Everyone here is extremely friendly, which makes using all the great facilities an even nicer experience! From morning breakfast with amazing dosas from Prasad, lovingly made pancakes from Trivendra, and a very attentive waiting team, to lunch at Castaway with Vaibhav and the others, drinks at the pool bar, sunset at the beautiful expanse of white sandy beach, and dinner at Carnaval served by Mayank, the whole day at Caravela is pure pleasure. We stayed in one of the villas, which offered plenty of space for our family. The kids loved the comfy beds and sofa to lounge on, the cleaning team was very good, too. We appreciated our morning coffee from the Lavazza coffee maker before heading to the breakfast buffet with a spread of fresh fruit, eggs to order and all kinds of continental and Indian options. We stayed for 5 nights and spent the mornings at the pool which is nice and clean. A short foot path takes you to the beautiful long beach with a restaurant and beach shack (we didn't eat there, see below). The water is shallow so ideal even for smaller kids. We spent hours just playing in the waves, bodyboarding and then watching the sunset. We rented bikes one day as the sand is firm enough to bike on at low tide, but the relatively poor quality of the bikes made it much harder than necessary so our kids didn't enjoy that part. I asked to borrow a yoga mat for myself at the spa for the 5 days we were there, and the staff there again made me feel like there's nothing too much to ask. The kids took part in some of the activities offered by the Children's Activity Center which adds a nice change to their daily routine of pool and beach: paper art, towel origami, scavenger hunt and cupcake decoration were appreciated by kids and parents alike. We had initially booked for a shorter time, Duty Manager Joanna really went above and beyond to make an additional night at the villa possible, which made our life a lot easier.

As in most bigger hotels in Goa, winter is wedding season and we had two separate 2-day wedding celebrations taking place during our stay. While most of the action was somewhere on the sprawl of land between the beach and the hotel and doesn't bother you too much, some parts took place either very close to or on the beach, which meant that the accompanying music / noise makes it a lot harder to enjoy your time there, e.g. have dinner at the beach. We opted to go to one of the other shacks further down the beach to avoid the noise.

I liked the sandy beach, it's really clean and natural. One suggestion is that you must have staff. Having staff will make things easier to cater.

hi there. the property is very nice and far from city, which makes is more peaceful. the fact that there are so many foreigners living in the property, please make sure all of us get the same treatment. I mean I literally saw someone pulling back a dining chair for some random foreigner guest, which was really awkward because she did not pull back my chair. Such discrimination with the guests is not right. all guests should be treated equally.

Overall food is quite nice and of good quality, excellent fruits. Really nice green areas, lookout points, nice pool area, (although quite loud music), nice green space with small pitch and putt 9 hole course, and good access to the beach. Rooms are nice with very very very very nice comfy beds and quick and excellent housekeeping. Staff who we really liked and were corteous and very helpful: dinning room Mashewar, and specially Jharna and Antika. Genevie from housekeeping was outstanding, best room up keeping 5*. From Activity center Shana and Rochelle are very sweet. Deepak the golf instructor he is very nice too, worth it to go for a round

This stretch or Varca beach has quite a lot of trash when compared with the more northern part where other resorts are. The activity center is very small dark and run down, really not a nice place to go or leave your children at if it wasn't because of the staff, it is really not a nice place, with games and furniture very old and deteriorated. Continental breakfast area (waffle and pancake work terribly) Spa treatments and organization and schedule are not up to a normal standard. Certain staff were quite pushy and overbearing.

Right on the beach and the staff were fabulous.. very comfortable and welcoming. Gorgeous pool.

Too many noisy wedding parties. It was interesting to start with but after 4 days the drums were getting us down!

First of all the staff: corteous, competent, smiling: in the dining hall, on the beach premises, in the lobby. During our stay at the hotel there have also been some busy days: staff members didn't change attitude: they always met us with a smile, a kind word, trying to take care of a wish or the expressed need. A special compliment goes to Babyrose, Antika and Uday who made us "feel at home". Then we liked the wonderful, long, sandy beach, perfect for walks and enjoy the arabic sea. For those who like to swim it's a very good place: you can have nice swims both in the sea (usually calm, warm water) and in the large pool of the hotel: we never found it overcrowded; there were separate, bounded areas for children and adults. We also liked the food. We stayed for six nights so we decided to have three dinners at hotel enjoying the buffet and went out for three other nights. Along the beach, within walking distance there are various schacks which serve good food, especially fish and, if you wish (as we did) you can enjoy it right on the shore, in front of the sea. But also the food served at the buffet of the resort was good and varied with many indian - and goan - dishes. Same to say for the breakfast with a pretty big choice were you could have indian specialities or more - for us - traditionals like bread, toasts, cakes, butter, eggs or whatever (including fresh fruit juices). Last but not least, we appreciated together with the huge, lush garden (and the many birds), the cleanliness of the property: there was allways somebody around cleaning or tyding up.

