Excellent location. Room had everything for my needs.

Cross the street, quite noisy late pub with lots of people in the street drinking and smoking. Well, begin this central close to pubs and restaurant, cannot expect it to be entirely quiet.

Check in was very quick and easy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very large and spotlessly clean and the breakfast had a big choice. The hotel is about 300 metres easy walking from the Central Rail Station which has direct access to the airport. Checkout was at 12:00 but we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel until going for our evening flight. If we visit Hamburg again we will definitely stay at the Best Western St Raphael.

The area was not the best with quite a few drug addicts and homeless but they were never a problem or intimidating.

Good location near the train station. Nice b'fast, but one expected at a 4* hotel.

The interrupted internet service. It was cut off after 4 hours. U had to sign back in after that time period. So if ur out for the day and wonder why ur internet isn't working when u get back, that's it. It's hard to believe in today's society, where nearly every mom and pop hotel around the world can provide uninterrupted internet service, a major multinational business, with over 6 Billion in revenue in 2023, hasn't figured out how to do it. Best Western should be embarrassed. I'm embarrassed for them.

Absolutely wonderful staff: friendly, helpful, attentive. Excellent room: I stayed in 535. Had a huge, beautiful tree in front with all the colours of the stunning autumn leaves, very comfy bed and pillows, high-pressure shower. Gym: Small but had weights so was perfect for me :). Location: Very close to main train station and bus station.

Location: The area seemed super dodgy :(. Many homeless and mentally unwell people catcalling and staring weirdly. Very dirty street with urine and cigarette butts all over. I did not leave the hotel at night as I was too afraid travelling solo - bit sad as there seemed to be christmas lights in the main town square that I'd have loved to see.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, excellent breakfast selection, very efficient air conditioning unit. Great location, very close to the main station for long distance trains, and to an S-Bahn station to get to the airport, bus stop right outside to get to/from the Speicherstadt too

Room was a little dated and on the small side, fine for 1 person for 1 night, but glad I wasn't staying there for much longer. Pillows weren't great, but I managed! There was traffic noise with the window open, but soundproofing was good when shut. And early in the morning I was aware the trains had started running, but that's a downside of being so close to a station

We were upgraded to a large, lovely room. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Staff were very helpful especially Mumuni who was delightful and went above and beyond to make us welcome and gave good advice and support to us, two foreign pensioners in a new place. Having read reviews about the walk to the station being uncomfortable because of homeless people and drug takers, we were relieved that it wasn't as bad as we feared. No worse than many towns and cities in the UK. We did not feel unsafe. Breakfast was a sight to behold and a feast to enjoy, again with helpful staff. It was very busy, but one female staff member (I didn't get her name) stopped to work the waffle maker for me! A great experience in a lovely city. Our luggage was stored when we checked out so we could spend another day sightseeing before our late flight home.

Based on the reviews I'd read from other guests, I was expecting something a but in need of a renovation, but we were both thrilled with the hotel and our accommodation! Nice and clean room, very comfortable beds, blackout curtains to keep out the light. We arrived earlier than check-in, and I'd figured we'd leave our luggage with the front desk, but they contacted housekeeping to prepare our room and let us check in right then. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station, and not that much farther from the historic centre. We only took the metro when we were exploring some of the less central neighbourhoods.

Everything was great. I suppose it would've been nice to have a metro station right there, but it really wasn't too far.

Friendly staff both on the reception and bar. Nice lounge area to sit with friends. The room was comfortable and enough space for 2 people.

Location was not in an ideal area. Surrounding area felt a little unsafe, with drug use in public view during the day. Breakfast buffet had a good selection, but the hot food was not replenished when they ran out (fried eggs/sausages) but plenty of other options to choose from. We stayed 2 nights and used the tea facilities in the room, but nothing was replaced the day after.

Hotel was really cool. Facilities are nice except for the elevator. I understand its old ans classy but its kinda slow. Location was nice as it is located super close to the main train station of Hamburg and the bus central station.

It was kinda weird when I checked in. The receptionist on duty was making faces and even told me that he was certain that the booking was under my husband's name. Well in fact it was under mine. Asians do have credit cards do we? This employee has a major issue with race.

Hotel is located very conveniently very close to the central railway station of Hamburg within 10 minutes walking. The area is full of shops and restaurants. Hotel is located in the old building, but renovated and up to all modern standards. Rooms are rather small but ok for night stay as we were out most of the time. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Excellent breakfast with hot meals, good selection of cold cuts, tea and coffee, etc. We stayed in a Standard Double room, it was clean with A/C, electric kettle, TV, etc. Bed was not very big, but comfortable; bathroom was a bit small but with all toiletries.

Pay attention to the area as it might get noisy and dodgy in the night. It is natural due to the location but take into account when planning your stay.
