this hotel thoroughly deserves full marks for everything, It is is s superb location next to the river and close to the village as well as perfect to use as a base for walking, cycling and sight-seeing. The breakfast is fantastic with lots of choices and everything is super fresh. The room was amazing with a beautiful balcony to sit out and enjoy the views. Monika and all the staff were so helpful and welcoming. Monika in particular was a brilliant ambassador for the local area and even offered a lift to the train station! You will not be disappointed by this hotel!

Monica from the main reception was always wonderful. Always happy to help with any questions, She even made suggestions for day trips and was extremely good at her job. She made us feel very warm and welcome for our 8 night stay there. Very clean rooms and a nice renovation overall. We often stay in 5* accomodation and was hesitant when we arrived and the exterior looked like the timber needed some attention. I was concerned that this could be a reflection of the inside, but it wasn’t at all. Inside was comfortable and cosy, inviting and relaxing. We felt it was also very good value and our room #20 was spacious by European standards. I believe some of the rooms are smaller than the one we stayed in and some are also bigger.

1. At first our room key tag did not work and this had us locked out of our room for a short period of time. eventually it re-set itself and worked. 2. Would recommend that they change their pillows 3. At least 2km from the main centre of town and a steep hill to walk up which could be a problem for some people. buses nearby though.

Lovely hotel, recently refurbished. Very comfortable room and bed and lovely touches such as water and a rucksack and umbrellas for guests to use. Breakfast was fabulous and a wide choice.

Other guests should have said the walk into town is 25 minutes not 15. Whilst not the hotels fault guests below our room were smoking on their balcony at 7am and as we had our windows open the smell was in our room. The hotel should ban smoking on the balcony as I’m sure it would get into the room. Unfortunately there are a lot of smokers in Germany!

Really great and quiet location, very close to bust stop so if you are using public transport it’s easy to reach. Staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms were very clean and great view of mountains from the room. Breakfast like many have said is great and lots of options for vegetarians as well.

Just one thing I din’t like that despite I booked one double bed, my room had 2 single beds combined together, leaving a small gap in between. Although beds were comfortable.

Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of breads, fruits and vegetables. Excellent attention at the reception and they give you a card to use the bus to reach the different attractions at Berchtesgaden National Park.

The room and the hotel in general was extremely clean and the decoration very comfortable to be at, amazing views to the mountains and lots of parking spaces. The breakfast is noteworthy for the quality and variety and the staff without exception was very friendly. A short walk will take you to the center, but it is a couple of Kms down the road - that said, it is a very pleasant walk.

Fantastic little hotel. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast absolutely superb. Wide selection and all you can eat. If travelling in summer try to sit outside (but space is limited). Rooms are a pleasant size with good modern bathroom. Parking is easy and readily available for all. Beds very comfortable. Room has tea/coffee facilities, safe, writing pad & pen and bath robes. Wifi works well without drop outs. Hotel is near the main road but you can't hear traffic, just the nearby river. Good view of the mountains. Hotel is on the edge of town (near the salt mine) but still within easy walking access of town (especially the local brewery beer garden for great meals). A place that was a great find in a town full of good hotels. A bit more costly than some Bertchesgarten hotels, but great value for money. Very highly recommended.

Hotel reception close at 9pm and most of the ground floor is closed off. Not a problem for me but this means lift access for disabled is closed off overnight. Lift access can still be had between level 1 & 3 overnight but you have to climb the stairs to level 1. Aside from that all was great. Nothing I didn't like or enjoy.

The bedroom was clean and a good size for us, and, we had a balcony. The shower was of a good size and had good water pressure. Great breakfast, lots of choice. Easy walking distance to the town centre along the river. Friendly, helpful staff. Parking was not a problem as there was always enough available spaces.

The bathroom was on the small side.

I was extremely happy with my stay. I did not expect the fine level of accommodation for the price. The staff was fluent in English and very helpful. The location was perfect for me traveling by bicycle, close to the town but very quiet. The breakfast was outstanding, and I will definitely return to this hotel.

I have nothing to suggest. Please don’t change anything.

The hotel was really modern and really comfy! the buffet was also really really good with lots of regional products. The staff was also friendly and helpful.

Even if the location is known, the hotel is a bit more far away from Berchtesgaden city center that it looks like, 30 min walking with a good uphill at the end or 5 min drive. Luckily the hotel offers free private parking so this makes things easier.
