The location would be difficult to find without a smart phone or other mapping device. Breakfast was simple but good.They shared their evening meal with me which was excellent and great value for 20euros The property is very old and very interestingly furnished,but with a modern indoor swimming pool with highly decorated surrounds!

Lovely town, an excellent place to stop enroute to the South. The entrance belied the wonderful home within. Indoor pool open to the blue skies. We enjoyed an excellent home cooked meal €40 for two. I wasn't able to partake of the pasta dish, but this was made up for by the other wonderful dishes on offer.

Sadly although I had given advance notice of my gluten intolerance, our hostess was surprised when I reminded her of this fact. Being woken by Alfred I, named after the 1st king of Belgium, crowing from 5am! Breakfast was quite uninspiring.

The house was very handy for the autoroute. We were passing through on our way back to the ferry at Caen. We parked the car inside the property's garden. We had a lovely big room with a 'salon' area. Very comfortable. The hosts offered us a cup of tea in the garden on our arrival, where we met the family dog, cat and the chickens. We declined the kind offer of an evening meal as we had eaten earlier.

The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a very spacious and well-maintained property that is both easy to drive to and park at, while being just a short walk from the centre of town. There is a restaurant that serves a good dinner just around the corner, called La Rotonde.

Local village is lovely, great places to eat and very scenic. The Hotel itself is a lovely old house split into multiple rooms one being a sperate appartment split onto 2 floors which is what we had. The house overall is very characterful and definatley somewhere we would stay again, though someof the rooms have collected a lot more nick-nacks and things than in the current photos. The Host could not have been more friendly and may the stay that bit more special

We drove past it a few times before finding it, but persevered!

Delightful, quirky, large, warm classic house filled with objets d'art and lovely furniture. Large, comfortable rooms with big beds, sofas, plenty of space. Indoor swimming pool with bath robes and flip flops available. Dog friendly. Good breakfast. Safe parking. No extra costs. The hostess is lovely and very helpful. Evening meal was an option.

We enjoyed the stay and will return.

Travelled with our dog and had to keep her in the room because of chickens in the garden and the hosts big dog,our dog didn't like either.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very friendly and the dinner outside in the garden with the other guests was memorable.

what a fantastic place to stay , huge room and suite . Our hosts Sylvie & Alain were so welcoming and we had our evening meal sat with them and other guests around a large table outside, even though our French is very limited we were made to feel like part of a large family. we will be returning next year enroute to Spain of that there is no doubt

A B&B in an aristocratic house close to the center of Saint-Amand-Montrond. The bedroom is very spacious and  decorated in a rather eclectic style. We were very hospitably received by the owner and enjoyed the refreshing indoor pool. In the morning we were spoiled with a hearty breakfast.

The shower head was quite calcified.
