We were greeted by the most helpful gentleman, Taki, who checked us in, and let us park our car out front in order to unload our bags easily. He made sure we were happy with our rooms before settling us in, and even tried to relocate our kids to the same floor as us (hotel was sold out so not possible but ok as our kids are old enough). He had to carry our heavy bags up the stairs and didn't complain once. The hotel is located very central in old town Nafplio but at the quiet end of the area so the busy night time activity doesn't bother you, It is also two minutes walk to the waterfront so very convenient. The daily included breakfast was excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Excellent location, very friendly staff, beautifully decorated hotel, clean room. Our room was at the roof (3rd floor) so it had an amazing view from the terrace/balcony. Tasty breakfast, with choice of how you like your eggs which were freshly cooked once you ordered.

Almost nothing. A few things that would make it a 10+ stay for us would be if it had parking, elevator and window screens/mesh panels.

Great location. It is in the old section of town. It is close to lots of restaurants, shops and the seafront. It is a lovely old converted mansion. The room was very roomy and had a nice little balcony.

If you have a car you have to park in the public lots. They are several blocks away. There is no elevator so you have to climb some circular stairs to your room….but….The staff is great about taking you bags up and down for you.

The rooms were amazing. Tastefully decorated and with stellar beds. The bathroom was also very nice, despite not having baths (only shower). Breakfast was very tasty and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly (a great bonus when travelling with two small children). Everything was perfectly clean also, which is a must for me.

Nothing much on the negative side. An elevator would've been nice, but the style of house would make installing one difficult , I presume. The staff helped us bringing the bags up, so generally had not much issue with it. The center of Nafplio is absolutely not made for cars, so it was always a distance walking from the parking at the harbour to the hotel, even if it's a beautiful walk. Of course, this is nothing against the hotel, they can't help it, but it's something to keep in mind!

the location was good. breakfast was good. comfortable beds. cleanliness was very good.

the washroom was very clean. however, the room we stayed you have to go through the bathroom to the toilet. the floor was slippery. There is no handrail, no slip breaker on the floor. I fell despite knowing and saying to my group to be careful. During the slip there were no handrail to prevent the fall. I think it's dangerous. I did report to the staff, who replied this has not happened before. But I requested them to make it safe and user friendly.

Recently renovated beautiful little hotel in a gorgeous old building. Excellent location in a quiet part of town with beautiful vistas. Walking distance from the beach. Very spacious and tastefully decorated room with full amenities and very practical layout. Large bathroom. Sea view as advertised, best from the top floor. Spotless clean. Excellent staff, very professional, courteous and proactive.

As everywhere in Nafplio, parking is a gamble. Modern walk-in shower with no door, makes it difficult not to have water everywhere if you’re tall. For the room price, one would also expect a telephone, coffee machine and tissue box.

If you have never been to Nafplio you must visit and stay at Gambello. Nafplio is such a significant place in the history of Greek independence and has a rich history of development associated with the many cultures that have settled in this area. Gambello is perfectly located to visit the many sites, food places and bars. This hotel offers a near luxury stay at very reasonable prices. The rooms are always immaculately clean and maintained. We have stayed at both Gambello and the sister accommodation at Aethera rooms in Nafplio. We are very satisfied repeat visitors. .

Beautiful room, very clean and well-equipped (excellent air conditioning). Location was incredible. Steps from the water, shopping and restaurants. Delicious daily breakfast including in the room rate. Staff was very friendly and helpful!!

No parking lot available, only street parking. A lot of street noise at night.

Absolutely loved this hotel, very clean, modern, and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We are a family of 5 with one triple room and one double standard. Very close to all the restaurants and shops. One of the best hotel experiences we had in Greece! Highly recommend!

The room itself was beyond any praises! I went with my daughter, booked with a view of the bay. Upon arrival, it seems to me, we were given the best room in the house: on the third floor, with a balcony and a beautiful view of the Bourtzi fortress, the roofs of the houses and the bay of the Aegean Sea. The ceiling is high, the bed, mattress, pillows, linen are standard as in most of the 4 stars hotels. There were slippers, hairdryer, kettle, tea, coffee, and free water. Internet worked well, smart tv with Netflix. The building has been renovated, painted, prepared for the season. It was cold in the evening outside, but there was air conditioning for heating in the room.

Because the building is old, they have a lot of restrictions in the process of renovation, so the windows are new but no soundproofing. We heard the noise of motorcycles, bikes passed by early in the morning.
