Excellent location, just round the corner from a metro station and a little further to RER and metro lines at Les Halles. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants all around. Very old building which has been cleverly adapted. Original beams in places, lots of character with a fascinating twisty staircase. Very nice staff. Very good value breakfast - delicious fresh baguette and a croissant with fruit juice and coffee for €8. Room was warm and comfortable with all we needed. Really enjoyed our stay.

A bit noisy at night as it is in the middle of the restaurant area. Our room was very compact, cleverly designed so it worked but no space for larger luggage (we had small bags only). Bathroom was fresh and modern but the shower was very narrow and difficult to move about in. Stairs up are an irregular spiral so a bit challenging if you find stairs a challenge.

It certainly was a great location and it was very clean.

The one thing I value while travelling is having tea and coffee making facilities, unfortunately this was missing. One staff member just gave me a blank no to having it, while a lovely lady said it was not a problem to get me hot water and cups, which was so nice. My only drawback with staff, one particular man was very rude at each interaction. It certainly is not enough to put me off if I was to travel back there, as the hotel was adorable. They do not have a lift for luggage, just keep this is mind with heavy bags.

Great small hotel in a fabulous central location, only minutes from the Metro, and a short walk to the Louvre and other attractions. Plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants right on your doorstep. The room was quirky with old exposed ceiling beams, it was very clean, comfortable and with a nice ensuite bathroom. The staff were lovely and assisted with advice on restaurants and travelling around. Breakfast was the usual continental but was fresh and sufficient. Overall we loved the hotel and would recommend it.

I could not complain about anything. Perhaps not the newest room we've stayed in but the value for money was excellent and the location was brilliant. Perhaps some newer towels would be my only suggestion.

The room was comfortable and very clean and the breakfast was good. The hotel staff were all very friendly and I got some good recommendations for things to see nearby. My room was at the front and the main reason room wasn’t very quiet was because I was here during the Fête de la musique. Also it’s a very central location so it’s to be expected that it will not be very quiet. If you would like to stay in a central location this is a great place! I can only speak a little bit of French and it was lovely to try it out in a relaxed way as the staff were so welcoming.

Nothing to add here!

Seeing the prices around in the area and comparing with the price of the hotel du Cygne, I was expecting not a nice place, but to my surprise, it was totally the opposite, it is humble place, old building with no luxuries, but all the important things were there (except the elevator) and the location for my own interest was superb! The staff was super nice and helpful, and all super clean (something that for me is a key element). They also offered breakfast (8€) and again, not the best quality but sufficient (orange juice (not natural), coffee, croissant and toast with butter and jam), and last not least, despites to be in a crowdy area, it was not noisy, tough the walls are thin enough to hear the conversations of the other guests. XD!

In general I had a really good impression price/quality. One of the things I missed was the elevator, it is an old building and the access to the room with the luggage was a little "dangerous" through a really narrow spiral staircase, i wonder how guests who have larger feet will feet there! and the other small detail was that heater was not working, they left an old electric heater, but i didn't want to use it as there was carpet (another thing that i do not enjoy :-S) and didn't think it was a good idea to sleep with that on, and the bed had a thin blanket, as a result, I was cold, but I didn't ask for another blanket, which would have solved the problem!

The location was very central and felt safe. Far too many options for food and drinks, sightseeing, shopping. Easy to walk to places too, but all means of transport all around. The room was warm (while absolutely freezing outside), and quiet (despite the location being very central and the building old). It helps that there is not street with traffic outside, rather pedestrianized streets. The people working at the hotel were very friendly and polite. The hotel and the room were very clean.

It was a bit pricey - but I guess it's part of the deal in Paris.. Perhaps a small basic breakfast included in the price would help.

I visited Paris only for 2 nights so I barely had time to spend at the hotel, which is honestly a pity because I really enjoyed the interior design. I arrived really late at night but Francois was very nice to give me a warm welcome. The location is pretty good, very close to Louvre, though for me it was quite loud during the night — but this problem can be easily solved with earplugs. It was my birthday trip, so I asked 2 weeks prior if it's ok for them to give me the room with a good view, and even though I didn't really expect anything, they were kind enough to give me the coziest room on the second floor with double bed (I booked single!). Overall, very positive experience and I can not wait to be back. :)

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Americans might find them small, but this is Paris. The location is fantastic for it proximity to the Louvre, the Ile de la Cite, the Musee Pompidou. It is a bargain for this reason alone.

While it doesn't bother me, there is no elevator and the stairs, while safe, (and have a railing) are a bit uneven. People with mobility issues might want to consider that.

Great location and very friendly staff. The room was a good size, with a large bathroom. Basic but clean. Opted for breakfast, which was tasty and fresh. Yes, we had to carry our bags up the stairs (staff did offer to help), but that's made pretty clear in their info, so I'm not sure why people complain about it in reviews. I'd definitely stay there again, it's great value for money.
