Fantastic apartment that was very spacious, well equipped and has a very comfortable bed and powerful shower in the bathroom. Very welcoming and helpful staff in reception who gave us some welcoming Christmas treats left by the owner of the hotel on our arrival. The location is perfect and you can walk everywhere you need to go in Reykjavik within a couple of minutes and there are some fantastic places to eat literally just steps from the front door. This was our third time staying at The Black Pearl over the last 10 years, each stay has been amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay there again.

Nothing at all.

First was the location. Our bus from the airport dropped us off at Bus Stop #4 which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel. This bus stop is also the one you will use for all of the tour shuttles you will probably book on your trip. For getting to the center of the city it was an easy 5-10 minute walk with restaurants, shops and popular points of interest. Second was the staff. Our only interaction with staff was when we checked in and out and when we had to ask a question mid-trip about scheduling our shuttle back to the airport. Everyone was warm and friendly and made us feel welcomed. Third and a very import one is the apartment. The apartment was very modern looking and in almost perfect condition. There was a touch screen panel that controlled the lighting and heating. You could also control both within each room using the switches. The kitchen had more than we needed as it was a short trip and we spent most of our time exploring and eating out. But if you are planning on cooking while you stay it has everything you could need. It all looked brand new. Gas stove and oven top, good size fridge and freezer (make sure you check the black book for mini bar prices.) pots and pans as well as all the plates and utensils you would need. The bed was very comfortable for my taste. Firm mattress, but you still felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. I thought there was plenty of closets if you need them. The bathroom was just as modern as the rest of the apartment. There was also a big balcony off the living room which was nice to step out on to get a breath of cold crisp air. But we didn't spend much time out there. Our room only had a view of the building next to it. In summary, this place was meant to be a place where we can sleep and get a couple of hours throughout the day in between different activities to rest and regroup. I would definitely stay here again when I visit next.

A fantastic place to stay in Reykjavik. I think this is our fourth or fifth stay at the Black Pearl in Reykjavik going all the way back to 2015. The suites are large, extremely well equipped and very, very comfortable. The staff at reception are so friendly and welcoming, as well as very knowledgeable. It is located right in the middle of Reykjavik, right next to the harbour, so there are plenty of fantastic things to do as soon as you step outside the door. There is a fantastic bakery called DEIG that is practically next door that does wonderful bagels, donuts and pastries. The Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhús is also just across the road.

The spotlight fittings above the bed get extremely hot and my wife burnt her finger when she touched it. A little bit of a refresh could be in order soon. There are a few scuff marks on walls and chips out of paintwork. There must've been a flood in the apartment above at some point as the ceiling in the bathroom some stains and bubbles in the paint.

The apartment was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. It was very clean, floors were heated, room temperature was great and I could adjust temperature as needed. Room was large with a nice King size bed and ample closets. Shower was excellent. The kitchen was perfect had Nespresso machine, kettle, nice size fridge with freezer, dishwasher, toaster, oven and microwave. Normal sized table to eat all meals. Living room with comfortable couch and TV. There was a balcony but I didn’t use it. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. Lots of restaurants nearby and coffee shops. Main shopping street a few minutes walk from hotel. Big supermarkets are a 15 minute walk from hotel. Bus stop 4 is 3 minutes walk from hotel . City is very safe for solo female travelers. So happy I chose this hotel, area is safe and hotel is perfectly located and walking distance to everything.

Nothing, perfect hotel

I recently stayed at Black Pearl Apartments, and it was pure luxury from start to finish. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring every aspect of my stay was perfect. One unique and delightful touch was the daily Yule Lads scrolls—a charming Christmas story left each night, adding a festive and cozy atmosphere to my stay. Additionally, I was touched by the thoughtful birthday present they left in my room, which made me feel truly special. Black Pearl Apartments exceeded all my expectations, and I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Lovely flat - great location and good in every respect. Helpful customer service - early check in, bottle of bubbly for a birthday etc.  Good handling of slightly unusual situation (not previously encountered on our travels) during our first night stay. So a 10 instead of usual maximum 9 that I would give.

It is a very modern apartment on the edge of the city center. Very comfortable and everything we needed was there.

Was a bit small for us to be really comfortable. We were a couple but with 2 big suitcases and we had trouble putting them somewhere. We also didn't like so much the domotica. So no regular light switches but a central screen with "sceneries" and small buttons. Half the time we were struggling turning on or off the lights or finding the correct switch. If you are just staying for 2 nights I feel it's overly complicated.

Our apartment at Black Pearl was perfect - well sized with everything we needed - kitchen equipment, nice bathroom, spacious sitting area, plenty of storage etc. The staff had set up a cot which worked wonderfully for us. It was brilliantly clean and was kept this way by housekeeping every day with key essentials topped up, dishwasher put on, bed made and melted snow and ice brought in the buggy cleaned up! The flat was wonderfully warm (including the floor which from the photos I was worried might make it feel a bit cold but not at all!). The location is amazing, we could walk everywhere we needed to in the city and loved being near the harbour. The staff were really friendly and very helpful and informative when we asked about various activities including emailing us good Northern Lights spotting areas.

I really could barely fault it - the parking was quite expensive but it seems to be expensive everywhere in Reykjavik - at least here it is warm, covered so no snow and ice, and very convenient!

Beautiful wee apartment just around the corner from Reykjavik centre. We would go back in a heart beat. Gorgeous rooms, beautifully equipped, loved it.

The lighting system was impossible to understand. Seems like a small thing, but it was frustrating at times. And the apartment was too warm. Under floor heating is not at all responsive. The windows open okay, provided the weather is calm, but remember where you are - Iceland! Another big issue for me is that we thought we were getting a sea view, that's how it was described on Booking.com. But no, on corresponding with the apartments there are no sea views. So beware that when booking. But all in all. We LOVED it.
