Needed a lot of rest and quiet and the hotel was perfect for just that. Very comfy bed in a beautiful setting. Just what the doctor ordered.

It's a great location except if you've trouble walking. With a recently broken foot, it was a challenge always having to walk around the block to get back to the hotel and had to be extra careful with the cobblestone.... Lighting was dim especially over bathroom vanity... Also, would have loved if after cleaning my room, the small face towels had been replaced. But whatever, I used larger towels.

Fantastic location. Great service. Kind staff. The food is really good.

The music in the morning played for breakfast is Broadway style musicals and jazz played really loudly. Help! The first morning was somewhat charming, but then we couldn’t stand it anymore. It is not just a matter of personal taste, it is a really a love it or hate it situation. Guess what… In contrast, the music played at the bar downstairs is generally pleasant and fairly neutral. The bedroom is really dark with only one large window. The window leaks rain. The privacy for the toilet is relative, with only a thin separation with the bedroom. The toilet has a japanese style bidet which turns on really loudly every time you open the door. The light switches work in deeply mysterious and obscure ways. It is unclear whether they function properly. Every time you want to come into the building you have to stop at the gate, ring, wait a bit, announce yourself, hope the staff recognises you on the first try, then come in. I wish we just had an electronic badge to let ourselves in without having to go through this charade every time. It gets really old when you get in and out of the property several times a day.

Pros: Management promptly resolved an issue with the reservation. Website indicated the suite was suitable for 4 people, had two queen beds and one sofa bed when in fact the suite had only one queen bed. They were very good at taking the ownership of the issue and providing a second bedroom for free

Cons: It feels more a restaurant that happens to have suites then a hotel that also has a restaurant. There is no lobby, no place to hang out if you are not sitting at the restaurant (which might be fully booked). The cocktail bar was closed (even thought it was advertised as open) and we were not allowed to sit around the area as hotel guests. There is also no room service. As a guest of the hotel I did not feel really welcomed, but more like an annoyance to the people trying to manage the restaurant. As if we were essentially on their way to prepare the restaurant for the guests. While they did solve the reservation issue by providing an additional suite, the one i stayed and originally reserved looked nothing like the pictures both on their website and at booking.com. The Eiffel Tower suite which is the priciest and was suppose to be the nicest in the hotel had in fact no view of the tower (as opposed to what is advertised). The room seemed to be in the middle of a renovation, smelled like paint and was semi-finished. No furniture under the windows, untrimmed trees blocking the view, missing light fixtures from the wall and so on. Fine if the restaurant is the preference, but for the price you pay, then they really should stick with being a restaurant and bar.
