Location is great for in town and another town walking distance, very walkable area. The staff work so hard to please everyone. Rita went out of her way to help me on many occasions. The staff wasn't always being treated well by guests, they put up with a lot and multitask like I've never seen before. Rooms were always cleaned very thoroughly. Hats off to the staff. I stayed at the Royal Riveria first so it was twice the price for a spa , gym, on site restaurant. The staff at Royal Riveria were just okay nothing special. I will return to the Carlton again mot the Royal Riveria.

The pool tile could of used some cleaning dirt and oil build up. It wasn't filthy but wasn't as clean as the Hotel.

Extremely friendly staff, smiling, doing their best to satisfy your needs and requests! Very good location, quiet, close to the sea. Towels provided for the pool or the beach. Nice terrace for the breakfast. Great initiative to organize a jazz event on an evening, with some Prosecco offered to the guests.

A daily complimentary bottle of water would have made it even better.

Excellent location, 5 minutes walk to town/train station and beach. Perfect. We had a lovely room with large bay windows making the room light and sunny. Very comfortable with all amenities. Daily housekeeping good. Room service meals very tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar and lounge area newly decorated (as are bedrooms) Outside patio seating area very nice for breakfast. My husband and I will definitely be returning to the hotel next year, and Beaulieu-sur-Mer is a perfect destination.

The pool area and hotel signage looks dated (red colour). The black and gold colours used throughout the hotel would look more impressive.

The breakfast was excellent. However, we didn't realise until we checked out that this was not included as the price of a room is very high. The location is excellent with frequent, inexpensive train & bus services operating along the coast in both directions. There are lots of very good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

We booked a 10-day stay and arrived late on Saturday evening. However, the room had no drawers or shelves and the fridge was not working. These problems were sorted on Monday when the hotel management purchased a chest of 3 drawers and replaced the fridge. Apparently, most guests stay only a few days and so the lack of drawers or shelves had not been recognised as an issue.

I liked the location as although residential it was quiet and with very close proximity to the coast, restaurants nearby, the 2 villas I wanted to visit and the train station. The staff on reception were all excellent, friendly, polite, professional and helpful making recommendations and even booking our daytrip to Eze gardens when we struggled on line to beat the queues. The beds were comfy, balcony overlooking pool but not large enough to actually sit on and the bathroom large (we were in a deluxe). The hotel was newly decorated in a modern interpretation of Art Deco style. I loved the black and white photos of old Nice on the walls.

I thought the breakfast was ok. Not the greatest selection of fresh fruit, a very small fruit bowl and fruit salad, given the French markets are abundant sources and I just couldn't get a decent cup of tea out of those machines. I've definitely had better, especially in 4 * but it was perfectly acceptable. Hard to eat outside with seagulls waiting to swoop down on your breakfast at any given opportunity but they are hungry and protected so just be aware. I thought the outside pool area rather uninviting as a place to relax and could look much better/ more 3* than 4. Red loungers and red brollies....hmmmm . Also through no fault of the hotels' the road outside was being dug up. The communal spaces felt a bit soulless and uninviting despite the new decor.

It is a small room but in a good location and has a nice pool/breakfast. It is walking distance to the beach and many charming restaurants. You can order an Uber right to the hotel if you are going somewhere farther. The hotel gives you bottles of water.

The AC was not strong enough and the room was warm. We turned the thermostat down all the way and it wouldn’t get below 22 degrees. The bathroom is right next to the bed so does not feel super private. You can also hear other people slam their doors shut in the morning or night - the doors are heavy and require you to lock and unlock them with a key.

Convenient location if you shall explore Côte d'Azur. 20 min by bus no. 15 to Nizza downtown, including a connection to Villefranche. Bus 600 to Monaco and Menton. Hospitable staff. The hotel is just a few hundred meters away from the Beaulieu central boulevard and from the sea promenade. A longer walking distance - 20 min - to the port. Middle/high school close by, so on weekdays you will occasionally be hearing children playing and screaming outside. Profoundly renovated premises, comfortable pool. Not all rooms have a nice view, however, the modest room I stayed in had a generous size, a fairly comfortable bed (just slightly hard for my preference), a minibar and a spacious bathroom with Occitane toiletries. Breakfast was ok for a 4* house; fresh orange juice, table water, egg cooking facilities available. Welcome plate with cheese and charcuterie was lovely - however, the same assortment as at the breakfast. Beware of the seagulls at the pool and at the breakfast terrace!

Improvement suggestions: The choice of à la carte dishes at the breakfast is limited and the quality is not quite top notch: omelette a bit overdone, plain, undersalted and with no onion taste in it. Pastry/pains-au-chocolat sometimes overdone. Would have liked a broader choice of fish at the breakfast buffet: e.g., gravlaks, herring or similar. A broader choice and better quality of the fruit would be great. A bowl with ice water at the egg-cooker would be convenient for the guests to cool down the eggs and avoid burning the fingers while taking out the boiled eggs. Teabag quality was ok. Coffee quality was mediocre.

Very calm and peaceful, very friendly staff. Within walkable distance from the beach. Within less than 10 minutes of driving from Villefranche, from the beaches of Eze and from Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Less than 15 minutes of driving from Eze and less than 30 minutes driving from Nice. Perfect location to stay and visit the area with a car.

Beaulieu itself is very pleasant and peaceful but too calm and without much going on. Try to be there with a car, or else if you intend to intend to spend a peaceful and slow retreat without lots of visiting. Nothing I didn't like about the hotel.

It was nice to be away from the noise & bustle of Nice, but yet a couple of stops from Nice and Monaco. The town had some good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Beware there is a youth center right next door that can get a bit noisy if your room faces it or you are by the pool. No fault of the hotel just a location challenge. The beds were super comfortable, large room, a large bathroom with a nice-sized bathtub/shower, good selection for breakfast at an extra charge. The pool area was very nice with bar service available. The beach is less than a 5-minute walk. Beautiful quiet neighborhood. The staff was great!

The noise from the youth center next door. Wish the keys were digital and easier to carry. Keys are heavy and are left with the front desk each time you leave the hotel. I often forget something in the room and felt bad asking the front desk for the key each time.

Breakfast was terrific with difference price point for those not wanting a full hot breakfast. The pool was a welcome attraction after a day sightseeing and the water temperature was perfect. We were able to reserve parking which was a real bonus. The staff were fabulous, so friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was amazing, within walking distance of restaurants and beaches.

The air conditioning needed to be left on 24 hours a day to make sure the room temperature was comfortable at night.
