Rooms small even superior room but adequate. Nice decor. Very small shower cubicle, not suitable for even normal sized men!! Nowhere to sit in reception if waiting for transport etc after you have checked out.

The hotel staff is wonderful and super friendly. The rooms are clean and with a lot of light. Rooms are cleaned every morning. The bathroom is not big, but it is clean and meets all needs. Breakfast is fantastic! I almost never saw a better one! Breakfast is like being in a 5-star hotel. The location is also perfect. The train station is very close as is the main street in Nica.The hotel is highly recommended and we will definitely stay there again. Big greetings to the staff and girls from the kitchen!

Everything--from the grapefruit-infused water available to guests in the lobby all the way up to the rooftop terrace. The staff were lovely, from the first smile I received upon walking through the door to the bottle of water thrust into my hand as I said my last goodbye. I had just come from a "four-star" hotel where I found the staff rude and unwelcoming, so the contrast to this gem of a hotel was particularly striking. I'd recommend that everyone in the hospitality business study Hotel Byakko's business model. They seem to understand everything a weary traveler needs for a marvelous stay.

Before my stay, I was worried about the hotel's neighborhood, which is close to the train station--and I'd read that the train station was swarming with pickpockets, scammers and lowlifes, but that did not turn out to be my experience at all. I was in and out of that train station at all hours of the day and night for various side trips and never felt unsafe--and I'm an older, solo, female traveler. So, really, the hotel's location near the train station (and even closer to Nice's tram line 1) makes it a perfect spot for easily reaching all parts of the city, the Cote d'Azur and the rest of France.

I had very modest expectations for this price and amazing location. But was simply shocked by the amazing attitude of the staff at reception. Everybody was extremely helpful, nice and willing to help. And the little things that the hotel had available for its guests took me by surprise. Fruit water at reception, SPF cream, mosquitos repellent, nice terrace on the roof where you can sit and eat some take-away food you frappes nearby. They also had tea time but I did not get there. I enjoyed the stay so much that the next day when coming to Nice immediately booked at this place again)

Room was bright, modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast offered a good selection of cereal, bread, croissants, pains au chocolat, ham, cheese, fruit, etc.

The hotel asks you to fill in an online pre-registration form in advance, which is suppoed to "save time at check-in". In fact it doesn't save any time, because the hotel makes you complete the whole form again by hand when you arrive. In my case this involved a long wait as there was a large group of foreign tourists in front of me wanting to change their reservations, change their rooms, get credit card refunds, pay in cash, etc etc., and there was only one person on duty at Reception. If the hotel really accepted their own online check-in form I could have avoided this wait. Also, there is a strange smell from the drains in Room 16.

Helpful and flexible staff; Room was a good size - ideal for travelling with 2 young children (although they had to share a double sofa bed). Bathroom and bedrooms were clean. Plenty of food and choice at breakfast. Location good - though a bit of a walk to the sea front (15-20 mins with kids). Free tea and coffee available mid-afternoon.

Space at breakfast was very squashed at a busy breakfast time. Bit of a walk from the tram stop. The lift is very small and would perhaps only fit a collapsible stroller. Not an issue for us but something for parents with youngsters to be aware of.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Location is fine- a but of a walk to the seaside and the old town but close to the main station and in a more residential neighborhood that offered a good bakery, cheese monger and supermarket all within a 5min walk. Our room was small, although we had a luxury room with balcony and we were happy with that bit of extra space the balcony offered.

The photos in the hotel’s profile with tattoo girl in weird poses are really over the top. I guess they are trying to appeal to a hip wannabe influencer crowd but the fact is this is a solid, but uneventful mid-range hotel with quite basic decor. For example, our bathroom was badly designed with wash basin and tap that were hard to use.

Great variety of food for breakfast and you could get free coffee from 2 till 6 pm. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly. The room has TV and a mini fridge.

My room had a hole in the ceiling that was taped! It seemed the ceiling was lowered. I did find it strange although it wasn't an issue. Very noisy at night as I could hear people going up.and down the stairs while carrying luggage. Would recommend wearing earplugs.

Very good location with shops and restaurants nearby, close to city center and with supermarket and pizza place just around the corner. You can get there within 40 minutes from the airport via tram and a short walk. Lady at the reception (24/7) was extremely nice and helpful. Room was nice and tidy, with all facilities you need. There's an AC which can warm up the room in winter and cool in summer. Huge double bed was comfy enough for us, we are used to high quality mattresses and pillows. There's a TV (with french stations only), a mini fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee supplied every day. Bathroom was nice and clean, shower a bit smaller but enough for slim people like us. I advise to bring your own bottled drinking water (1.5l for 0.25€ in nearby Carrefour), because the tap water smells a bit weird. Breakfast was great, many kinds of sweet pastry, toasts, ham and cheese, fruit, pancakes, yoghurt, nuts... everything you could wish for! View from the room is to the street which is not very busy, with the window/balcony closed it was quiet, you can only hear a scooter here and there.

Walls are pretty thin, you can hear guests in neighboring rooms and sounds from the staircase, but if they are not too loud, you can sleep well.

The hotel hassome strong points such as its proximity to the train station, making it very convenient for travelers. The breakfast option is impressive with a delicious and varied selection — worth including in your booking. Another highlight is the beautiful rooftop terrace, offering a lovely view. The staff were always helpful and ready to assist with any needs.

Despite upgraded room, it was extremely cramped. The bathroom had a persistent unpleasant smell, and the shower was uncomfortably small. Furthermore, the lack of a shelf in the shower made it inconvenient to manage personal items.
