We had a lovely corner Jr Suite large with sitting area, small balcony very charming and clean. Room was great Front Desk provided excellent service.. Please note in September they give staff time off from a busy summer so the Restaurant was only open for breakfast, we were not informed prior to arrival but there were other restaurants close by. Also the Bar in the lobby quite charming was not staffed by a Bar Tender due to staff being off, Front Desk offered to make some drinks, so that area was a little quiet. However, excellent service, very clean and charming. A lovely older hotel maintained very well kept with such beautiful history well documented in pictures . Located close to the main train station within walking distance but rooms on left side of hotel facing the Zoo so you had a great view of the animals ( not loud) in the morning. Single rooms do have less attractive views on lower floors which include alley areas so ask for higher floors on left side of the hotel . My sons had two such rooms. Charming Breakfast and pastry shop around the corner.. Good Wifi.. Parking, they do warn you about this, it is limited but every attempt was made to accommodate guests to park, we had to park on the street one night only. They do have tour groups so a large bus was in the middle of the parking lot at times but you could park around it. This was September slightly off season so I do not know how much of an issue this is in the summer. You are located out of the city center, but there are trams that go to the city center about 10-15 minutes. Gym well equipped.

As mentioned, request rooms higher up with better views on left side. Parking may be an issue at times.

I was returning by train from Berlin to Basel, when a freak rainstorm wiped out the DB signalling system and we all had to leave the train at Karlsruhe, further travel impossible. Some people slept the night in the train - some, like me, blew a hundred Euros on comfort. I booked, using my mobile phone , while standing in line at this hotel along with dozens of others. Totally uncomplicated, very comfortable room, friendly staff. Great location, next to the station. I would go there for a future visit to Karlsruhe!

The location is just across the Karlsruhe train station and near the zoo. The location is therefore quite ok, even though the center is ca. 2km away. Parking was available in front of the hotel. The hotel facilities are already rather worn out. We had a rather large and comfortable room with a large double bed. The breakfast was pleasant and had all fresh things necessary

There was no safe in the room. Also the restaurant of the hotel was closed until the middle of October for as the announcement said for a “creative pause”.

Great location and great ambiance. It has the charm of the old railway station hotels. My room was very quiet and spacious. The area has some good restaurants and it I’ve very convenient for transports.

It is nearing the time of a refurbishment or an update. Although the furnishing and amenities were good, they start feeling a bit dated, in particular the heat control was a bit tricky.

Breakfast was available until 11am at weekends. But by 10am the food was not replenished. An expensive €19 breakfast! The hotel is beside the zoo, can be a little noisy due to Flamingos close by! On the day of departure staff knocked on the bedroom door twice before check out at 11am

A friendly, clean hotel near the train station. Easy access, nearby restaurants, and seeing lemurs from our balcony at the Karlsruhe Zoo was also a bonus!

On Sundays and Mondays the evening restaurant is closed. We understand that, at this time of year, there's not much demand - but the snacks were only drinks from a machine. They could provide a guide to close-by restaurants for travelers who arrive late but are still hungry.

Lovely old historic building and easy to get to. Good parking if you arrive in time to secure a place although it's a little pricey at €18. The hotel is located next to the main train station and about 1.5km from the town centre. There are lots of bars and restaurants close to the hotel too. Breakfast was good.

Nothing to dislike.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us - right next to the trams and trains we used every day and 15-20 mins walk to the shops, restaurants and baths that we used during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the mini bar wasn't too expensive.

Unfortunately, I asked what time the sauna in the hotel could be used but when I went to use it it wasn't even on. So after complaining about that, I asked if it would be on in the morning. I was told it would be but it wasn't. I don't mind if they need or want to close it but please don't tell me it is working fine when it isn't. Three different receptionists weren't aware that the sauna wasn't turned on. Also the room was a bit tight for space. My wife on several occasions stubbed her toes as there wasn't much room at the end of the bed.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very kind and supportive and they corporate with us when we needed. The breakfast was good. Service in the restaurant were amazing and the staff were very kind. Room size was vert big and have a good lightning and the bathroom was big also. We stayed there for 4 nights. It was the best 4 nights in germany.

The room was very cold and they did not open the heater for us. They told it is still the summer and they did not open it. I could not sleep very well at night because of this. Also they did not have room service at evening and night. We asked for water at 9 pm and they told us to come and take it because there is no staff.

What we liked was the breakfast, amazing! Very fancy lights and great food. We also liked the cappuccino machine as opposed to having normal coffee. It made things seem even more special. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. There was also lotion, nail files, and some other things in case you forgot (Q-tips, etc). The soap in the shower smelled good. We also got their the evening where the Zoo was opened until 10pm (July 1-2). We had dinner nearby-at a restaurant with outdoor seating and then enjoyed the Zoo. We really liked our stay in Karlsruhe. I also liked hearing animal noises from the Zoo and seeing into an exhibit, because I LOVE animals.

What I did not like was there was not any air conditioning or a fan and it was very hot when we got into the stuffy room. I figure that is typical for Germany though, so we didn't complain. We opened up the window for fresh (cooler air) at night in the evening and a wasp came in. My husband killed it. Maybe a screen on the window would be a god idea, or a fan or A/C.
