The Heritage is an "oasis of calm" in the congested/ crowded/ polluted/ dusty city of Madurai. Located on one of the main roads about 3km from the main Meenakshi temble, the Hotel has spacious and well manicured grounds with an 'old world' charm. There are lots of trees, lawns and gardens. The "Luxury cottage" room was very spacious with a private plunge pool and a large washroom/ bath area. The beds were comfortable as well. The Restaurant offers a buffet at night - which was quite good and so was the variety at breakfast. All this for Rs 9000/- is excellent value for money. They also have a Spa offering Ayurvedic massage treatments which we took and enjoyed. Staff are well trained and courteous. All in all, a must stay hotel when you visit IXM (Madurai).

Clean Room, Great Breakfast, lots of trees and space for a leisure walk, and courteous staff.

It will be great if the reception area gets air conditioning. Require shuttle service to get to tourist attractions and to and from the Airport.

It's possibly a top 3 stays that we as a family have stayed across the globe. Spacious, quaint, right in the middle of the city, incredibly green with massive banyan trees everywhere.... A large villa, with a private plunge pool, a massive stone covered bathroom and airy bedroom and comfortably spaced guestroom. There is vintage wood work everywhere, doors, door frames, windows, large sliding doors, including a beautiful closet and a TV cabinet ! ! The food is top grade , the bar is top class , the common pool is massive and built in temple style architecture. Staff are courteous and ever eager to help !! The entire stay alongwith the hospitality is worth definitely coming back.

Maybe we could have stayed beyond the 2 N 3 D we had booked for. The TV had very little to almost no options , not that it's a complaint- but why hv a 45 in TV when one can watch nothing !

The word " friendly" comes from " friend". That's how we felt there. Everybody was so attentive and warm hearted. It was difficult to leave this place, so we booked an extra night. On arrival we got a free room upgrade without even asking. The stuff did everything they could to make our stay especially enjoyable: Buvana and Ashok from reception, and Vijay and the other gentlemen from house keeping. Misses Rama made the nicest masala tea for breakfast. All the stuff kept always an eye on us and tried to guess our needs even before we could express them. It was really extraordinary. We had a spacious room with a private pool, and we played table tennis in the garden. Swimming pool to cool down and a beautiful well maintained garden. Lots of varieties at Breakfast and dinner buffet. Not only nice looking but unique taste to every dish. Even western dishes were there. I haven't experienced such a high quality buffet anywhere else. They even had outside cooking station to make fresh pasta to one's taste. We'll surely come back.

This is a delightful place to stay after visiting the frantic centre of Madurai - 15 minutes away on a tuk tuk. I liked the well kept tree lined avenues and the swimming pool was first class. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful and the whole place had a friendly feel. We had a Luxury Plunge Pool Villa which was very nice. The pool, which is actually in the bathroom, not that you would notice that, added a special touch to the place. They have a good restaurant on site serving food at reasonable prices. As you might imagine, breakfast is good as well.

It is a very green location. It is located in the middle of the city, but still very much silent once you enter the premises. 1. it has cycles, so you can pedal around (cycles are not the greatest though) 2. They have buggy which can pick you up too from your place and bring you to the place where you get food 3. Swimming pool is said to have insects, but hey that is not a problem, my son spent good time there 4. Good complimentary breakfast, very hospitable staff 5. the food is good too, we had mutton - very nicely made, and for a change my wife who doesn't prefer it enjoyed it too.

1. The other activities like table tennis, and carrom are disappointing though - not at all good 2. Cycles not that great :-)

The property is extremely beautiful and peaceful. Rooms are very spacious. Amenities provided are very nice. Plunge pool villas are absolutely gorgeous.

Reception staff should focus on every guest rather than giving attention to foreigner guests only. Had to wait for 45mins for plates and water to be delivered to the room. No communication amongst the staff. I spoke to three members from the reception and requested for a late checkout at additional cost. But they promptly called me at 11am and told me that I have to checkout, even after confirming late checkout and additional payment with one of the members at 10am. They almost ruined the entire experience of the stay until the manager stepped in.

Breakfast was excellent. Rama welcomes everyone with a genuine smile and treats them like a family. She gets all the special orders and the way she serves coffee and tea is amazing. I had kanji after a long time, fenugreek and jeera waters were special. Juices were freshly made from real fruits. The overall facility is good and the location to catch bus or share autos/taxi was very easy. All the amenities are close by in walkable distance.

The Air conditioning making sound and the need to call maintenance in night was inconvenient.

Location is within the city and all places are easily accessible from here, breakfast was ok and the entire place itself gives a positive vibe with all the trees, will definitely feel very close to nature, staff is very very polite and very helping, there is always a smile on their face, well trained also. Bicycles are available which you can take for a stroll within the hotel premises, there are gaming options available, like chess, carom and al tried that and it was fun. Room was spacious and basic amenities was provided, response from room service was also great and satisfied.

Property is spread out in a large area and parking is available not nearby to your rooms only near to the reception area, there is drop off services available from reception but might have a waiting time also the walk till the room is also good, but sometimes we felt that it is a long way to go and what if the car reached till our room. There was no shaded parking also available, there is only one pool and it is located nearby to the reception area which we felt like having a little less privacy. The room below us was undergoing renovation and there was some dust and little noises sometimes.

Everything. It's over sprawling grounds. All low rise. Staff goes out of its way to be nice. We reached early. They checked us in without our request. In the evening, they had a buffet, which was yet to start. When we told the waiter, that we didn't really relish buffet dinners., and could we have a drink? He offered that we could select starters from the buffet, and he would bill is for those. A bottle of beer and a couple of starters at a hotel of this standard seems very reasonable for a thousand. As we had to leave early, they packed us a nice breakfast. I and my wife would love to stay here again.

Taxis hired by them charge 800 for 4 km. Better get an auto from outside.
