If you are looking for the classic German Hotel with a picturesque setting and beer garden - this is it. We felt like we were whisked back in history to enjoy a classic setting. Outstanding German hospitality from beginning to end.

Parking was on the street and subject to time restrictions. It didn’t impact much as the restrictions are 2 hour parking up to 6:00pm and after 8:00am. We were able to get a spot directly in front of the hotel and put our time card on at 4:30 for the evening and then popped out at 8:00 to cover until we checked out. The staff were awesome around this and provided excellent assistance.

The Ambience. The room was comfortable and nicely 'old fashioned' but with all modern facilities. The restaurant for dinner was inimate and provided a shady corner for a romantic evening. The restaurant for breakfast was cosy and boasted a good enough selection for any taste The whole experience exceeded what was expected to be a 'functional stay' and turned out to be a memorable adventure.

The hotel boasts free parking, but the parking was 'wherever on the nearby streets' that you could find. Then transporting luggage (Christmas presents in this instance) was a bit of a chore. But it did not detract from the hotel itself which welcomed with a gluwein and mulled wine evening in a highly and nicely decorated forecourt.

We were there last year. This year was to 'recapture the magic' and it was not disappointing. Everything was as expected and just as nice. This could be an Annual event for us !

We did not book the restaurant in advance, but as residents, we could not eat the evening meal in the hotel. Totally our fault, but must think to reserve in advance next time. There are local restaurants nearby that are good regardless.

Nice old house with modern rooms. Had the very cozy duplex under the roof.

It's all super nice so only very minor suggestions: - plug / multi plug near the bed would be handy - parking is free, but it's on-street parking so depending on availability - 10 points if asking the guest for a table reservation for dinner ...

The only drawback was that construction of an addition was going on....should be even better when that is done. Maybe that is related to the restaurant being closed.

Excellent historical building with a restaurant on site. Perfect for staying a night or two when viewing something in the stadium nearby.

Parking was difficult and you could be nearby only with some luck.

The room was quite big and very clean. We had the room faced on the kitchen side of the restaurant, it was very quiet in the night. The hotel is just next to the bicycle way along the Neckar river. Very comfortable if you plan a bicycle excursion.

Wi-Fi signal was poor within the room. If you arrive in the evening the parking may be full due to restaurant's guests. In this case it could be difficult to find a parking nearby.

Location is close to Heidelberg, Karlsruhe and other places.

The stream of the water was less time to time and sometimes no water especially in the night.

Location was fantastic. Everyone spoke English which is a bonus when you only have very basic German.

Was great to be upgraded to a suite but the 3 flights of stairs was a trial for old legs!!

a very comfortable room, nice personel. Restaurant with a summer terrace, offers a very good food; menu is not too wide but to the benefit of quality. The restaurant was full of people, but waiters were quick and the quality of food was perfect; we ate steak medium rare and it was delicious; good Riesling. Location nearby the river and wooded part. It was not a problem to take our dogs to the restaurant and the staff was very friendly.

we stayed during a very hot summer, on the 1st flood it was getting hot after 9 o'clock am, air conditioning would be helpful. Free parking place can be a challenge :-) but we managed to find one.
