cooled down to comfortable temperature (outside was hot)! To me it was important because I hate when room is almost as hot as outside and then when starting AC it starts pouring this Arctic breeze. As extra service i ordered bottle of sparkling wine to room as a surprise for us. At checkout I loved how receptionist very delicately asked if restaurant bill should be added to room bill. I was a little confused because we didnt visit restaurant. I asked "Restaurant bill?" and then she whispered "that sparkling wine bottle ;)"

Forgot to book parking space and had to park on street.

One of the best hotel I have stayed since a while. Everything is very well taken care. The hotel is well designed and clean everywhere. My room was at the fifth floor with a nice shower room and a little balcony which I liked very much. The SPA is very nice, though it was crowded at time. The breakfast was of outstanding quality, and the coffee possibly the best hotel coffe I can remember. On top of that the location is only a few step from the main square. All the qualities together make the Lydia a fantastic hotel with a special character. Recommended!

Excellent hotel right in the centre of Tartu; large, comfortable and clean room, very spacious bathroom. Lovely little spa complex, good that it's open until 11pm. Very helpful and accommodating staff. Would definitely book again.

The breakfast is good, but a tiny bit limited given the overall high quality of the hotel. The bathroom looks big enough to have accommodated a bath, not just a shower. The pool in the spa is a little small, and some of the functions don't work (e.g. the water stream to swim against). The hot sauna was very hot indeed. I like hot saunas, but this one was too much even for me!

I got upgrade to suite which was really pleasant surprise. The hotel is located on the edge of old town and you can here some noises from the street (church bell, garbage trucks) but it wasn`t so bad. Breakfast was very good and selection was wide. SPA area I didn`t get a chance to visit. Very nice experience in Tartu and would most certainly recommend and visit again.

Everything was spot on

breakfast had a very large variety of foods, all freshly prepared and refreshed. Dishes were removed from our table quickly. The spa was outstanding - not crowded, clean and a wonderful retreat. The Hotel is located very centrally, has excellent service, very helpful in arranging taxis and providing other advice. Beautifully decorated. Our suite was large with several small balconies - the doors could be opened for fresh air. The beds, pillows and blankets were exceptional. Lovely design in the rooms. I would absolutely recommend staying here again.
