We stayed in two rooms during our visit. My friends had a double room, while I had the single room with a shared bathroom. Both rooms were charming, clean, and peaceful. Although I didn't have a private bathroom, I appreciated having my own sink in the room, which was very convenient. The bed was quite comfortable. I often kept the window open during my time there and found no unpleasant odors drifting in. The hotel's proximity to Les Halles station made it incredibly easy to navigate the city and explore nearby attractions. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance as well. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Despite arriving early in the morning before the official check-in time at 13:00, they kindly allowed us to store our luggage in the lobby. This let us explore the city freely without the burden of carrying our bags.
I didn't mind the windy stairs at all; in fact, they added to the hotel's charming aesthetic. However, it could be challenging for people with larger luggage or mobility issues. The other issue was the free WiFi, which was inconsistent at times. It was difficult to maintain a stable connection, but the speed was impressively fast whenever it worked properly. Resetting your devices might help.

Fantastic location with easy access to the metro for getting around Paris. It feels quintessentially Parisian. Good price for a solo traveller if you don't mind walking to the bathroom or lugging bags up a spiral staircase.
Having to leave keys at the desk every time you go out. Staircase is narrow and a bit wonky, but I respect its an old building. Bedding and pillows a bit thin. Needs a power outlet by the bed.

Needless to say that Hotel du Cygne is perfectly located in the centre of the city centre, walking distance from Pompidou museum, Pinault collection and Louvre. You can walk to go to Marais, to Saint Germain, to Canal Saint Martin, to Tuileries. You only take the metro for the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triompe and Bois de Boulogne. It is located on a pedestrian street yet away from the noisy parts. The room is small, the bathroom is a lot bigger to what you would expect in comparison to the size of the bedroom. Better to stay with a partner or very close friend, as the bed is small/normal size... Overall, it is quite charming and comfy and the location beats any potential concern. Also, we were out all day and only coming back to get some sleep and did not want to spend half our budget on accommodation. If you are these kind of travelers then you will be super happy with Hotel du Cygne!
Well, you wish there was a lift, especially when you carry the suitcase up the floors, but you very quickly get over this.

Excellent location, just round the corner from a metro station and a little further to RER and metro lines at Les Halles. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants all around. Very old building which has been cleverly adapted. Original beams in places, lots of character with a fascinating twisty staircase. Very nice staff. Very good value breakfast - delicious fresh baguette and a croissant with fruit juice and coffee for €8. Room was warm and comfortable with all we needed. Really enjoyed our stay.
A bit noisy at night as it is in the middle of the restaurant area. Our room was very compact, cleverly designed so it worked but no space for larger luggage (we had small bags only). Bathroom was fresh and modern but the shower was very narrow and difficult to move about in. Stairs up are an irregular spiral so a bit challenging if you find stairs a challenge.

Old parisian building. Beautiful. Comfortable bed. Great location.
The only challenge was there was only one consistent working outlet in my room and it was not near my bed, desk or chair.

The location was awesome, 10/10 walked to all my tourist attractions, uber back from the Arc and Effiel 12€ but that was about it. France is bit dark in the mornings 7ish thought it was going to be scary with all the stories u hear, I mean be aware of ur surroundings but I was running in the morning and felt the city was busyish everyone getting on with life. could see how the stairs could be a problem for some, so need to be agile. Staff offered to help. Room service was excellent and staff on reception left me to get on with my holiday. ⭐️
Not real dislikes, just a thought I’m not sure how it could be done eco friendly but a bit of conditioner or moisturiser, it is Paris n room decor could provide a vibe.

The area was great everything around the hotel bars - restaurants -stores - brasserie -mall- metro station . Totally recommend this area. The room was very clean and hot but very small. The receptionists are very polite and helpful.A classic small hotel.
The room was very small only fits 2 small trolley bags and you don't have free space going around, its not an erotic room but for 2 friends its ok .The stairs are very small it doesn't fit a big suitcase. It is just for a sleep And take a shower 🚿 you can't stay more time at the room because of the size

The location was optimal with short walkable distances to the metro station and shopping mall. There are plenty of good restaurants around the area with intriguing decorations. The building itself is quite old and rustic, and the stairs are narrow and steep. However, the rooms were tidy and the personnel were extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was quite simple but tasty and affordable. Note that the smaller rooms don't have a shower or a toilet, but shared bathrooms are available.
The stairs were tricky and there were no elevators. The bed and pillows didn’t seem that hotel-like at least when compared to modern hotels.

The room was clean and cosy. The shower was great. I stayed in December and the room was adequately heated. The rest of the hotel was also clean and comfortable. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I speak very little French and had no problems communicating. I was able to leave my baggage before check in and after check out with no issue.
The room was small - fine for me but worth noting for other guests. The shower did not have a curtain or door which was something I was unused to but was not an issue as I was careful not to get water everywhere. The breakfast was basic but I did not need anything else. I had no real issues, just noting these points to inform other guests. The plus points far outweighed the negatives.

Centrally located in a really flat area of Paris so it’s easy to wheel your suitcase to and from the hotel between taxis or the metro. You’ll pass lots of people doing the same thing, and this was so much easier than staying somewhere like Montmartre. The wifi was consistent, the shower was actually really great, there was a full length mirror in my room, and staff were good. It’s also walking distance to tons of stores and restaurants, and when the metro station was closed for repair I realised it’s a pretty reasonable walk to the Louvre, or to Le Marais suburb.
I would’ve liked more accessible power points to run the kettle or recharge my devices, and a refill of the 2 coffee sachets, I had to go out and buy my own. It was always noisy outside and the walls are thins inside so I did sleep OK with my jet lag but if you need the window open for ventilation since there’s no fan or aircon in the room, it may be tricky for a good nights sleep. I think other reviews have tips on getting a quieter room. While it wasn’t an issue for me do take notice of the warning that this hotel isn’t for anyone with mobility issues because it is very old and can’t be renovated, even once you make it up the narrow and uneven stairs the shower is not suitable for little kids or for your older family members.
