The best place we stayed in on our trip to Iceland. The accommodation was clean and very spacious. It's in a great location, within walking distance of the centre of Akureyri, and in close proximity to shops and restaurants.

It was all good. No issues at all.

Location was amazing - walking distance to everything you could want. There was plenty of free parking right out front as well. The door code (for the building and the apartment) was hassle free and easy. There was an elevator up to apartment. We found the apartment to be well stocked, clean, and spacious. The heating floor system was easy to use. The laundry was also easy to use in the unit as well. Though there was no shower curtain in the shower, the way the floor eating & provided squeegee allowed us to remove the water that went on the bathroom floor. (I believe it was designed this way, just a note for us Americans who are used to shower curtains.) Overall, I would absolutely stay here again!

The only complaint was that there were not black out curtains on the windows in our unit. This made it hard to get a good night sleep in the summer.

Hrimland is a clean, modern, well decorated apartment near the waterfront. There’s adequate space, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well organized, and the balcony provides a comfortable place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the boats come in. After eight days of exploring Iceland, we particularly appreciated the washer and dryer. And the heated floors were a delight. The emailed check-in instructions were clear, and we had no trouble following the “house rules” posted just inside the front door. Free parking was always available right outside the building. Just remember that the entry code for the front door is exactly the same as the code used to access the apartment itself. And the trash bins that you use upon check-out are in back of the building under the exterior stairs. This really is a terrific place to stay—modern, clean, and right near the town center. I would be happy to spend a week or two there. Hrimland has my highest recommendation.

More clothes hangers and a small paring knife would be helpful.

A spacious modern apartment in an ideal location. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We had a couple of problems when we first got there (with the internet and the window in the bathroom), but these were sorted out the following day. It was also nice to have a washing machine and dryer so we could do some laundry in the middle of our holiday!

The cups provided were very small - some larger mugs would have been good! All communication seemed to be by email, which was a bit frustrating, although they always responded quickly.

Very clean, beautiful atmosphere, easy to get to and convenient location. Our stay was so wonderful we contemplated extending our vacation! Apartment had all of the basics you need like laundry and kitchen. Very close to amenities like grocery stores, pharmacy, gas stations.

The apartment is right by a main street, and our apartment windows faced that way so it was sometimes very loud with the windows open. The kitchen is very basic, there is no freezer (but there is an ice machine on the 1st floor) but it has everything you need for a simple and basic stay.

Really big apartment, spacious, stylish and modern. Comfortable bed, nice lighting, loved the sofa area and the table. Large parking just in front of the building. Nice shower, with washing machine and drier available in the bathroom. Centrally located, just in front of the port. Quite close to supermarkets working till 21:00, a big plus in Iceland. They helped us find the contact for a doctor for a little issue.

We did not receive the sms with the code access and had to call. We were provided a cot, but no linen nor pillow for the little one - a bit off in such a family-friendly country. The nearby area is fine, but not the nicest in town. A bit impersonal.

Apartment was so cute. Loved having a full kitchen so we could cook a proper meal. Coffee machine also available. Spacious apartment. Easy parking. Easy check in process. Very comfortable. It was also a 2 min walk to our whale watching tour and 10 min walk to some downtown areas. Washer dryer was also a major plus. Even tho we were only 2-3 days into our trip we utilized it and it was worth it for the rest of our trip.

We struggled with figuring out how to adjust the temperature correctly. It wasn’t a huge problem so we didn’t reach out for help but I’m sure we would have gotten proper instructions if we did.

Operating instructions in English for the appliances would have been useful. Only 4 very small-sized mugs (whereas there were 6 of everything else plus 26 glasses). Need more mugs/cups and larger ones!! Transfer of washer/dryer noise & vibration between apartments dreadful - need a rule that these appliances should not be run after 10p.m. at night. We were disturbed twice by inconsiderate guests using these appliances until 2a.m. Foreign visitors need potentially expensive mobile roaming in order to receive the door code

We stayed in Iceland for 2 weeks, at 6 different properties. Hrimland Apartments in Akureyri was the best property by far. The building looks very new and is well maintained. The location is perfect--right in front of the departure point for whale watching, and just 5 minutes walking distance from the main restaurant and shopping area. There is a new, modern, fast elevator, so no hauling your luggage up multiple flights of stairs like other properties. All the rooms are good sized. The bathroom is clean and modern, with plenty of shelf space, and the shower is human-sized. The kitchen is well equipped. Everything was clean and worked, including the washer and dryer, and there was free detergent. We loved this place and recommend it highly!

The hotel is brand new and modern, offering a full range of amenities including laundry and drying facilities, dishwashers, and capsule coffee machines. The parking space at the entrance is abundant and as spacious as the elevator. Indoor attractions and diverse supermarkets are conveniently accessible. Check-in and check-off instructions are clear and efficient. I really like this hotel and would recommend it 100% to family travelers.
