The 9th Arrondissement is an excellent location for touring around Paris and central enough to return in the afternoon for a couple of hours rest before heading out again in the evening. Metro stations Saint George (line 12) and Pigalle (Line 2) within very easy and short walking distance). Close to Gare du Nord. Hotel Joyce was excellent in almost every respect: generous buffet breakfasts, a 'soft bar' open for snacks and light drinks at most hours, very comfortable beds, clean rooms and very helpful staff. Who could hope for more?

1) For English visitors, the TV in the room (nice large screen) has almost NO CONTENT in English! Bloomberg stock market reports and Sky News are the only channels. Tons of French channels, also good German and Italian choices but virtually nothing for France's immediate neighbor to the North. Perhaps Brexit payback? 2) In the dining room, one row of tables and seats were very low, as if offered for children. Eating breakfast here was quite uncomfortable. On the other side, one row of seats was from old car seats (quite comfortable). But the gap between the tables was very narrow, making it uncomfortable to try to slip in. We always chose the table at the end. I feel that the Hotel management should reconsider this situation, since Breakfast is an important part of the whole package.

This hotel is totally perfect and ideal ! BEST HOTEL EVER I've been to paris several times and tried different hotels each time, but none of them can compare to Hotel Joyce-Astotel. • The location is 10/10, such a safe and nice neighebourhood. Close to 4 metro stations. Saint-Lazare is about 15 mins by walk and Rue de rivoli is 27 mins away ( also all accessible by metro ) Awesome cafes and restaurants around • The staff are super friendly and helpful and are all fluent english speaker • The breakfast is AMAZING and delicious. Totally worth it. Variety of options to start your day with. It was so wise to have fruits as an option •I booked a single room with balcony and a street view and I can say it was the BEST ROOM EVER. Just right amount of size even if you have many bags and stuff with you. The facilities are complete (2 hair dryers! ,kettle & tea and coffees, FREE minibar that they charge it everyday with 3-4 bottles of water and soft drinks, TV channels, many many pillows :) , wardrobe, white towels and bath facilities even conditionet) They serve free snacks + soft drinks from 2 pm to 2 am. Make sure to try the muffins If you are wandering in Paris and happer to see an Astotel hotel, you can also enjoy the snacks cause they give you the offer to be welcomed at any astotel hotel :) Overall, It is the BEST hotel in paris for solo travlers and Family trips ! I will absolutely go back there. Thanks to all the staff Tip: Book this perfect hotel! Ask for a room with balcony, the view is magnificent.

A lovely boutique hotel, the staff were very friendly, and the bar offering drinks and snacks all day was a huge bonus.

The room was smaller than expected but it wasn't a deal breaker.

We chose to purchase breakfast each morning and it was well worth it. The staff were helpful. The neighborhood is awesome - it is not a tourist neighborhood. It’s very authentic - very French. Tons of restaurants and bars in walking distance. Awesome bakery right down the road. Highly recommend you bring your walking shoes. We walked over 30 miles in 4 days. 35 minute walk from Notre Dame and 50 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower.

I didn’t mind this, but some people may want to be in a more central location. This is very much a neighborhood location - you can tell a lot of “normal” people live in this neighborhood. It’s not a touristy neighborhood.

Pleasant location on a clean and safe street, quite clean. Free minibar with regular and sparkling water Also, they have a locked luggage room.

No proper toiletries provided (only 3 in 1 type of wash), no toothpaste or cotton swabs, no lotion. There was a hole in one of the pillowcases, I asked the staff to change it — received “.” (Literally, a dot) in response and nothing was done. Overall, expected a bit more from 3 stars in Europe

Comfortable 5th floor room with glimpse of Opéra Garnier over the rooftops; great breakfast buffet on main floor, with friendly staff; half way through the first of our two weeks the staff were already greeting us as regulars when we came down to breakfast. Interesting part of Paris for walking around; close to Montmartre without being too close; in the other direction we walked regularly to Louvre, river and on down to left bank. Good restaurants and a fine sablé-baker on the same block.

Inconveniences caused by the general strike (out of anyone's control!).

The description and photos met the description on the site. We reached early and the staff was very co-operative and even provided us with early check in. The rooms were a bit small, but then if we need rooms close to Paris center we cannot expect large rooms. It was clean, spacious enough for a couple. The breakfast was good and everything that would need, and the staff ensured that they kept refilling empty plates. The hotel has an open bar for small snacks and soft drinks through the night that helps for small cravings. Location was good with about 15-20 mins from city center. Overall it was a great stay with no complaints, and will definitely stay here the next time I am in Paris.

Hotel Joyce was a charming boutique hotel with GREAT amenities for our family. We stayed in two standard rooms that were large, had great AC, were clean and had such cute decorations. My kids especially loved the free fridge full of drinks every day as well as the snacks downstairs in the afternoon. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and always willing to give recommendations for food and directions. The neighborhood was very quiet and the hotel was easy to find.

It was a bit far away from the tourist highlights of Paris (except Sacre Coeur) and the metro stations were a bit of a walk. But this wasn’t a major hindrance! The breakfast was a bit expensive, but the food was delicious.

Wonderful, kind service, especially the man at the desk named Guy. The building itself is interesting, making an old building modern, with colorful furnishings. Elevator was small and scary at first, but being on the 6th floor, I had no choice. Very quiet room.

The hotel provides conditioner , but not shampoo, at least in my room. I was glad they served breakfast because there weren't many places to go eat in the neighborhood, especially on Sunday. Nice touch that they leave food and drink out in the afternoon, and there are free drinks in the mini bar in the rooms.

Hotel Joyce was the perfect base for our trip to Paris! We absolutely loved staying in Montmartre - it has lots of lovely restaurants, wine shops and cafes within walkable distance. You can walk to most of the main tourist spots within 1 hour max (but there are also 3 metro stops close if you’d prefer to take public transport). The hotel facilities were great, the room was made up daily with fresh towels and restock of the mini fridge - plus the A/C which you’re able to control which was appreciated during hot June. All of the staff were lovely but a special shout out to Giuseppe who brought up a bottle of champagne to the room when he found out we’d just got engaged - he also gave us some great recommendations when we first arrived. We’re already thinking about our next trip to Paris and will no doubt be staying at Hotel Joyce again!
