A Home Away From Home: My Experience at Kiez Hostel ! Stepping out of my home country for the first time was nerve-wracking, but Kiez Hostel instantly put me at ease. The friendly and gentle staff welcomed me like family, making the transition to a new environment incredibly smooth. Their dedication to efficient and timely maintenance ensured a comfortable stay, and the convenient location near supermarkets like Aldi (just 150 meters away!), allowed me to easily prepare my own meals while still enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the hostel. What truly surprised me was the perfect blend of tranquility and liveliness at Kiez. While the hostel itself offered a quiet and safe environment, just 100 meters away lies Warschauer Straße station, a bustling hub for both party-goers and families. This convenient location allowed me to explore both sides of Berlin's dynamic personality with ease. During my stay, I met over 15 incredible individuals from across the globe, each encounter enriching my experience. The hostel fostered a truly unique atmosphere, making it a "home away from home" in every sense of the word. If you're looking for a welcoming and comfortable base to explore the city, I highly recommend Kiez. You won't be disappointed!

For extended stays exceeding 5 days, having access to in-house laundry facilities might be helpful for some guests, but it certainly didn't detract from my overall experience.

There are many considerate and thoughtful things this accommodation provided their guests with: hygienic equipment like cotton swabs and pads, heat bottles, free tea, chargers in the common area. I really like it when owners pay attention to all the details and find that important their guests having a fantastic time. Decoration was very elaborated, I liked the bamboos all around, and the design of the rooms was perfect. Rooms were named after the style of the room: ours name was sleeping car, and it looked exactly like a train sleeping car. Close to transportation (tram, train, metro), entertainment facilities, shopping mall, concert halls.

I liked everything.

I couldn't have expected a better stay in Berlin! I traveled alone, stayed in the girls only room where I met wonderful people. The impeccable cleanliness, the friendly guys who work there, the optimal location both for reaching the most tourist center and for enjoying the nightlife and typical Berlin clubbing have definitely made this place the best place I could have expected to have a base as a solo traveler . The station is less than ten minutes away and the various trams make getting around super easy. There are numerous places where you can eat between €5 and €15 in the surrounding area. Berghain literally 4 minutes away for the bravest. I entered and I assure you that it is worth it! Every time I return to Berlin, I will know where I can feel at home, in this hostel.

Overall, my experience was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The kitchen, showers, and toilets were immaculately clean, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, with no artificial smells from the bed linen, which was perfect for someone like me who has allergies. I slept very well throughout my stay. Occasionally, some neighbors returned from parties late at night or early in the morning, but that's to be expected when staying in a hostel. The building itself is charming, with lofty ceilings that add to its character.

The shared space near the kitchen tended to be quite cold as the heater was often switched off. While the room was warmer, it still felt chilly at times because the heater wasn't consistently operational, especially during the night. However, with a sweater on, it was still quite comfortable.

Perfect location, as I needed to b in that Eastern part of Berlin close to Mercedes-Benz Arena, its short walkin distance from Warschauer Strasse Metro & Rail station (direct train to/from airport). Easy to find. Clear instructions how to check-in. Friendly kind staff. Cozy dim-lighted lobby wiz comfortable sofas. Free big-variety teabags & coffee was huge plus. Well equipped small kitchen. Clean bathrooms/toilets. Wide dorm-room & bunk-bed. Big locker space. The table & chairs were useful extras. Great value for money. Would stay there again.

The hot water in the shower is needed after midnight sometimes. I got back late once but there was none.

The hostel is just perfect. The 6-bed dormitory room offers enough space for every guest. Bathrooms and shared spaces are very clean. Well-appreciated details such as: complimentary tea, hot-water bottles, and tampoons in the ladies'. Beds are comfortable. Each guest has a locker with a padlock. Free (and working) wi-fi. The location is closed to the U and the S stations. Nearby there are a lot of shops, bars, pubs in a lively part of the city. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Truly highly recommended.

Nothing. I couldn't ask for more or better.

Super nice hostel and great value for money!! •Nice hangout area •Good kitchen facilities even if it's small •Good WiFi for remote working •Comfy dorms, enough space and VERY comfortable bed for a dorm! •Amazing hot showers with good pressure •Quiet at night even though located very close to Berghain •Helpful and friendly staff •Felt very safe as a solo female traveller •Easy to meet people •Would stay again 👍🏽

The kitchen is very small, so it's hard to cook if anyone is there at the same time. But this is a small thing. The girls only bathroom stalls have big gaps so doesn't feel very private 😅

the lady in charge was very gentle and she was focused on providing go services. for instance, they made a mistake and she tried to find out how to compensate the problem, that was nice.

there were 3 bed in a row (3m front the ground to go go down, for me is to much when I received my bed), so when want to go to the WC at night was really dangerous and noisy for everyone. Nevertheless, the other was good.

Everything is clean and minimalistic - just what I like. The rooms are spacious, even for 8 people. They don't feel crammed. Even though I slept on a 3-bunk bed, it was super comfy. The pillows are large and the mats are soft.

I had to wait half an hour for the check-in because apparently it only begins from 17.00. This isn't a huge deal as I could've timed it better, but still it was odd not to have anyone on the reception at earlier time.
