We loved the estate atmosphere and amazing gardens. The rooms were clean, bright and comfortable. The host made our breakfast to order and even gave us ideas on how to extend our stay by stopping at Giverny on our way back to Paris. She overhead lifted our 2 carryons both up & down the spiral staircase to our room. We had the place to ourselves since it was early in the season. Our room included a rustic, quaint small shared kitchen with fridge. Our host made fresh scrambled eggs with eggs from her chickens and made to order our coffees. Everything was delicious!

The spiral staircase was a little daunting. Someone with limited mobility or very tall could have issues climbing stairs. A few cats & dogs were on the property so it may be an issue for those with allergies and I did not see it posted on the description.

It was a very nice and centrally located area of Bayeux... super easy to get around to anywhere we wanted to go.... a very secure place to stay as well. Breakfast provided was fantastic and the vibe felt very home as the host made it feel that way. I love that the courtyard gave of a very 14th Century vibe and it made you feel as though you were participating in a past time.

the only thing I would suggest is the garden areas... I know that Europe is going through some sort of "let things go wild for the Bees" thing ... however, it was a bit hard to envision them looking like the website portrayed.

The breakfast was outstanding. Very fresh and good with all you could wish for. The host made fresh scrambled eggs on request. Fresh bakery products every day, fresh ham, fresh fruit, cereals, cheese and different spreads/jam, youghurt, juice, coffe, tea, hot chocolate etc. etc. The breakfast was around the large dining room table so we met a couple of nice famillies from the USA and UK. The host was really nice and very helpful with advice on visits in Bayeux and in the greater Normandy area. She also had cold water, juice, beer and cidre available in a common kitchen place around the clock.

Aggarthi is a hidden gem. Walk through the entrance into an old courtyard and experience beautiful relaxing gardens. A real retreat in the heart of Bayeux. The property is unique, authentic and very comfortable. However it was the welcome on arrival and for the duration of our stay, from our host Diana, which was equally exceptional. Diana provided information on the local area and beyond and was such a friendly and obliging host with a wonderful sense of humour. The breakfast room in the main house is a sight to behold and the breakfast table was laden with a feast each day. We cooked in the guest kitchen one evening and ate Al fresco at the large outdoor dining area overlooking the superb garden. Even the resident dogs and cats pottering around in the garden were super friendly! A fantastic place to be based to explore beautiful Bayeux and the Normandy coast.

The property is conveniently located near the train station (a 10 minute walk). It is near the cathedral and is a short walk to both downtown and the tapestry museum, and about a 15 minute walk to the Normandy museum (go see it). The property has a nice courtyard area with many plants/flowers. We had a bottle of wine and enjoyed the quiet setting. The morning breakfast is very good - eggs, bread, yogurt, coffee, juice, and hot cocoa (my son loved it). The host is amazing - she will go out of her way to ensure your stay is wonderful! She is quite a jewel...

The room was clean, but the bathroom could have been a little cleaner where the heat registers were at (spider webs and a little dusty) - however the main parts of the bathroom was clean.

Diane was a fantastic host. She was very welcoming and thorough in providing us with information regarding our stay and what places we can enjoy in the area. Breakfast was very delicious and filling. The place was also very well located and it was very easy to walk to the points of interests in Bayeux and to the restaurants. We would definitely stay there again if we do return to Bayeux! We also liked that there was available parking for our rental car. It's definitely a big plus for the area.

The stairs were a little difficult to navigate with our luggage, but it was a minor inconvenience, and it did not ruin the overall experience at all.

Aggarthi is literally steps from town and the Bayeux Tapestry - the location could not have been better. From the street that Aggarthi is located on you would never guess that such a beautiful garden oasis awaits on the other side! Amazing grounds and sitting areas. Our room what very charming, clean and comfortable and Dianne was wonderful host - providing a great lay of the land on the town of Bayeux as well as her beautiful B&B upon check-in and her breakfast was fabulous. Fresh pastries, baguettes & cheeses and eggs - magnifique! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

To put it in a few words, this was our best experience in a trip where we visited 5 countries and 8 locations. Having previously been to Paris, arriving at Aggarthe was like finding an Oasis in the middle of the desert. Diane was, in a few words, the best hostess we've met in years of traveling. Always with a smile and eager to help, she made sure that we knew exactly all the things we could do around Bayeux and even made sure we could rent a car during the low season. Breakfast felt like a buffet, even though we were one of two families staying, and her Security Detail (i.e. Gus and the cats) raised the quality by 100 points for dog lovers away from home. The room had everything you could hope for or need and the bed was as comfortable as it gets. We were also provided with free parking space meters away from the location (Great for people who rent cars and don't feel comfortable leaving them on the street)

Diana is an awesome hostess! Met us at the door with a very warm welcome and #10 smile. Gave us a little tour of a tlc property, took our order time for breakfast, gave us our keys for the room and parking and offered her assistance for anything we desired. Breakfast ready on the dot and some great conversation while introducing her guests. We were out a bit early the next day and she had a little to-go breakfast waiting for us. Great visit w a great young lady.

Our host was lovely and the property was beautiful. The location was perfect, we walked to bars restaurants and the Cathedral. We didn't make it to the tapestry this trip but it was also very close to the property. The room was very pretty and the bed was comfortable. There is parking on site, just contact host to open the gate ☺️ breakfast was continental and very good. We would stay there again without hesitation.
