This hotel was an amazing find. First, the location is superb. I walked to all the main Hamburg sights from the hotel. Second - the breakfasts are wonderful and extremely reasonable - so much more so than in most other hotels. 9.50 Euros for as much as you can eat and drink, and you eat in a lovely room that goes out onto a pretty courtyard garden (you can eat in the garden if you want). Quiet classical music and newspapers - a wonderful touch - make it such a pleasant, civilised place to be. No rushing. It's like another world. Thirdly, the hotel is in a lovely historical building so has character, unlike most of the hotels I looked at in Hamburg. Fourthly, I had a room at the back and it was so wonderfully peaceful. I slept so well there (you can also open all the windows and have fresh air, which is so rare in modern hotels!) The staff were all so nice too. Just the right balance of being friendly without intruding on privacy. Finally, being British and liking my morning tea, I also really appreciated having a kettle in the room - that is not always the case in German hotels. I loved this place and would definitely return and recommend it unreservedly if you like a place with character.

Really hardly anything! It would have been nice to have had a lift, as I had a ridiculously heavy suitcase, but fully understand that in a historical building you can't have one - and the location and character were more important to me. Also, it would have been good to have had longer hanging space for dresses - especially given it's a women's hotel. But really, these are very tiny points! :-)

Quite close to town, the room was comfortable, breakfast was really nice and good value and the staff were lovely. Easy to control temperature of room, and a handy map of the town was provided. The shower was lovely and hot, as was the water in the rooms. Room also came with a kettle which was useful for cups of tea and snacks

Nothing I didn't like but note to others who are less fit or mobile - my room was on the third floor and the staircase was a little uneven, so if you'd struggle with that, book an en suite room as they appeared to be on the lower floors, as I said, I'm reasonably fit so wasn't an issue for me.

The Hotel was super clean, well situated, safe and very quiet at night, good location. Close to any public transport. The host was very friendly and all was well organized. My phone connected to wifi easily, my notebook did not in the room but that was not an issue for me. I did not mention it to the hotel staff as my stay was short. I will definitely stay there again, recommended.

Look into stronger wifi signal in the rooms.

It was clean, quiet and good location near expo hall.

The mindset was a bit funny and weird. If I asked to leave my bag after check out and they said I can leave it in the hall. Whick would have been fine, but my work laptop was in the bag. So I asked if there is more secure place for it, I got replied that I wouldn’t worry as only females are in this hotel! Like women don’t steal? :)

The hotel is in a central location in walking distance to major sights and with excellent public transport links. Staff at the hotel were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The breakfast was fantastic with a wide range of organic food and drinks. I'd very happily stay at the hotel again!

Beautiful old building, cute courtyard, quiet but easily accessible location, and nice touches like slippers, little chocolates in the room, quiet classical music playing in the dining area at breakfast, friendly staff, basic but clean and cosy room all made for a relaxed and comfortable stay. Oh, and gluten free options at breakfast (including a homemade bread) were a welcome surprise!

A small fridge in the room would've been a bonus. No other concerns though, it's a great small hotel run by respectful and kind women. Highly recommended.

Nice compact room with lots of little comfortable touches such as tissues, kettle, shoe horn (and tea bags in reception) and in a lovely old building. All very clean including the shared toilet/ bathroom and the bed was comfortable. I left early so didn't get breakfast. Friendly reception staff and would certainly stay here again.

Nothing - all was good

Lovely cosy comfy room, nice touches like the slippers, makes it a bit more like home. Felt very welcome, had breakfast one of the mornings, lovely selection enjoyed it, (too early leaving on the second morning. ) very clean!

Nothing, I could complain of the stairs, right at the top,but it was good exercise. So nothing to dislike.

Nice place, good shower, friendly staff. Very handy map of Hamburg provided.

Street outside was somewhat noisy, but we live in a quiet village, so aren't used to it. Also, I wish hotels didn't waste the planet's resources giving out free slippers!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Super clean (room and bathroom were squeaky clean during every day of my stay - and I am picky with cleanliness!), organized and the room I stayed at had a sink, which was very convenient. The room was well equipped, well lit and very cozy. The location is good too, close to a metro station and walking-distance to the center and coast. Would recommend to any women traveling do Hamburg.
