It is a quiet reprieve within the busy market place. The food was excellent - both in taste and value. It is right on the Ganges which would have been excellent except that the boats were cancelled the days we were there (due to flooding) so we didn't get the full experience. There was a shower we were able to use after we had checked out which was very helpful.

It is located within the city/ market so is actually very difficult to find - we had a driver and cars are not allowed within the area so we had to get out and walk 10-15 mins. The hotel sent a porter to help us with our bags though. Our room was also outside the main building - we had to leave the hotel to walk there, through a quite dirty street. It wasn't an issue for us but may be for others. The AC also didn't appear to be working but we may not have figured out the remote properly.

It was clean and absolutely beautifully decorated. The location was great with stunning views over the Ganges. We stayed in a room with a balcony and river view. Staff were friendly especially Sunil who took us on a guided tour around Varanasi. Really good value and so informative. It would have been difficult to navigate through the narrow streets without him. I would highly recommend booking Sunil to guide you around Varanasi. I would recommend Ganpati Guest House to anyone thinking of visiting Varanasi.

It’s just beautiful, colorful with cool door handles. Get a balcony on the Ganges if you can. They have really comfy seating out there. If not, they have cool spots to sit all around. The staff was also great. They helped you to and from the city through the mazes of old town. I missed my train and they let me hang out there until a taxi could come hours later.

Being an American, I found the narrow alleys pretty gross. I might have learned how to get to and from the hotel by the end of my stay. Although I didn’t feel free to roam on my own, the staff were super helpful. They carried my luggage both ways multiple times. I would say this is a great location if you want easy access to everything, but I found the location a little hard to deal with.

Literally everything. From the pick up service, to the location, the hotel restaurant, the amazing customer service from the reception desk, Vipinji, the hotel Team, the layout of the hotel, the designs of the hotel and the rooms. Incredible roof top view, access to the Ganga, main attractions and the famous alleyways. Incredible pickup team at the airport with Naresh, and my amazing personal guide or Bali/Rajendraji. I saw all of Varanasi by foot and with the right level of personalization and must see items. Food quality very high and clean At no point did I feel like I wasn’t being taken care of or that my Varanasi experience was being short changed. Literally the best decision I made was to stay at this location.

location and staff - Ramu (housekeeping), Vishnu, Shankar (restaurant). These 3 folks made our stay incredibly memorable. brilliant view of Maa Ganga and the ghats from the balcony and the new corridor of the temple is at walkable distance. Roof top Restaurant available and service is reasonably good.

approach reception staff can be better trained, especially mr Pandey. Food was not great. While reviews are great, it is Misguiding. may be the chef got changed or so.

Super clean and lovely room with lots of staff. The best part though is the rooftop restaurant overlooking the Ganga, where you can sit and sip chai and watch the world. They also organise walking tours around the city and morning and evening boat rides on the Ganga :)

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but as other reviews have said it is super nestled in the old town and inaccessible by car. It took me a while to find it the first time, but after that it fun to be amongst all the action. Just make sure you are up for a walk! It’s also a bit expensive compared to other places…

The location of the property is simply perfect! I also loved the colourful interior and the food in the (rooftop) restaurant was brilliant. It is really convenient that all kinds of guides and tours can be booked at the guesthouse.

I was spending the day while being checked out and had to use the common washroom. Unfortunately that washroom could have been cleaner. Tours were super nice, only the boat in the morning almost left without me (although I was in time) and the walking tour guy 'tricked' me in a silk workshop which wasn't actually a workshop. These are (minor!) points for improvement. The price of the best rooms are relatively high and do not include breakfast.

Super location. It’s a guest house so not much in the way of facilities but basic restaurant for breakfast, dinner or drinks. Make sure to use their drop off and pick up service. Cheap and helpful as the guest house is not easy to find. Get the best rooms as they have a million dollar view from the balcony and worth every penny. This hotel is about being at the center of the ghats

Tough to get Wi-Fi or hot water. Needs more than one pillow and bath towel is like sand paper. TV and Fridge did not work but we did not end up using them

Fantastic location ✨🔥 I m so happy I chose this guest house. It’s close to the key activities (for me) in Varanasi, I felt like I m in the middle of everything Also incredibly helpful was the stuff: they offered transfer, carried my luggage for 10 minutes in the most busiest Varanasi (I can only imagine how complicated would it be to arrange it myself). Offered city tours, boat tours … I mean I m very grateful for my amazing experience of Varanasi

It took me a while to get used to the bathroom and light switches.

We were met by 2 smiling faces in a crowd of mayhem - these two lovely men carried our bags throughout the narrow winding roads. I booked a deluxe room as it had a great view of the Ganges. The wifi was pretty good throughout. Food in the restaurant was fine. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy.

For the price of the room the shower could have been much better! There was also an annoying drip from the boiler onto the surrounding edges of the sink - making my toiletries feel a bit yucky.
