The Niu was an excellent example of the new mid-price chains. Location was convenient with S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations within easy walk and connecting to both central station and airport. WIFI was very good. Back-lava on Wandsbeker Chaussee is a quality option for breakfast outside hotel with reasonable prices and extremely friendly staff.

Hotel bar prices were pretty high (although hotel did offer free drinks in exchange for not changing towels/making bed). There was space enough in room to replace the narrow 'ledge' under TV with a wider desk-style top. Difficult to use laptop/write other than sitting in/on bed.

- Very nice location; close to S-Bahn and U-Bahn, and there are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby. However, I would not recommend it for people who feel the need to be close to nightlife hotspots, because it's not that close to those areas. But for my purposes it was really good, because I'm not a party animal. But the neighbourhood was much better than I expected; it's a lively area. - Hotel was relatively inexpensive, but it had good quality. The room and common areas were in good condition and there were some nice designs on the walls. - 95% of my interactions with the personnel were good and enjoyable.

- Maybe the view from my room could have been better and more attractive, but we're speaking about a really minor flaw here. Otherwise I had nothing to complain.

The Hotel is very conveniently located 5 minutes from the U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations, also 3 minutes from the nearest REWE Supermarket and across the road from LIDL. There is a bar at the reception, where you can get free drink, just follow the instructions in your room. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was varied and everyone could find something to their liking. Staff was very nice and helpful. Wi-Fi was fast and there was a Smart TV in the room.

Unfortunately it was very cold in the room, and the heating was not working, even after asking at the reception. The only solution was to leave the bathroom door open where it was very hot. There was no fridge or minibar in the room.

Fabulous hotel - part of a chain but very quirky too. Great bedroom, very comfortable bed, excellent shower, power points where you need them. Very handy for S-Bahn (Friedrichsburg slightly easier) and U-Bahn, but in a decent neighbourhood as well with its own big shops and local restaurants. If you don't need your room cleaned and you put the right tag on the door you get a free drink at the bar, which is a really nice touch. And it's a nice bar too - ask for their Landgang Brauerei craft beers!

Slamming doors - the door mechanisms are set to slam if left alone to close, and the whole floor shakes! Not good if you are trying for an early night or a lie-in. The wi-fi was a little unreliable from time to time. The check-in desk is often busy and the machine in the lobby is basically an iPad set inside a big terminal and is slow and fiddly to use - remote check-in hopefully works better.

1) The location is perfect if you plan to use public transportation to reach your destination. Few minutes of walk you can reach S/U bahn station. 2) If you arrive hotel by car, their parking lot is very convenient and it costs only EUR 10 per day. 3) Nearby you can easily reach REWE/ Lidl supermarket, and a huge Asian supermarket behind the hotel. 4) The Staff are very friendly.

1) The heating system is not powerful enough, in the end o November, the room is quite cold. 2) It takes few minutes to get hot water for the first one using the shower system, but once you get it, the water is hot enough. 3) No Kettle and cups in the room.

The bed was extremely comfortable and despite a big road in front of the hotel, it was extremely quiet during the night. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped. I loved the location 5 minutes from subway, tram and bus, all of which have many connections during the day. The breakfast was good and worth the price. I particularly liked that I could borrow a little plant for my room, and there was an option of not getting housekeeping but instead getting invited to a free drink at the hotel bar. The lobby could be used for working, the internet connection worked perfectly.

The room was clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. There were some card games available in the room to play during the free time. The location is 20 mins S-bahn ride from the HBF and S- station is at 5 mins walkable distance.

There was no phone to call the reception and ask for help. Be careful about honey bees entering the room from windows. It would have been great if there were few additional amenities like glasses for drinking water, shower cap, kettle.

I didn’t like how the manager lied to me saying that 30 rooms was being booked and when I went to the receptionist that wasn’t the case . Only because I didn’t call down to extend my stay they wanted to call the police. Not sure if it was racial bias but I was very disappointed on something that escalated quickly because I overslept. Other than that everything was enjoyable

Second visit here. Chain hotel with quirky decor. Good rooms, free beer if you don't have your bedding changed is a nice touch. Good location close to U-Bahn and two S-Bahn stations and local shops.

Online check-in is fiddly and doesn't work properly. The doors still slam very hard so the floor shakes when doors are closed.

This is perfect hotel for business trips as well as for travel with family. I liked lication,since it was further away from center,but same time accessible with public transportation. Stuff were very friendly and i qould give extra points for they welcoming smiles and all the help.

Breakfast could have been better, for this money i would say it is not worth taking it.
