Pros: The room was very cosy, spacious and the bed was quite good. They have a restaurant if you want to have a dinner. Breakfast buffet was one of the better ones we had during our stay in Iceland including vegan food. The staff was extremely kind. There are enough parking spaces for everyone. We broke a window handle which was replaced immediately and were compensated by the hotel with a phenomenal chocolate cake which I can only suggest.
Cons: From the pictures it is not quite clear that the hotel consists of 2 parts – the new one with the view at the glacier and the old (probably renovated) one where we were staying. The windows are old and therefore a bit leaky when it is windy outside. The room had an strange odor. The TV was hanging on the wall but wasn’t connected – to be fair, it wasn’t advertised either so not considered for the points. The biggest issue and probably quite a dangerous one is that in our room the shower as well as the sink armature were conducting electricity so you can feel the tingling on your fingers, when you touch it and not wearing any shoes. I didn’t feel very comfortable showering knowing that.

This was the best hotel I had stayed during my Iceland trip. The selling point of this room was how close we are to the view. Be sure to book the room with mountain view. The other rooms would be face the carpark. The room is a nice big size. Breakfast was decent too, just enough. I like that it was more like a motel feel. The black outer colour gave a luxurious feel. We had come from Vik and stayed the first night here. The next day was a short drive to Vestrahorn/Stokkness/Viking village. We finished it by 3pm and rested the rest of the evening. Perfect stay if you want to visit those places. Would definitely love to stay again.
If there was a mini fridge and safe box. And perhaps another table. Also if there could be 1 more rubbish bin in the room itself. There was a bin in the toilet only.

We got the spectacular mountain view room so we could clearly see the glacier outlets. Great location for chasing the northern lights because the surroundings are farms with not much light. The food is nice. We had the signature local langoustine soup and vanilla ice cream for dinner and they were splendid. Rankes among my most favourite dishes in Iceland so far. The room is well equipped and comfortable. Good selection for breakfast.
The room seems to not be soundproof. We could hear the television from the room next door.

The breakfast was a little different than other hotels, as they had an initial spread with breads, jams, fruits, and juice, but you also go to pick between three options (eggs and bacon vs waffle vs avocado toast). There was plenty of parking, but you have to be careful with the wind causing damage to the cars. There was a good view from most windows and from the lobby, For being so remote, the WiFi worked well.
The hotel was farther away from Hofn than expected (30 minutes away), which came to a surprise to us.

Liked the large windows of the room. There was also a common seating area with windows overlooking the field, which was a wonderful sight when the sun is up with blue skies. Breakfast was good too, besides some basic items which you can help yourselves with, there is a list of 2-3 items which you can pick one (ie: ala carte item freshly made, eg. waffles). And sitting by the door (locked) I managed to gaze at few local sheep grazing nearby.

Great location, nice staff. We saw the most amazing Aurora of our lives there! I knew I would arrive at the hotel after the kitchen was closed, so I called them, they’ve sent me the menu by WhatsApp and let me order my dinner! So when we arrived they had everything ready for me to take the dinner away to my room.
I would like more options for breakfast, they only let you choose one between pancakes/eggs with bacon/avocado toast.

Location is cozy, I like the free breakfast everyday and how the staff allowed us to stay past breakfast time instead of asking us to leave. Even though I forgot to notify the staff of my late check in, the keys to my rooms were left on the counter for me to take when there were no one around. The owner's sheep were cute too.
Economy room no.1 had a broken toilet door (doesn't lock), and is smaller than room no.6.

Rooms are very spacious and clean. Comfortable beds. Bathroom and shower are really spacious (they could add a glass wall on the shower to prevent wetting the entire bathroom when you shower!) but other than that it’s great! Electric kettle in the room. They have coffee/tea available at the center hallway of the Room building and the breakfast/dinner is served at an adjacent building a little older looking.
That the dining room and rooms are in separate buildings.

Very nice guesthouse with an high quality feel to it. We loved the foyer as it offered great views on the aurora and had possibilities to watch it right from the inside or outside. The room itself was clean and spacious and felt good due to its night. The staff was very friendly and helped us out where they could. The breakfast was delicious!
The next city is around a 20min drive but that’s kind of an advantage as you’re not disturbed by any lights of a city :)

The mountain/glacier view was awesome from the huge window in the room, and the room was clean and stylishly minimalist. The shower was nice and big with plenty of elbow room and a heated towel rack at the end, and provided one of the best showers I experienced on my trip. The on site restaurant was delicious for both dinner and breakfast the next morning.
The flip side of the fabulous view - the mountain view side faces the Ring Road, and the car noise from each passing vehicle carries for a ways in the quiet countryside. So we weren't able to leave the window in our room open overnight due to the sound, and we got a bit hot (visited in the summer but low level of heating was still on indoors). It also would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room, but we got by with our soft-sided cooler.
