If you are going to Mont St. Michel and can afford to spend a night here, do it. Way too crowded during the day, but once 6pm rolls around, the streets belong to you. Just remember to book your restaurants in advance as everything closes early here. The hotel rooms were much better than we were led to believe from other reviews. The price is high, but worth it for a once in a lifetime experience. Note to summer travellers: they light up Mont St. Michel Monday night to Saturday Night, so if you want to see that, don't book Sunday like we did. Still a great experience though.

The hotel has an excellent location, easy access to the city's main tourist attractions, restaurants and bars. Right decision to sleep inside on Monte Sint Michel and unravel your paths at night with the city empty of tourists, I highly recommend it! Great bed, new bathroom facilities, excellent shower - hot and good pressure. Service at reception was warm and friendly. It far exceeded our expectations.

The room is located high on the Monte which means that there's quite a number of stairs to reach the room - a small inconvenience for the lovely views you get from the balcony. Generally the accommodation is as listed. Nice modern facilities which are perfectly suited for a short stay. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and made the check in experience a breeze. It was a great experience and memory to be able to stay overnight at Mont Saint Michel, one that we will never forget.

Just a minor detail but the shower needs a little more attention to cleaning. Other than that we were very happy.

The location was excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable, albeit a bit smaller than usual, which is expected on the island. It was intriguing how the rooms were hidden and had to be accessed from another street. Staying on the island felt a bit enchanting.

I had been warned by many reviews about staying on the island. The morning noise from store and restaurant deliveries disturbs the peace early in the day. While this is not the fault of the hotel, it's something to consider when booking on the island.

Location and view (paid extra for sea view room) were excellent!! Reviews say room is tricky to find; it would have been first time..but hotel has noted that and had someone take us to our room on arrival without us having to ask. Easy to find once we'd got orientated. Literally at the foot of The Abbey. Beds were very comfy. Seagulls started early but that added to knowing we were right by the sea! Our 16&18 year old kids were blown away by the location and view - if you can impress them you've done well. Upon checkout, the bar staff were very accommodating and filled all our water bottles with lovely fresh water too. Thank you. Pricey, but a once in a long while experience. We would do it again some day. Great to stay on the island to get the night visit in for the abbey and leave the island as the masses and masses arrive on the buses and by foot. Merci!

We were pleasantly surprised with our island stay! It is an older hotel, and yes the rooms are modest, and a bit over priced but to be expected for a night on an island with an abbey built over 1000 years ago! The room was decent size, clean, beds were comfortable, shower was great, our room had an awesome view of the water where we enjoyed watching and hearing the seagulls. The windows closed at night deadened any "noise". We had a wonderful dinner at the hotel's sister hotel a few steps away and breakfast there too. The breakfast was a bit overpriced but convenient and good. We loved our stay. It exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. We walked around at night after the crowds left. It was magical. The only thing we missed was not going out of the gates to look back up at the abbey lit up at night so if you go, try not to miss that. We drove a car, parked it in the parking lot as instructed and took the shuttle in. We packed enough for one night in our backpacks and left our suitcases in the car. The streets are cobblestone and there are some stairs so it really is best to not bring a suitcase although we did see some people who brought them in.

Great location on Mont St Michel, perfect for spending and evening and an early morning near the abbey without crowds! Would recommend staying here to avoid the busiest parts of the day. A nice hotel, clean room with a nice bathroom in a central location (though anywhere on the island is pretty central). Worth noting that check in is in the restaurant but your room may be in a separate building, but it really wasn't an issue!

No complaints to be honest, the bathroom had a bit of a smell from the drain despite a drain cover, but it didn't ruin our stay. Would still stay here again!

The location and the rooms.

The Location is also a double edged sword because it is so close to the entrance and the main path so you can hear everything. There room doesn’t have air conditioning but it does have a great breeze which means you keep the windows open and you can hear everyone and everything. People were walking by and you hear them talking till at least midnight. In the morning were woken up at 4 am to business traffic of things being wheeled over the awesome cobble stone streets.

Very basic room and bathroom but a lovely view out the bedroom window and everything right outside the door.

At check in, I had to jump the restaurant queue to let them know we had arrived. Was told to come back at 2.30pm (it was 2pm). There’s no where to wait so we stood outside with our bags till someone came at 2.45pm. No coffee or tea making in room. Mont st Michel is super crowded - free shuttle dropping more people every 5-10 minutes. We escaped to room during the day and wandered around in the morning and evening. Was yelled at by woman in café in French. Don’t know what she said but everyone stared. Had lovely dinner at the baie restaurant.

Perfect location and value for money, nestled amongst the tiny streets its location was ideal. I left my main luggage suitcase on the main land in the car and brought an overnight bag as there are many many steps on the Mont! Staying meant I saw the Mont without the crazy crowds, aim to arrive for 2:30 check in or just after to avoid the crowds. It’s very chill and feels like you have the island to yourself for sunset and sunrise. First to the abbey opening in the morning too. Worth staying. The rooms are located in another building down a small winding lane, nice touch
