The hotel is beautiful. My lake view room was superb. the bed was huge and comfortable. There were lovely areas to sit and enjoy the vistas. Breakfast food is nothing great…not many healthy options or choices for vegans. No options such as soy, almond or oat milk.

When checking out a man I assume was the manager said to me “your face cloth is very stained, you need to buy a new one. “ he was holding it in his hand. It was not make up….it was dark brown with some areas that looked like grease. I told him “look at me, where do you suppose I would have used that to create these stains? ? He said “well the cleaners found it in your room. “. I told him that is not possible. He again told me to pay for it. I was there 3 nights and spent over $1000. REALLY.? Why would a 75 year old single woman have cleaned the floor or anything with that wash cloth? It really spoiled an otherwise nice stay. I refused to pay.

Hotel is located right on the waterfront and the rooftop restaurant views are amazing. We were upgraded to a presidential suite for part of our stay which was wonderful but tough to move to a downgraded room.

They have live music every evening in the quadrangle which can get VERY loud for several hours. I don’t know why hotels feel they need to LOUDLY entertain all the guests every evening. The hotel is a small building so all rooms are affected by it. Totally unnecessary. We were disappointed with the quality of the food at the restaurant (much better ones in town elsewhere), especially the breakfast selection. They would run out of food quickly and we had to wait. The tendency of the staff to attend to foreign tourists more than locals or POC is very tiring and frustrating…please stop this practice. India is better than this and Jagat Niwas should be very aware of such practices. WiFI connections are terrible!!

This property, although it is not the Lakeside Hotel, is terrific. The rooftop bar and restaurant provides beautiful views over the lake to watch the sunset. Our room looking over the lake was exotic in styling which suited the style of Udaipur perfectly.

We do have one complaint. We ate and drank exclusively at the hotel as we were only visiting Udaipur for 2 nights to see what it was like. We came away with a terrible stomach bug when we restarted our journey to Mumbai. Luckily we had in our luggage large doses of antibiotics (azithromycin) otherwise we would have been in big trouble. The hotel should look at this, my guess it was the ice, even though we were assured the ice was made with mineral water.

The best accommodation in our 2 weeks trip in India. Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience. The value for money was excellent, we even got a better room that the one we had booked. They allowed us to change our second breakfast to the first morning as we arrived extremely early in Udaipur, and they allowed us to do a free early check-in as well. Delicious breakfast with extensive variety of foods. Fantastic dinner in the rooftop restaurant. Clean room and comfy bed. Friendly staff. Free water. A very luxurious environment with some of the best views over Lake Pichola and exquisite architecture. They organised our night taxi from Jaipur with very fair price too.

For us the hotel location was perfect, as it is very close to many of the sights in Udaipur. But the streets to reach the hotel are very narrow, and our driver who was gonna bring us to Jodhpur had trouble reaching the hotel in the early morning, so we had to walk pushing the bags uphill for a bit to meet him.

We had a pleasant stay at Jagat Niwas Palace. The location was perfect for us and the hotel provided all the services and amenities that we needed. We especially loved the roof terrace which offered great view to the lake and we could enjoy the moment of serenity at sunrise and sunset when the hotel got less busy without the outside guests. Our first dinner at Udaipur on the roof terrace of Jagat Niwas Palace is still the best and most memorable dining experience that we had at Udaipur. Our stay at Jagat Niwas Palace is one of the best highlights during our visit to Udaipur.

Ambience, luxury, the views and location. It was in the heart of the city and offered a wonderful cultural immersion. I also like the boat ride that the hotel offered and the small city streets with nice shopping experiences. The food was immaculate in the restaurant as well and were very accommodating to our dietary restrictions.

It would be great if it was mentioned in a welcome email or a booking email about instructions of how to get to the palace. I only knew to ask about the hotel arranging auto rickshaws to get us to the hotel in the tiny streets after our cab driver told us that cars aren't allowed into the small streets. However, we didn't have to wait long (just a few minutes) for the autos to be there at our pickup point, so props to the hotel staff! Thanks!

Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in a beautiful pichola lake view suite for 5 nights was spectacular. Having had holidays in 96 different countries and at least 500+ different hotel rooms, the cavernous Maharaja was definitely the most blingy with cut pieces of mirror covering all the ceilings and detailed murals covering the walls made our room very special. Expensive at £300 per room per night, but good value compared to say the Taj Palace at £500 per night. The rooftop restaurant with uninterrupted lake and palace views served very good food at reasonable prices and was ideal for a memorable romantic St Valentines evening meal !

Very limited breakfast choice

Everything about the property was amazing. The room, the lake view, the swimming pool. Everything was clean and the staff was really helpful with everything. They even gave us an early check in owing to our circumstances which was really nice. 10/10 recommend staying here. The location is perfect as the main attraction of the city- the city palace is walking distance

The only issue about the place is the location which is a little tricky because cars are not allowed here one has to take an auto and it gets slightly expensive to get to places that are a little further.

exepctataions were not great considering it was only rated 3 star hotel, however they have kept the hotel very well and location can not get better then this.If it had the required size it would easily qualify for 5 star so look no further. Food in this restaurant including breakfast was very good. restaurant was always busy due to amaizing views and lot of non hotel guests want to explore this so they do visit restaurant. We booked three rooms one of which was non-lake facing suit which would be my reccomondation due to few reasons. it is on roof top terrece with best views once you come out of room and room is very specious. hotel staff was very friendly and helped us a lot during our stay.

getting to this hotel is not possible with Car. while I understand the limitations and it is goverment regulated, it can be communicated better before the stay on how we can come to hotel. they can pick you up at some goverment parkings in their auto or can also pick you in their boat to one of the pier. i would suggest call them before your stay to work that out. we got little freak out due to long car ride, lot of luggage and kids with us on arrival when found car cant go to hotel.

Lakefront restaurant to enjoy breakfasts in the morning. Had dinner on their rooftop restaurant. Beautiful mirrored room.

Found service very slow during our dinner. Breakfast menu stated breakfast to be served between 7-10am We were there along with another foreign couple and only fruit and tea was available. We were told breakfast will be ready in another half an hour! I showed him the menu sheet saying 7-10am and only then they started rushing to load the food. Complained at the front desk, ‘very sorry but breakfast starts at 7:30am’ we pointed out the menu sheet saying 7-10am as well as we were supposed to leave early in the morning.