A little minus was the plastic shower curtain in the bathroom and the music, at times a little loud, of the wedding parties, but usually didn't last too long.

The staff at the resort were very welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and have a great stay. We really enjoyed breakfast buffet which had so many items and lots of healthier options. The grounds are beautiful and lush and well maintained. Live music during dinner was a nice add on most evenings.

Some rooms looked a bit ‘tired’ and basic in their decor. It would be nice to have a few more healthier food options at dinner buffet. Eating at other restaurants on the resort grounds was not a great value for money. It is worth noting that tax is not included in any prices advertised on the menu or spa treatments (which were great by the way), which adds 18% to the final bill. That’s not specific to this hotel but rather a common thing in India.

The nicest thing one can say about a holiday property is...I would be happy to come back again! Apart from very comfortable rooms, great service and amenities, the Caravela Beach Resort has several star features; first, its wonderful South Goa 'right on the beach' location with direct access to a stretch of endless sea and sand that feels almost private. Then, a very tasty and varied breakfast buffet (including French pastry as good as in Paris!), a satisfying menu card and Pan Asian restaurant. But what blew me away was the standard of service and care at this property. People make a place, and here everyone was smiling, friendly and helpful. An army of discrete, tastefully uniformed and well trained personnel endlessly busy behind the scenes taking care of the truly magnificent landscaped grounds with its beautiful variety of trees and plants, maintaining a pleasant poolside, efficient cleaning teams, attentive wait staff and reception personnel going over and beyond duty to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. I was really impressed by the level of effort, work and attention to every tiny detail (I saw even stones lining a flowerbed being cleaned one by one!). This place has a heart and soul, and I thank every person on the Caravela Beach Resort staff that make a holiday here memorable!

There is not a single thing this resort needs…every detail of the resort has been thought of. I can honestly say I been on a lot of holidays and stayed in top hotels and this place is crème de la crème, to a point where I am already booking for next year. Wow to all the staff hats off not a single complaint about a single thing. I’m Indian and born and raised UK…been punjab which is where my parents originate from been to Delhi been Mumbai and everything is about tips. At this resort no tips allowed and it’s fair across the board and you don’t feel obliged to even tip. From checking in to the welcome to checking out it was incredible, Sanya and ayaas thank you for the maintenance of the room everyday anytime they were there. Thank you to the manager (Zara) for all she did and to the staff in general I wish I could name everyone I remember also chef Singh thank you sir for accommodating to all our needs. We are all big on reviews as it guides us to a happy holiday and this place was paradise. Thank you everyone had an amazing time xxx

Everything was perfect!!!

Room was large and comfortable with a nice small balcony. Good breakfast with lots of choice, and good staff. Beach Hut and Sunset Bar right on the beach were good food and drink options, plus half a dozen beach shacks. Good pool with different areas for adults and children, plus pool bar and Castaways casual restaurant. Lots of sun loungers, mix of shade and sun. No hassle really on beach. Front desk constantly checking everything was ok.

Some service in the Sunset Bar was slow. Travel Desk didn't really offer any tourist help, just deferred to taxi drivers. Beach location good but had to get a taxi into the village, so not walkable unfortunately. Didn't try the main restaurant or bar.

The resort is perfectly located on a quiet stretch of beautiful beach. If the beach is not for you then the pool area has loungers and towels in plentiful supply. There are also loungers away from the pool in the gardens for a quieter time. My room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The outside terrace was also comfortable. There were good food options and the food quality was excellent. But it was the staff that made my stay here very spacial. Everyone from the restaurant staff to housekeeping could not have been more helpful. A special mention for Shavon, the duty manager, who was very helpful and kind and even made sure I had a packed breakfast box for my early departure!

For me there was nothing not to like!
