We loved this hotel. The room was really nice and we had a terrace!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is central but at the same time quiet. It was the best place of 5 that we had in Reykjavik. AND VERY IMPORTANT: THEIR PRICE IS CLEARLY STATED, TOTAL HONESTY. Beware with other hotels in the platform because now they are including a sneaky "cleaning fee"

We didn't have breakfast as we were self-catering and the facilities in the room were top class. Location is perfect and could not be better. The room was excellent and beautifully decorated as well. Only problem with the room was that the shut out blinds were on the wrong windows but that was not an issue. We have stayed at the Kosvin before and whenever we get to go back to the Icelandic capital, we will be staying at the hotel again.
There is nothing to dislike about the Kosvin Downtown hotel and it is exactly that - a boutique style - downtown base right at the heart of lovely Reyjkavik. One small issue is the parking - just 14 spaces right outside the hotel but if you are patient and while a little while, you will always get a space. On street parking is not as expensive as others things in Iceland and once you crack the code for the parking meters, it's easy.

This hotel us in the heart of Downtown Reykjavik. Everything was in walking distance. Bus Stop 1 (tours and airport shuttles etc. is right around the corner. The rooms are clean and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. The free breakfast was amazing and very delicious! There is a bar connected to the hotel and they make amazing drinks! They also sell light food there (great tasting things such as cheese platters, sweet potato fries etc). We arrived very early and they got our room ready for us quickly. Housrkeeping made sure that we had EVERYTHING. The front desk staff were very friendly. I am so glad that we booked this hotel. Amazing rates, absolutely amazing location, and great staff. I refuse to stay anywhere else in Iceland!
I loved everything

Hotel is centrally located within walking distance of the main town square and the Parliament building. Friendly and welcoming staff who helped us move our luggage to our room and provided useful information on parking our car. Our room was larger than we expected and gave us the opportunity to spread out. Really comfortable room with good blackout curtains, which was appreciated during the bright "nights" in June. We also appreciated the ear plugs since the hotel is across the street from a church that rings its bells at the quarter hour 24/7! So the ear plugs helped us sleep through the night for sure.
The TV connection was inconsistent and some channels that we got the first night disappeared the second night of our stay. Not a big deal, wifi connection was good so we switched to videos on our laptop.

Our room was nice - there was a double bed and a pull out sofa bed for the children. We had a kitchenette, which was very convenient, and a table. The location was down near the Althing, so we very central to museums, restaurants, and sites. But the best part was the staff - our daughter got sick during the trip, and unfortunately we were moving from hotel to hotel each night. But the day we were to check out, the Kvosin let us stay in our room until 3pm, which gave our ill daughter a place to rest until we went to the airport. I found that so to be kind and thoughtful, and I really appreciated the gesture. Our room was on the ground floor, but my family members room on the second floor had a wonderful view and a little balconette - very nice.

The location was great. Bus station, super markets, restaurants and popular tourists spots were within walking distance. The bar food and breakfast were simple, healthy and delicious. We really like the cosy and chilled atmosphere the hotel created. And also felt welcomed by the staff members. They were very supportive and helped us find some useful information. The room was spacious and clean with sofa and mini kitchen which exceeded our expectations. It was like living in an apartment which is very suitable for a long stay. Highly recommend Kvosin!
The only thing is the door to the corridor was not very sound proof. We heard noise at night when other travelers checked in their room outside.

Breakfast was tasty and Icelandic. The room was spacious and had lots of nice amenities. The staff were all wonderfully helpful and friendly. The location is fantastic. We walked everywhere we wanted to go in Reykjavik and had convenient pick-up locations for excursions just around the corner from the hotel. There are lots of tasty food and drink options within short walking distance as well.
The church bell that rings every hour+ nearby isn't great, but the hotel provided earplugs, and we used our phones for white noise to help.

Beautiful hotel in the absolute best location. The hotel was gorgeous and modern inside but maintained it’s charm and character too. The location is absolutely perfect, in walking distance to everything in the city and 2 minutes from bus stop 1 for day trips etc! The reception staff were all so helpful and we enjoyed chatting to the bar staff too during happy hour! Our ‘Bigger’ room was absolutely amazing, it felt like a large studio flat and we found that we felt right at home! I loved having the extra space! We had a balcony overlooking the city hall area & absolutely loved it. We could hear the church bells faintly but we’re not disturbed by them at all, we quite enjoyed them!
We were woken up every morning before 7am despite using ear plugs due to the above room being rather loud, but this is just one of those things that can’t be helped. We also stayed over my partners birthday which was not really acknowledged by the hotel however perhaps we didn’t make it clear enough!

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, every one of them from reception, to the bar staff, breakfast staff and the cleaning staff all went that extra mile to make our stay wonderful. The hotel is very warm and cosy and provided free coffee and cakes at reception throughout the day. It was -13 when we were there and Iceland was covered with snow.. The room was cosy open plan and had a kitchen island so we had fresh wster and coffee making facilities. At the back of Kvosin Downtown Hotel we got the best photographs of the Northern Lights. It is very central, everything was in walking distance fron the Ice bar, the Rainbow street, restaurants cafes and shops, most tour bus stop were within 2 minutes from the hotel.
Having to leave.

Wonderful hotel! Room was much larger and nicer than expected. Very comfortable bed, nice sitting area, and excellent shower - which was appreciated after being out in the more remote areas of Iceland. Walking distance to many excellent restaurants, museums and attractions. Breakfast was was a continental buffet with fresh offerings each day.
PARKING! Unfortunately, there is no reserved hotel parking and the small paid lot in front of the hotel was always full. Fortunately, the wonderfully helpful desk attendant moved her car to the back of the property to make room for us, and we didn't need to drive while in town. The downtown area seems to have a general lack of parking, so once you find a spot, don't move!
