Good hotel with an attention to detail located right in the buzzing heart of Avignon. This hotel is making a special effort to be considerate to the planet with a number of basic initiatives. Whilst there is no on site parking at this hotel which would be difficult given its location it was near enough to some affordable public parking nearby that was walkable even for myself with slightly limited mobility.
Not really a dislike possibly even an advantage. Whilst the hotel itself does not have an in house restaurant there is a basic restaurant attached and an even greater choice of restaurants in the pedestrianised avenue/plaza directly out front.

Clean hotel, nice breakfast, nice staff.
The elevator situation -wWhen I had to leave, it was occupied by the hotel staff and I needed to wait a few minutes, only to find out that it was going to still be occupied longer. I was in a rush so I had to run up the stairs and carry my luggage downstairs so as to not miss my train. This was a bit inconvenient and it would be nice if they don't occupy the elevator in the middle of the morning when everyone is checking out.

We loved Hotel de l’Horloge! It’s 20 feet from the main plaza in Avignon with lots of great cafes and restaurants plus many others nearby. Probably the best location possible in Avignon. Even though our room overlooked the plaza it wasn’t noisy at all. The hotel is very quaint with nice staff, the bed linens and towels were very good quality. The hotel is somewhat quirky and not luxurious but still very nice. Would stay there again. Merci Hotel de l’Horloge!
Our room smelled a bit like it had previously been a smoking room. We didn’t ask to change though because we loved the view and other things about the room. There also isn’t an area in the lobby to sit or a patio at the hotel but the cafes are so close it’s fine without it.

We booked the free breakfast through booking.com and when we checked in we were told it was not included. They were not helpful in trying to resolve this matter. Our room was very spacious and clean. However the hotel itself was loud with other guests in the hallway late at night and we could hear the people above us as well. It is in a good location but there is no street parking. If you have a cra you are better off to stay at the Mercure hotel as that is where the parking garage is located.
I did nit find the staff friendly nor accomodating.

The hotel is very well maintained and managed. The staff are friendly and efficient. Th location is perfect, right in the pedestrian downtown. The breakfast is very good, with lots of high quality and regional options.
A problem that will not be easily solved is the soundproofing of the room with respect to the hallway and the other rooms. When people walk in the hallway it feels that they are in the room. Also, our neighbor had a very reasonable toned phone conversation in the other room, and if needed I could have provided a full transcript. The soundproofing to the exterior (to the market) is perfectly OK.

Perfect location and the room was a good size for a family of three.
The lobby is tired, the breakfast just so so and the staff indifferent.

the service was ok, the cleaning staff very good and helpful (Madja!), and the breakfast excellent. The location is wonderful too. Quiet and central.
the bathroom should get rid of the bathtub with its high rim and huge swivel plastic screen that doesnt stay open long enough to allow safe entry and exit over the high bathtub side; in fact the bathtub should be converted to a walk in shower and grab bars should be installed, as there is nothing to hang on to, to get in an out. Quite tricky if you have some hip mobility issues. The cleaning staff got me a rubber mat to put in the bathtub.

Location was great, close to things we wanted to see and do. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. Requested a top room with a terrace and view and boy did they deliver. Optional buffet breakfast by was amazing (hours 7am-11am) and such a huge assortment of things was great to choose from. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Only negative was parking was about be 10 min away. But, they gave us a 20% discount for the parking fee and they did let us park in front of the hotel for loading and unloading our luggage (they even helped us load it to our car).

The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the old town, the St. Benezet bridge, the open market, and the main square. Restaurants, crepe stands, and gelato vendors are only steps away. The staff is genuinely friendly and forgive you for speaking French poorly.
It was not a problem for me, but the hotel is in an old building and getting around is a bit like a maze. In addition, the rooms are all different as is typical in many European hotels. I find these qualities to be charming, but be prepared to read the directional signage and don't plan to have the same room layout as your traveling companions.

Location ! location! and it is truly french and not a big chain. coffee machine, tea and minibar. small hotel with friendly staff. check-out at 12 is great as well as luggage storage. nice amenities and great view to the place d‘horloge. distance to the opera is only 2 minutes- perfect.
I would not say I didn’t like it but one needs to be aware that there is no parking in front but about 300 m distance away is the Parking du Palais du Pape with ample space at about 22 Euros a day
