Lovely big bedroom, really nicely decorated and very comfortable bed.

After a long day driving, we arrived at the hotel at 3pm which was when we understood check in to be. However we were told our room wouldn’t be ready for another 45 minutes, which was frustrating as we had two young tired children with us. However, we were more disappointed by the fact that the girl who checked us in didn’t offer any sort of apology or explanation. Of course it wasn’t her fault the room wasn’t ready, but it would have been nice for her to say acknowledge that it wasn’t ideal and that she was sorry for our wait, just basic customer service really.

We’d called in for lunch on the way south and stayed there on the way back. On arriving back a staff member recognised us and gave us complimentary breakfast. At breakfast the staff member on duty gave us and everyone else a really good welcome to the dining room. She is a great asset. One of our grandchildren caused a spillage which was immediately handled with aplomb. This Mercure hotel has really got it right both in its design and it’s staff training.

There was nothing not to like!

Everything! Location close to Centre de Ville, beautiful courtyard leading to hotel reception. Fabulous contemporary open plan interior: Reception/Bar/Lounge/ Breakfast Room. Comfortable contemporary bedroom, with Juliet balcony. Good shower room. Immaculate buffet breakfast with an excellent selection of hot and cold foods, very well considered and executed. Delightful, helpful and attentive staff. They welcomed our dogs!

The bedroom pillows could have been softer but really nothing to dislike

Now this is a proper 4-star hotel. recently refurbished, clean, great staff. Our family room was huge with a large sofa bed for our son. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant - room service would be from the local steak house next door. But there are plenty of restaurants in short walking distance and a good breakfast was available in the morning.

Lovely hotel close to the centre of town, with secure parking and a very nice outside terrace area. Room was stylish with lovely clean soft carpet.

Air con was broken the night we stayed. Shower was annoying. You had to choose between a full-on waterfall, or a small hand-held hose at waist height, so impossible to have a proper shower without getting hair wet. Also there was no door on it so had to mop up bathroom floor. Otherwise very nice.

Very good breakfast. Good location, easy to find, near the centre, good underground parking.

No comfort pack, eg, cleansing pads, cotton buds, emery board, etc. Mercure in Reims has complementary toiletries. No milk for in-room tea and coffee. Liquid is preferable to powdered, which is usually disgusting! No English- speaking tv channels (CNN, BBC World) even though the channels are listed in the channel directory.

Large bedroom, decent breakfast and secure underground parking (although you need to reserve in advance as spaces would be limited at peak periods). Short walk into the old town.

Parking for check-in wasn't sign-posted (turn left just before car park entrance, down the side of the hotel), but managed to find a spot on a side street to get the key card to access the car park. Although the bedroom was very large, the ensuite was disproportionately small - more poor design by Mercure than a fault of the hotel!

An attractive building, good location and secure covered parking were greatly appreciated. The breakfasts were also very good too. My husband was delighted that there was a kettle with tea/coffee making facilities in the room and bottles of water in the fridge greatly appreciated too. We were relieved to find Hippopotamus the restaurant next door as finding somewhere to eat over the Easter weekend was quite difficult. Our room was spacious, with good storage and very quiet at night.

Our room was a good size but the bed was uncomfortably hard, and the pillows were uncomfortable too. Paper cups were all that were available due to Covid restrictions but they were incredibly small. We were offered a free drink in the lounge in place of having our room cleaned which we thought was reasonable but in the end we never claimed it.

Breakfast great. Staff very helpful. Found us free parking as roof-box took us over 1.9 m car park height limit. And offered secure storage for bikes. All round super stay in junior suite, accommodating two adults and two children in comfort. Troyes town centre is great to walk around. Hotel is easy walk to medieval city centre.

Location. Secure parking. Very modern and lovely decorated room and smart hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

The air-conditioning did not work. It was a very hot couple of nights and we had to open our windows to cool down the room. This has been mentioned on previous reviews of the hotel.
