Breakfast was very good. Do note, there may not be air conditioning in your room (ours did not but was a cooler night so was fine). Your room may not be in the same building as the main hotel (have the option of taking a golf cart with your bags to the room). Parking, paid, was down the road behind a gate.

Location is great, clean, comfortable rooms and beds. Nice size bathroom and shower. Room finish and details were excellent. The breakfast was great. The food in the restaurant can be very good

The hotel / restaurant / beer garden etc..are very focused on turning tables to the detriment of guests hoping to enjoy a relax paced meal. Hotel guests are 100% not welcome (confirmed twice by management on 2 separate days) to enjoy the beer garden unless you are eating a meal. You cannot have a beer or wine in the beer garden between the hours of 12-2pm or 6-9pm unless you are also eating a meal. The hotel beer garden is the only location in Rothenburg I found during our 3.5 day stay where people were not welcome to simply enjoy a local beer or wine in the beer garden.... Myself and other hotel guests had no problems at any other hotel / restaurant / beer garden. We were warmly welcomed...just not at the hotel we were guests at.

Location, location, location. Beautiful hotel inside and out. It was very charming. Dinner at the restaurant was superb. We were seated in the back restaurant. The working fire place added to the charm of the place. Never felt rushed to eat and leave. Attentive host and wait staff. Host made an excellent wine recommendation. The sauerbraten and schnitzel were superb. Definitely try the small house salad, if only for the delicious dressing.

Room key bobble was heavy and cumbersome. The 5 € charge to have air conditioning in the room. Charge for bottled water in the room. Lack of an iron/ironing board. Having to pay a deposit to get a key to use the room safe. Breakfast was good, except they ran out of hot food. Only hot food available at the time of our seating was scrambled eggs.

Hotel in heart of Rothenburg . Great bicycle inside secure storage . Only down side was a 2.00€ charge per bike stored . First time in our 3 months of travel by bicycle in Europe this has happened . May be a new trend . Reception was very friendly with good English. Room spacious - classic furniture and very modern bathroom . Elevator to upper rooms . Coffee/Tea pot in room . Great on-site restaurant with numerous choices and reasonable price point . Good breakfast with hot and cold choices .

This 2.00€ charge per bike per night is a new and not so pleasant precedent .

This hotel is so cute and quaint. The rooms were comfortable, the location can’t be beat. The breakfast (which is included!) was wonderful. And the staff were so wonderful. I had an upset stomach when we checked in and I was visibly uncomfortable. I’d barely walked up to the desk when the woman working asked if I was ok. I explained I wasn’t feeling well. I walked away for a minute to tell my husband instructions for parking, and when I returned, she had some chamomile tea for me and told me she hopes I feel better. It was such a kind and welcoming gesture. Being sick away from home is miserable, but I felt cared for and comfortable and I am so grateful.

The hotel is spectacular and everything we imagined. Reception staff were very friendly and polite. We have visited Rothenburg many times and always looked at this hotel. We have eaten at the restaurant many times in the past and the food is always of a very high standard. The ambiance is terrific and exceeds expectations. It is right in the centre of Rothenburg and handy for everything.

The terrace serving staff were busy and in too much of a hurry and can seem a bit rude, dashing off as they are still writing your order. It wasn't just during this stay but we have encountered this several times in the past. Being a little more friendly and spending more time with customers would make the terrace restaurant experience much better. The wine bar area was closed which was a shame as this area is very traditional and welcoming.

Room was very spacious. Location was great. Quiet at night. Restaurant was great. Staff helpful and friendly. Water pressure in shower was perfect.

Mattresses were very hard. Room key was very large and heavy. Parking in gated lot was inconvenient. Would need staff to let you in and out every time. Bathroom could’ve used some hooks for towels or clothes. A deposit was required for room safe, then you get a key. Should be electronic, otherwise it’s another key to carry around.

This hotel was so lovely, In the old style, it was tasteful and comfortable, complimenting the old worldliness of the town of Rothenburg. Would highly recommend. breakfast was lovely with a good variety, coffee exceptional. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant and that was good too. Although we chose to try another restaurant outside the hotel for the experience. Enjoyed our stay in Rothenburg. We stayed in a junior suite it was so generous in size after some of the tight accomodation in others hotels.

Get rid of the sensory light between bedroom and bathroom, or at the very least tone down the wattage.

Spectacular stay!! This is the best place in town (and I've spent a lot of time in Rothenburg). The rooms are beautiful, the location is exceptional (right on the site of the old medieval charnel house chapel and directly across from the St. Jakob church one block from the market square). The restaurant is also the best in town. Really the best place in Rothenburg!

Lovely traditional family run hotel - a nice change from impersonal chain hotels. Excellent restaurant serving traditional dishes. Lots of staff in the hotel and restaurant. Secure Parking was 200 yards from the hotel but they transport you and your cases by golf buggy. Good value for money, and I’d recommend it. One minor point - we booked a superior double room but the room description on booking.com was not accurate. There was no sofa in the room or a bathtub in the bathroom. It was still a nice room, so I’m not complaining, but just mentioning in case these things are important to you.
